Oh boi, I was so fucking done with it. I followed some shady method on YouTube and it worked. Now the phone feels so nice to use.

You just have to wait patiently. Remember at least you can unlock the bootloader unlike other devices. I ordered a Xiaomi phone from Gearbest which came with an unlocked bootloader. I just flashed twrp and bootleggers.
Yeah same I’m staying on bootleggers 3.5 pie for now. I used to be a flashaholic on my last phone. I need something with enough features but not too many like havoc or RR. Only thing I’m missing is ambient display that I can enable using magisk and power button flashlight. I’ll probably reflash if there is a rom with more features or when Android Q releases. I occasionally test ROMs but backup first. I’m checking xda daily though because it’s fun 😀
Well it unlocks your bootloader temporarily and flashes a custom recovery and once it is installed you can flash any ROM. Yeah it could brick your device and the fact that op hasn’t replied yet makes me a little concerned.

do a full battery recalibration and you will be good to go. It was like that for me first couple days, I re calibrated and started getting miui level SOT on RN5. I think it takes tome for the “battery manager” to learn your habits also.
Yeah this was a popular way to do it back in the note 3 days.
You just cannot ever flash a stock ROM back to it, but any custom ROM or Xiaomi.eu works fine
