Mi9 is coming on the second wave, very dissapointed to see a flagship getting it later than the redmi brands, hell even the POCO 1 is getting it before Mi9.
Well, for now, redmi got only miui 11 without Android 10(at least to my knowledge). Mi 9 should get miui and Android 10 in a single update. So we’ll see then who got it faster.

Global version is V10.3.11.0.PFJMIXM. This also explains why some people don’t receive any updates because there are eea and global, difference is eea have google messenger and some unsual google apps. Meanwhile global all have mi messenger and mi apps

If you want Android 10 unlock your bootloader and flash Xiaomi.eu, China Dev has Android 10 and then… You will be disappointed again… Because there’s nothing useful in Android 10 beside force dark apps.

You need to have a custom recovery installed. I use TWRP. There are full tutorials on how to unlock bootloader and install TWRP on any device on XDA.
Once you did that, you download the Xiaomi.eu Rom from their website, under MIUI 11. Then choose your device and flash via TWRP.

The Mi 9 is getting it in the second wave because it’ll come with Android 10. This first wave will recieve Miui 11 with Android 9
There is no European version, its either China or global. EU rom is not maintained by xiaomi

I have the actual Mi 9T (European version of the K20) and I already did the update.. Took something like 10 minutes.. But I’m still on Android 9 and to be honest I mostly didn’t see anything obvious from previous miui..

I just updated to miui 11..
First I still have Android 9.
Then I strictly noticed anything new..
For example they claim that there will be new Always On Display content particularly dynamic.. Well there are some new spirals, but most of them are exactly the sames, and there is still only one 24h display which was the one I’m using btw..
So very disappointed by this update they teased from a moment now…but for nothing IMHO..
After seeing this post I checked and I also received it in my Mi9T..
However it’s still Android 9…

Nope, I have V10.2.14.0 PFAMIXM which (as you said yourself) is a global ROM not EU ROM.
When they update to Android 10 you will be disappointed, there’s nothing interesting in Android 10, useful features at least.

There is actually an EEA version that is specifically made for EU countries where you can disable ads etc. The global version is for everyone else like India apart form China which has its own version.

I’m not sure, I believe not. When I did, it was earlier this year and I requested to unlock it and forgot about it. Two weeks later I tried unlocking and it worked but I didn’t rly remember requesting permission. Check out the XDA forum.
