Where the fuck is the company cutting costs in this phone?
I was sold on that Hi Res certificate..
Now THIS is insanity..
This phone is looking so pretty as well.
wow this looks beautiful
The picture above is not confirmed
I saw on their official weibo account..
Have they said that their display is HDR10 or HDR10+?I am just curious
No wireless charging, no optical zoom cameras like the one on the P30 Pro, no waterproofing.
Is there any news that it will have a curved design similar to OnePlus 7? Or Samsung’s
It’s confirmed. That’s a crazy small chin. I thought they were hiding it in previous leaked images.
I think it’ll be priced at $330 for the Indian Market. That’s still crazy good value that this device is offering.
Still not believing k20’s chin can be that small..
We’ll see..
Nope..
Maybe they will.. ( i hope they do but this is too much Lol)
Hopefully it doesn’t! I hate those accidental touches when phones have curved screens
Water resistant is a Trend nowadays hope they try that
Hopefully not in the LTE bands required in the US department… I missed out on the pocophone because of this
It’ll be water resistant to some extent though
It’ll have 2x optical zoom atleast.. no ?
Dangerous times for Chinese companies trying to compete in the US market.
Hopefully
Well, the image could be made to look a bit better than reality, as was the case with the Mi Mix a while ago. But even if it’s close, it will be great.
Agreed..
Is this the 1st Xiaomi phone with Hi Res audio? Bc that’s a big deal right there.
Yup.. the 1st one.. Mi A1 had great 3.5mm jack with dedicated amp (DIRAC HD) but didn’t have Hi res audio..
Damn, 6.3 inch?
That’s big, but I’m sold.
leaks say it will have the same cams as the mi9se.
I remember there were issues with static noise or similar from the headphone jack in the A1.
They made the experience of speaker n jack worse with updates..
Woah wtf I had no idea you could use it for all that.
*Looks at my RN7 with a slightly disappointed look*
That’s what she said
I know its way too early but how is the custom room community for redmi phones? I really appreciate all the great roms on my Poco F1. MIUI is actually pretty usable but I do get bored a lot and switching things up with a new rom is great.
Lol, fuck off.
Its excellent..
I’m using kenzo and receiving updates monthly..and there are atleast 7 pie roms at this moment which are very good..
And on Mido.. its just insane..
I’ve heard development is good on Whyred too..
So I’m not worried about that..
What about eSIM?
Does everything you mentioned require an app or can you just scan and emulate an existing card?
You do realize they spend zero on marketing, close to that on storage and are subsidized on top of being the fourth smartphone manufacturer worldwide? They have India and China, along with a good amount of Europe almost dominated. There’s no need for high profit margins.
The IMX568 doesn’t have that, so I think not.
I imagine they won’t be using a 2019 flagship level display, that’s the single most expenisve component in phones today. It will still look fine, but it won’t be a match for S10 and the like.
Very cool
Galaxy S10+ BOM is estimated to be at 420USD, so 70USD is a huge difference.
It doesn’t come assembled lol
At this point I’ll take the k20 even without a sim card slot or gsm/CDMA modem if it comes around $300…
What happens when you get a bad unit? For example, Google probably lost money on my nexus 4 because I had static in phone calls so they replaced it with a new one for me.
5% profit margin
Yeah there was a hissing noise when using the headphone jack
I think it will have it. Even the rn7 has it
The company is not making any profits by selling smartphones. It is just a marketing strategy, to be recognized as a brand. Xiaomi is not selling only phones.
Do you have an app that learns based on existing security devices, like a security ID badge or something like that? If so, what app are you using for all that?
Or the price is going to be pretty high to match the features perhaps.
Link to the post? I can’t find it on Weibo
That’s going to be the case, I suppose. No way they’re going to bring a global version with all bands including us bands like the mix 2s.
It will be AMOLED at least. So I guess that’s fine then.

Monday: xiaomi banned in US.
I’d make my own kid slave labour for them if this phone is as good as it seems
I don’t mean it’ll be Apple pricing expensive but it could well be a step up from what we’re used to seeing price wise in the Redmi brand.
The components may not be first quality binned parts with very low defect rate or rating.
Wednesday: custom Constitution developed for MIUS pro. Need to unlock citizenship(bootloader) by applying.
It’s already leaked to be 2599 yuan for base model aka 380 dollars. Mi9 base model was 2999 yuan.
This might be the first time that I will be buying a second phone while the one I have right now is perfectly fine.
I love my Poco F1 but I need that NFC, in display fingerprint sensor and notch-less screen
Adding nfc only adds 1$ to the cost.
Yes curves are horrible
I hope they don’t fuck up with L1 certification like they did with PocoF1
5G already fully available
Close to none. I think the leaks said they are priced at ~~$420~~ $380 in china. I think that’s about $50 cheaper than mi 9 with more features…
Did redmi just killed its parent company?
If you buy it in with warranty in your own country they’ll fix it.
Agree. Even my mi 5s plus with a tiny bit or curved screen still gets accidental touch (plus touch screens on other areas don’t work when youu do that) when i squeeze with one hand while typing
They also invest insane amount of money in R&D
Thusday: USA declares war on MIUS Pro. American soldiers could not see through the thick blanket of ads.
I think he/she is referring to the economics of scale. Basically they’re big enough that production costs per phone are quite low.
Plus, their profit margin on phone hardware was promised to be 5%, I’m sure they’re still following this. Other features such as having wireless charging, Corning Glass backs, Super AMOLED displays are costs that add up and add to the price of the phone. The little features people care less about than actual paper specs that most manufacturers sell you on (e.g. SD 855, 4000mah, etc)
Xiaomi really think about users tho. I’m gonna get one soon
Friday: Xiaomi launches PocoUS F5, competing itself.
No but ok
Oof yeah no wireless charging. Back into a dilemma. Do i choose bigger battery, headphone jack or wireless + faster charging
I did, but there are no optical zoom sensors, right?
I agree, although optical zoom cameras are good to have. Any info on the OIS?
It won’t be bigger in your hand. You’re getting a bigger screen in a smaller body size.
Right. I can’t use big phones, but this is full screen and you are right.
The way I’m gonna use it is not as a main source of charging. It’s whenever i put down my phone, instead of letting it idle I’ll just charge it. If I’m in a hurry I’ll use wired all the time
If they do get ip certification it’ll cost alot tho
If not certification. Atleast they can build it splash and waterproofed
So a MiPod Touch?
Or less
Wrong
Or they are pricing aggressively and not gouging their customers like Apple etc. are doing?
Yes but with good WiFi pls
