My selfie camera is stuck open on my mi 9t, doesn’t make any noises and it still takes pictures, any ideas?

Try to simulate dropping it?
Have you tried like letting the phone fall so it retracts automatically?
Hahahahah you sir get an upvote for creativity
BAD BOT BUT NOT WHEN I USE MY FINGER TO GET IT IN
I have a 9T and I’m terrified reading this thread 😮
Didn’t work.
Or run a diagnostics by going to settings about phone clicking on the kernel a bunch of times until it opens up you’re diagnostic page and then test your camera’s functionality along with other hardware in your device…..delete and remove any data or apps of camera applications that you’ve downloaded in order to fix your device and reboot your device. Before doing the diagnostics and troubleshooting your phone’s hardware. And then uninstall the latest phones camera software and then go ahead and update it to the current version and then shoot your phone because downloading extra apps can possibly interfere with the results from diagnostics.
#I’VE DONE THIS, MONTHS AGO, AND I’VE BROKEN MY PRESSURE SENSOR 😂 NOW MY CAMERA CLOSES ITSELF ONLY WHEN FALLS (GYROSCOPE), BUT NOT WHEN I USE MY FINGER TO GET IT IN
\> you can suck air
i lol’d
Thanks, I have already restarted it and it didn’t help. I have tried many different camera apps
Most custom ROMs use the manufacturers drivers and firmwares, so support for low level hardware like this should be baked in. Hardware upport in apps (switching between multiple cameras, or S Pen right click menu, for example) is another story.
what fixed it ? I’m scared for mine if it happened
Don’t use force, just use bigger hammer.
More mechanical failure points is never a good thing.
I guess pushing it in is a short-term solution but your selfies only going to get worse as the time goes on so maybe try not to use it as much. Until you can either open your phone up and clean the parts or replace it
Do I have a pop-up camera phone? Lol no
I just watch too much of [JerryRigEverything](https://www.youtube.com/c/JerryRigEverything)
Mine is a 3 year old Xiaomi
thanks, I don’t know why I didn’t see it first. maybe he edited his message
Next time don’t push it down.
User this app.

It still works in all custom ROMs I have tried
it’s got a chubbie for first time, ng’awwwww
Well the gesture and status bar give me the idea that you are not on stock. Many 9T/9T Pro ROMs have this thing where they just ‘forget’ to retract the camera. It doesn’t happen that often, for some it doesn’t at all. Now I know that you fixed it, but it might happen again.
If it does, search for the motor app, if there’s an OxygenOS port thread on xda you might find a link there, OOS ports are known for this.
Yup, back when I was flashing fucky ROMs it used to happen to my Mi 9T. But I guess most reliable ROMs would have this fixed by now.
\*chucks it on the bed, bounces off the bed onto the hardfloor\* HEHE
if it no longer comes out, you can suck air from the camera to let it go out
As somebody who doesn’t care about taking selfies, and who likes beautiful full screen displays, and hates camera notches, it’s the greatest idea ever.
Just push it down with gentle force until it starts to go down itself.
There are also apps that execute the command to go down (take a look at XDA), but pushing it in is the easiest way.
Thanks, but that what i usually do 😂😂, just let it fall on the bed or something
i think you should push It down
Congratulations, it’s a boy.
Thanks, this is the first time this has happened on ant of my ROMs. I tried to use the motor app but that didn’t work.
ok now I’m crying
Reboot
I’ve had that bug in reverse with GCAM but it goes away after a restart
A mechanical camera was always such a stupid idea.
Just turn it off and wait a few minutes then turn it back on…..if that doesn’t work then take it to a repair center.
That sounds like job for……..ur mom.
ohgod, think i’ll stick to a drop notch ..
im looking for a new phone with IR blaster, so looking others and xiaomi, but some of their cameras are give or take…
probably there is an hardware problem, you can also use tweezers to raise the camera
yeah i got that but why would gyro work, but physically pushing it in shouldn’t? 🤣
I guess when it’s been in my pocket for that long…
it’s just your phone having a boner. ok sorry am a little high here
lol wut?
I still sounds normal so I don’t think there is dirt in there. If there was it would sound weird
Why would the mechanical lift have anything to do with the camera sensor output quality?
forreal ?
I’m not sure if this feature also applies to phone with the camera malfunctioning and stuck in the open position you would probably just risk damaging the camera even further.
Yay 🙂
Also if a different ROM has been installed the likelihood of this feature being supported and working if a different operating system has been installed is highly unlikely.
It is a feature. Most, if not all, phones with pop-up cameras are programmed to retract when it detects falling.
Ok thanks for all the help, It has fixed now. You guys were right it need to be pushed fully in. 🙏🏻👍
>Ok thanks for all the help, It has fixed now. You guys were right it ***need to be pushed fully in.*** 🙏🏻👍
YOU HAVE ONE?
think i might stick with drop notch ..
Yes I have restarted it, I don’t want to push it down until there is no other option
Yeah there’s that. I didn’t know if it was a custom ROM. Still not sure if it is either. But I think a well maintained ROM should cover that.
Reset it maybe
Push harder.
It’s probably just dirt and dust that’s gotten in there and also from the camera opening and popping out and hid into your device continuously every time you take a selfie is a f****** dumb idea and worst case scenario you can either open up your phone and desolder the camera completely to disable it from a self ie stick or take your phone apart and clean it with alcohol and next time don’t buy a phone with mechanical xamera
I mentioned it as another way to make the system retract the camera on its own without any external force. I don’t see how that risks damage. I didn’t mean to actually let the phone fall to the ground, which would obviously damage it.
Most devices probably don’t have a ROM supporting a mechanical camera because most phones don’t have a pop-up selfie camera so the likelihood of these rooms supporting this and devices is unlikely
😂😂👋🌊
