Redmi Note 10 user here. My phone has suddenly become extremely slow. Some apps (including Instagram, Youtube or Gallery) take ages to open (5-10 minutes without being able to do absolutely anything with my phone because if I click out and try to launch another app that weird information box that is impossible to get rid of (App stopped responding) pops up).
I’ve noticed that not all apps do this, but even apps like settings take way too long to open. This started happening the one day my phone completely died – first time in maybe 2 years (I didn’t make it to the charger in time)
I constantly have around 3GB free ram and I also have almost 50GB free rom.
Any help? Any idea what might be causing this? Is it time to get a new phone? Thank you all for help.
TLDR: Certain apps take up to 10 minutes to open, this was never happening before.
I am really thankful for your help and your time but I really do not want to do something like this. For a phone that I am already planning to replace soon I think I can survive 4 months with a slow phone, because having to spend two days backing up, reinstalling everything and making sure all my data went through.
You’ll have to switch device someday. Try and find a reliable solution to backup your data and proceed with resetting the phone. Even then 10min to load an app is not normal considering you have enough free ram and storage.
There is a small chance it’s hardware problem (motherboard). So a full backup is recommended.
there are certain apps i use that do not have any login system – therefore there’s no way to recover data if they are lost – it’s not that many apps but i use them soooo
also i’m thinking – it’d delete all of my apps which i’m certain aren’t stored in storage/emulated/* directory, so i’d have to reinstall them all… bro i have so many apps that would take ages
What data exactly are you worried about?
Well what if I don’t want to lose my data? That’s a weird pay off you know.
By data I mean your files. Move them to a PC or pen drive. It’s not easy to backup app data. You might lose some. But I guarantee you, you’re phone will be as good as new
I’m afraid of this option because I doubt that if I back up my data and then restore it, my phone will be in the exact same state (when it comes to contents) as before – since I’ve done it once (on a Lenovo) and I lost access to my data
Just do a factory reset.
