Band is OFF.
It´s not normal to measure anything.
Band knows it´s OFF.
Normal, my mi band, suunto & apple watch does that often to check if they are not on my wrist.
But it will still try to measure it
A year ago, I actually put the Huawei band on a potato and checked the heart rate. I remember that the heart rate was something between 67-70 :))
You’re correct as well. If it’s not on your wrist they’ll not detect any heart rate
I have Band 4 and it do the same, and it’s normal
The band will do the rate ever 1 minutes (or the time you choose from the settings).
If you want it to stop constantly checking try placing over a towel, clothe, anything that covers the whole sensor. For my Band 3 that stops the constant waste of battery while showering but I don’t know of that will work on the band 5.
ALSO try actually turning it off from the band menu, if you having it off your arm for a long time
Exactly, the detection frequency can be set 1Min, 5Min, 10Min or every 30Mins. The watch doesn’t detect if you’re wearing the watch during the time you set it to detect, it just checks your heart rate.
Because he doesn’t quote the wrong statement lol.
Whenever it feels shaking, it starts monitoring, thinking you’re exercising. It also does this at random to check whether you’re wearing it or not.
I think they do detect that they’re not on your wrist.
I don’t have heart rate on anymore but when I did it would stop flashing the green light eventually when it was sitting on my desk.
At least until something shook it.
Yes it’s normal. When you set heart rate or sleep monitoring always on it does that. It’s normal.
Yea even in the mi hand 4. I don’t think it’s the heart rate. It’s checking your steps.
I once put my Mi Band 2 on a cup of cocoa and it measured heart rate.
Ow no, China wants to know ur heart rate
Yeap, it looks pretty normal to me, I have a fossil watch and it does the same most of the time.
I don’t think this is correct. AFAIK, sleep measurements come from the accelerometer. In the same way the band can detect a specific movement of your arm during a sport or exercise, it can detect when you’re lying down for long periods, and measures you’re REM sleep based off your movements. Also, the band knows exactly what time it is!
The heart rate sensor coming on like this is most likely background heart rate measurements. It’s the same on my Fossil Sport WearOS watch, and will be the same on the Apple Watch, Fitbit, etc. The heart rate sensor turns on every ~20 minutes to take a reading, which builds up a graph of your heart rate throughout the day.
You can turn off continuous / background heart rate monitoring in settings.
Every fitness band does that occasionally. It’s normal.
Ah okay I get it, sorry for misunderstanding
I don’t know either
Why is everyone downvoting you.
He was probably talking about: “it does not know what time it is”
This is called continuously heart measuring. It’s normal
But it does know what time it is.
My mi band 4 does it too. If the band detects any movement, it starts the heartbeat monitor, if you keep it still for a couple seconds it stops.
it can be used for many thing, regular heart check
checking if you sleepy or not checking if you still have the band on your arms or not etc..
Yes
Oh ok, thanks
No
Legit what he said, it’s just a watch and therefore it doesn’t know if you have it on or not, I don’t get the point of your comment
It’s a watch…
Yes, it happens to my Mi Band 5 too. You can turn it off in the Mi Fit app under Heart rate monitoring.
If you got a timer on it, yes it is normal
+1.
Well, the band doesn’t know that is of the hand, so starts measuring whenever it is set to do it.
My mi band 4 do the same
