It truly is something special. This is an medium flagship at the price of a midrange/upper-midrange smartphone.
It’s running the global ROM of MIUI 12 and I’ve seen no ads or whatsoever. Where am I even supposed to find them? In system apps? I’ve found nothing as of yet. As for the “bloat” it had netflix, Facebook and WPS Office installed (I’ve heard about it before, it’s a pretty Chinese MS Office counterpart)
Typing feels amazing on this phone, the camera is really sharp. The display is amazingly smooth and if you ever decide to run dark mode then good news because the blacks are quite deep (not as deep as an AMOLED but it doesn’t hurt my eyes like AMOLED does. Also, the backlight of LCDs always prevents some overreflection on the screen, contrary to AMOLED which shuts down pixels completely therefore it will reflect more)
The performance is undeniably flagship fast, I don’t need to mention it. The charging is fast (I will have to learn battery life and charging times for this one!) And the battery life is just insane (144Hz).
From my first impressions it’s an amazing phone, just like I expected it to be, and I am completely happy with my purchase.
Good IPS panels are still horrible compared to OLED. 1500:1 contrast ratio is very good for IPS.
OLED has infinite. VA has 6000:1.
The actual advantage of OLED is literally every aspect of how it looks. Perfect local dimming, perfect uniformity, perfect input latency. No IPS comes close. The worst OLED is superior to the best IPS phones by far.
The Poco F2 and the k30 ultra have the pop-up cameras.
I had this phone briefly. It was nearly perfect, but weight and size killed it for me. I unfortunately returned it.
Any disadvantages you notice after disabling it?
7.4 is confirmed working, here’s a list of APK’s that I have used on my 9T Pro and Mi 10 Pro.
7.6 is out but I have yet to test.

I just uploaded a video of what happens in my last post. I tried using swift key and boom boot loop
Just a heads up. If you update to the latest firmware you might need to reset your phone once. It can cause boot loops. I would recommend resetting before you start using it Full time.
Yeah but they have more disadvantages. Color shifting, sun reflections, accidental touches, less durable..
Phone is 499 euros on amazon in europe
Look, mate, I love OLED as much as the next guy, but seeing all your comments in this thread I think you should ease up a little. Of course OP is gonna have a bias towards IPS cause he bought a brand new phone with IPS. In the end all the back and forth arguments add very little to constructive discussion.
Same exact feeling when I got my 9T Pro back in October of last year. Now waiting on the 11T Pro and I am sure I’ll get the same feeling.
Mine is 650 8GB+256GB but it came with an electric scooter which price is 350. A very solid deal from xiaomi.
Front facing camera doesnt raise like the mi9t? Any new xiaomi phones still use this?
Makes no sense, amoled has far more uniformity, IPS is the irregular one. You must have an issue with the PWM dimming. But Xiaomi has an option to turn on dc dimming. So there is no issue with oled.
I was hoping for the 10t pro to be that phone. There’s nothing else currently available that’s in mind. My 9t pro is still solid, no lags nothing. So, this wasn’t a forced upgrade anyways.
Pls test gcam with sabre super zoom on, even witthout telephoto 25mp OIS coupled with gcam and super res zoom by google it can do 5x lossless zoom
Based on review the stock can do 3x zoom lossless and almost neck to neck with 3x optical zoom 8 mp 1.22 um s20fe telephoto camera (youtube forget the link)
The colours are much better on OLED I have no idea what you are talking about. What IPS panel has 10 bit colour? None. Many high end OLED are 1b colours / 10bit. Also OLED viewing angles are way better.
OLED vs IPS dimness is entirely based on the panel and no IPS panel can go over 1000 nits like top end OLED can.
Perfect input latency is within 16ms (1 frame). OLED can do that easily (1-5ms). IPS rarely can.
The only circumstance IPS wins in is burn in. But with gesture nav and MIUI pixel shifting I have yet to encounter any burn in.
I mean like during streaming or watching offline videos etc. There has to be something. I was actually looking forward to it 😅😅
480 euros is expensive af (at least for me) ill stick to collecting money for poco f2 pro thats 355 euros
i think xiaomi took the criticisms and community feedbacks seriously in putting ads in system apps. even in my k30 Ultra i dont even encounter single unrecognizable ads. i even monitor it with net graph if their is unattended spikes of use of internet. but its none.
I personally like the colours of IPS panels way more, but the blacks of OLEDs look better.
IPS panels reach higher levels of brightness as well though. OLED’s often look way too “dim” for my taste.
“Perfect input latency” – well, it’s better than IPS, yes, but perfect is something different.
: ( Thanks. Sounds like a great phone though. Watched a review.
Mate, you like OLED and he likes IPS. There’s no need to defend to the death and prove the other party wrong.
Try looking at the price of a top end OLED display. It costs more than your life is worth in some countries.
Also consumers don’t always buy IPS at all. People are buying OLED tvs like the LG CX and ditching crappy IPS monitors.
I use a Sony X950H VA LCD TV as a monitor. It is much better than any pc monitor.
So it’s simply not true that they use IPS. IPS monitors are low end. High end users use VA LCD FALD tvs and OLED monitors and TVs. Monitor tech is so dated and crappy these days.
I don’t have this phone (Mi 9 Lite here), but places I’ve seen ads in Xiaomi phones are:
\- App folders on the home screen when you have “Promoted apps” active.
\- App vault (I always have this one disabled)
\- Themes and Wallpaper apps
\- Mi file Manager
Outside of that, I’ve never seen any ads on my phone. They tend to be only on Xiaomi/Mi apps.
Awesome. Glad to hear theyre not being eliminated.
curved displays have very little advantages. or none at all. It’s just more expensive and “aesthetic”
I am stating facts. If you think that is a defence then that speaks volumes that reality lines up with what I am saying. I will not stay silent when someone makes a statement that is false.
Once you install GCam the photos look better than iphone 11 pics.
i just wish they just added ip68 to this.
I also ordered the mi 10T pro, with the Black Friday £200 discount. I am trying to test it out. It’s a really chunky phone, tall and heavy. SO, coming from the Poco F1, I am trying to get used to the size. The cameras seem good, but I will test it out more over the next few days. One thing I noticed, the HEIC compressed image is really impressive. 24MP image from the main sensor in JPG is around 7-8MB, and in HEIC is less than 2MB. I will try and compare the image quality.
BTW, is there any way to enable the rear cameras in GCAM other than the main sensor?
I have the latest GCAM 7.4, that the telegram group suggested, but can’t seem to be able to enable the rear cameras.
Jesus Christ.
How is the wide angle? Mi 10 wide is probably the worst I’ve seen on a smartphone
I agree, although I’ll be getting poco f2 pro
The OLED eye strain is caused 100% by PWM. Xiaomi has an option to turn off PWM. Simple.
Yeh its a good phone. I’m only look to replace it as ive cracked the screen and the back is glass is falling off. Debating between Nord, F2Pro and X3. None are perfect though, the F2 Pro probs being the best but not a huge upgrade over the 9Tpro.
I’ve been planning to switch to the same phone, currently running a 9t pro. But i found 3 things which turned me down.
1. No amoled, the true blacks are great. LCD can never match that.
2. No wireless charging, i wanted to switch to wireless but this phone doesn’t have it.
3. Saw reviews where people criticized the cameras. They’re just meh apparently.
I’m in the exact same position and would love wireless charging again. Are there any phones you’re thinking of/waiting for?
Oled uniformity in darkness is very bad… It is by far worse than most LCD phones. The main problem with modern LCD is the shadowing around the punch hole and bottom, but overall it is more uniform than recent oleds. My mi 9t pro and OnePlus 8 pro had clear uniformity issues at low brightness (green tints)
Can you use YouTube vanced?
Damn idk what to say
Hows the memc feature bro? Any goods or bads about it?
wasn’t an issue for me on Samsung S8
the phone feels way more premium with curved edges.
Congrats man! I was supposed to get my Mi 10 Ultra yesterday but shipping delay has caused it to arrive next monday instead. Does the 10T Pro come with a case in the box?
I get 10-13 hours SOT with DC dimming enabled 100% of the time and I have zero burn in after 3 months.
How is the front camera? I have an iphone x and want to change it to mi 10t pro. Is it reliable like iphones? You know most of the android phones have saturated or beautified selfie pictures. I’d be really appreciated if you answer.
For every xiaomi phone or just Mi 10t pro?
My note 9 pro has netflix app pre installed too? How do I activate or why didn’t they tell anyone about this?
It’s just a product bro
my minor gripe about it that it doesn’t have curved display.
Now im using mi note 10 and it is updated by miui12… Unfortunately i m facing so many problem there…such like display flicking is too much… For that reason i want to downgrade miui 11 is it possible for my device??? Plz help me…give me a better solution….
I’ve had it for more than a week. The speed and display is insane. I tried using my older 60hz phone and it felt like every touch was a lag, lol. Battery life is amazing too, constantly getting 7-8 hours SOT before needing a charge. you’re right, never seen an ad since I opened it, and most bloat apps could be removed by a simple uninstall
Okayy okayy
The Mi 10T Pro doesn’t have telephoto, but with 27MP/108MP you can easily crop. Still annoying imo. Optical zoom would’ve been better.
The camera is really good for the price though. Some “reviewers” talk a lot. 🙂
Good IPS panels have better contrasts and less ghosting on the blacks, but for some reason people always believe OLED must be better, meanwhile on the desktop segment IPS is still ahead. Bad IPS panels can look bad tho. The actual advantage of an OLED is being more efficient, but the Mi 10T Pro has good battery life anyway. You CAN’T use an always on display with IPS displays though. :/
The Mi10T Pro doesn’t support wireless charging, correct.
But why consumers always pick IPS in desktop display?
Are you coming from an amoled phone? If so would you prefer it to be amoled or is it dark enough for you? What about using it at night?
Have been looking at getting a new phone but coming from an amoled I fear I won’t like the LCD.
I had Mi10T pro next to my Mi9T and all three people in room said colors on Mi9T look better.
