Ah, sorry. I know how to check, I just didn’t have the phone with me.
It’s on MIUI 11.0.2.0 Global, Android 7 Nougat (NRD90M).
I can only imagine how long this phone will still last for with custom ROMs. It will just never die! 😀

I’m still using my 5 year old Mi Max. No major issues with it, knock on wood.
How can yours by 2 years old?
[Redmi 8 – Release date: October 2019](https://phonesdata.com/en/smartphones/xiaomi/redmi-8-5458370/)
My Redmi Note 4 also is going for 3.5 years and still working great
Of course it will works, its only 2 years!
its GBoard
I have shaped it through the customisation settings as I like it is really os you could do it yourself if you search it up a little bit 🙂
Fair comment, but it’s not been my experience before I discovered Xiaomi. Previously, I’d get the latest Samsung galaxy s phone every 2 years on contract. After about 18 months, the phone would be on its l
ast legs. I had the galaxy s2/s4/s6/s8, and they all became laggy, glitchy and had a battery life of about 4 hours towards the end of the 2 years.
My Xiaomi mi 8 pro lasted me over 2 years. I only replaced it with a 10t because I dropped it and smashed the screen.
Mi mix 2s is too, looks like i managed to skip the notch era. I’m planning on keeping mine for a while yet. Seems there is little benefit in buying a new model. Ordered a new battery hopefully it wont be a crappy one.
Wow I have gboard and mine looks like crap
My 8t is, phones are meant to last you more than that, your point?
Redmi Note 8 Pro,started on Christmas day of 2019. Works like a charm and I’m typing this right now with that phone.
I’m not saying they always do, I’m saying they always should
I have a custom rom (evolution X) wich shows it int the battery settings but there are apps that can show you your battery health
Still on stock ROM or have you swapped it for a custom ROM?
My poco F1 is still capable of games like asphalt 9 at max graphics
How is battery doing after 2 years?
4 years here on Redmi Note 3 pro
Using my redmi note 2 atm
Still rocking a 3 year old nokia 6.1 and a 4 year old Mi A1. Both are still working good. But my main phone now is my turning 1 year old realme 5 pro.
As a person who’s rocking a Nexus 6P, I have to disagree.
edit: I consciously chose to rock a nexus 6p downgrading from an iphone 6s because I enjoyed android. Roms are great for extending the life of old phones!
Specific number of the Android version? If so,it should say in the About section of the Settings app.
Oooh, nvm 🙂 I misread you. I though you were saying the opposite of what you were actually saying. I actually agree with you, phones should last a long time.
Thanks i hope your phone last as well
I have the original battery still, purchased the phone in November 2018 and the estimated battery health is 78% according to EvolutionX (3157/4021MaH)
It can barely get me through the day if I don’t use the camera.
Performance is still phenomenal for the price though!
hell yeah, my mi mix 3 is too although the battery amount is degraded to almost half left.
Me too! But mine has started shutting off at 42%. Still love it though!
My RN7 is still going strong too, but going stronger with EvolutionX, runs like a brand new phone plus instagram camera app works surprisingly great. Definitely looking forward for another 2 years with it.
Actually really really good
Yes considering the Redmi 8 sold for about $150. Cheap phones used to be very bad quality wise.
Ive still got an og xperia x1 somewhere, slide out kb and all. An awkward transitional stage for sony Ericsson who ditched symbian uiq for windows mobile, it was made by htc.
Mine’s redmi note 6 pro, and still kicking
Original, works perfectly fine
RIP 🙁
No, still using MUI. I was thinking of going with a custom ROM to see if I can squeeze a bit more lifespan into the phone, but I think it’s near time to just buy a new phone.
Maybe you didn’t updated it or your theme is different.
Well thanks Xiaomi for making actually good phones in a budget price (looking at you, Huawei)
What’s your keyboard?
Same here! My battery has 2334mah left from the original 3400mah. I’m not sure if I would buy a new battery as I don’t know how long the phone will last and I don’t wan’t to have a useless impact on environment by wasting a battery. I have around 4h SOT now, how’s yours? I’m interested how much different the new battery will make!
My Redmi 4x still works after almost 4 years, just switched to a new phone tho
My Redmi Note 4X is still going. I don’t get saying “it’s still going!” for hardware that isn’t at least 4 years old tbh. I mean even warranty is about 1-2 years these days
Note 8t..had almost a year.. Had to roll back to Android 9 MIUI 11 but apart from that all good.. No reason to upgrade anytime soon for my needs
My Mi Note 3 is 3 yrs now. Still kicking and feels like new except for the battery.
I am still on the original one and still holds up to 2 days of moderate usage. Im just a casual user..calls, social media and playing music while on transit.
I do remember it having more juice in the past but no need for me to replace it for now
Still got my note 6 pro
Surprised it got MIUI12
My note 4 is on its death bed. Bottom of the screen is flickering and it shuts off at the slightest bump. 🙁
As you may see mine is really really good 🙂
redmi note 8 here 1 year and still working great 😊
I’m using Note 4X, will hit 4 years of use this May. Still on MIUI 9.3 haven’t updated since.
My redmi 5 is still going.
my note 5 pro (whyred) works just as new
I mean, it’s just 2 years old, of course it should still be going.
The latest official MIUI version is MIUI 11.0 running on Android 7 Nougat.
Don’t know the specific version number, but it’s the most watered-down version you can get, as it’s based on Nougat.
It’s still going strong! My mother uses it and she hasn’t had a single problem with it.
I can see that man, good for you! 🙂
And the battery? Have you replaced it? Or you still have the original?
Same!
I’m still enjoying my xiaomi mi a1. I have lineageos on it and hoping to get a few more years out of it at least.
I’m lucky that my battery is still in decent condition after all these years. I really wish Xiaomi didn’t drop the Mi Max line. I haven’t found a modern phone with a similar sized screen with the same quality, performance and affordability of the Mi Max.
I want to see how long my phone lasts on its last official update. Could be MiUI 13 or 14
Redmi note 4x still going and the battery lasts for a day,i just bought mi 10t pro because i wanted a new phone and i gave my old device to my father
I have the mi a2 Lite and it’s still going strong, besides the poor ram optimizations
My redmi k20 pro still going strong. No notch, black OLED? What a beast.
I have a Redmi Note 5, nearing 3 years already. Seriously never had any issues with it, still as good as new
I had to reset mine because it didn’t want to cooperate at all and I have it since the summer of 2020
Got the Mi 10t lite for my wife and she loves it! She was apprehensive about the size(coming from MiA2) but it’s not a concern at all now.
Fantastic value for money IMO, great phone.
Everything is original i haven’t had to change anything
Redmi 7 here. Hoping to get another year or two out of it.
As ilica1407 said it Gboard
Is a phone functioning for 2 years noteworthy now?
What version of MiUI is it running? I’m curious.
I bought a Redmi 9 and it was super slow. Slower than my Nexus 6. I then bought a Poco X3 and it was definitely a worthy upgrade.
