Will redmi note 8 pro recieve this update
That happened to every Android phone. Xiaomi can’t really fix the launcher thing.
12.5.1 is broken, extremely slow on my phone and full screen gestures are completely broken on 3rd party launchers.

I’m not making excuses I’m explaining the cause and effect of how they operate.
But flagship phones do get priority you just have to wait.
Also did you know depending on your network provider they could slow down the updates?? It’s stupid I know.
Basically your phone SHOULD have it but the network provided is being sloppy so the updates are rolling in slower in batches
No, what I meant is that you’re trying to use that as some sort of excuse. It’s not that it’s not true. Just a poor way to flip something like it into an excuse.
More models = more software versions. No wonder the software updates come so slow. It’s not a good excuse and shouldn’t be used as one
I made up?

Don’t forget the china counterparts and how different regions have different roms.
Xiaomi cater to every single class, price, type of user.
Which is good for users because we have more options ALSO at the most competitive prices.
Also allows people with specific needs to get what they want.
From eSports pros.
Camera enthusiasts.
Vloggers.
Videographers.
Photographers.
Power users.
Business oriented users.
Tech enthusiasts.
Budget users.
Average users.
They cater to all people, from the less fortunate to those willing to spend lots of money.
Xiaomi helps a lot of people have access to so much things because of the really competitive prices and that they are all over the world.
The way they operate relying mostly on online sales is very complex this they have to split up some roms.
Your point doesn’t make it better. I don’t believe having dozens of models is a good thing, actually. What a poor lame excuse you just made up
Okay I dare you to google how many models and phones apple ships globally vs Xiaomi, then you’d understand.
Not many people consider all the factors it’s very easy for people to simplify and think it’s easy.
Yes when I had my rn9 pro,it used to drain 1 or 2% too
I’m still stuck in MIUI 11 🙁
Are xiaomi updates even fixing anything? Lmao
Damn, I’m still running 12.0.3.0 on my Mi 11 Global.
my xiaomi mi 8 lite just showed up to update to MIUI 10, could anyone explain to me why this is?
jeeeeez. i haven’t had the majority of these at all. I feel lucky now.
I don’t recall where but the first wave has already started and the second wave starts at the end of Q2.
How to check the waves?😂
Never expect on time anything from Xiaomi, it not Apple which will released anything on time they mention
so far so good
Not sure if you are just slow and playing dumb on purpose. The gestures worked before, now they don’t. Xiaomi is not doing anything about it. A clear con. Even a fanboy like you must understand that the competitor Samsung got it working on their phones.
Your reading comprehension is lacking. Don’t change the topic to argue a point so that you can evade the real problem. I told you how the situation is regarding the removed Google services. How a massive Xiaomi fanboy like you can be in these forums for years and claim to not notice it is really weird. It seems like you want to pretend it is not happening. Are you on Xiaomi’s payroll?
uh would be cool get MIUI 13 on my MI 9SE! the last “small” phone
So Samsung can do it, Xiaomi should also make sure that features are not removed from their devices. It was discussed several times here that Xiaomi has started removing Google Services from a number of phones. This concerns especially users in Asia that buy their phones from China. Its hundreds of thousands of potential customers. The Google services for many phones only work until the last before Miui 12.5. From 12.5 on Xiaomi removes them in many phones, hence taking a feature away that they sold the phones with.
So I was correct and you not. Now you know.
That’s why I always use the beta as it works like champ
I hate how they forget about global versions whatsoever with these update, I recently bought a poco x3 pro and its running on 12.0.5.0. the phone doesn’t even support 4G LTE. Horribly disappointed.
I just told you it still works with Samsung phones. I have both here next to me. And it’s no secret that Google services have been removed from some phones. It’s not even a secret here in this sub.
Why do you try to misinform visitors of this sub?
That’s incorrect. Gestures on third party launchers don’t work anymore (they do with with Samsung phones so it’s Xiaomi’s fault) and Google services are removed from some phones with Miui 12.5.
Please don’t spread misinformation.
I was thinking the same
Yep, I don’t know aswell, as I never owned a Vivo device but reviews seem good.. 🤭 I already been with both Samsung and Apple, a bit bored of their devices and software 😅
How is the update for you?
The list is fake. It’s just a click bait article.
Same!
I hope the camera motor keeps working.
Not sure if that’s better, lol. Seems like Samsung or Apple are way safer bets.
Narrator: They didn’t.
Except iOS works and xiaomi keeps removing stuff that worked when you bought the phone.
It sounds funny but this is what actually might happen.
The first time I’m having this many issues with a phone. What is xiaomi doing? Keep gestures working and keep Google services working also for phones outside of China, Xiaomi.
Can’t recommend the phones like that.
You can see it on the miui website or the piunika web website
How do you guys know which wave you are in?
I think it’s at the bottom of the MiUI website.
Mi 10t
I did. Ironically, I just woke up after 8 hours sleep and the battery discharge was 7%, most of it being phone idle and cell standby.
* Broken sharing functions
* Constant screen refresh animation when using apps
* Shorter battery life (especially after 12.2.5)
* Broken Chat bubbles, which constantly appear, are hard to interact with and get flung to corners of the screen where they become unresponsive and I need to reboot my phone.
* Plenty of connectivity problems for apps that can only be resolved by finding that super-hidden settings menu where Data and Wifi permissions are given to apps (and often change on their own).
* Regular full OS crashes before the last update. I ran my phone for a month with no reboots and then had to reboot once every 2 days after the previous update.
* Broken Google Phone calls so that when they arrive nothing is shown but an answer button which is unresponsive and will brick the phone, making me lose plenty of calls.
* All my permissions and notifications settings reset at least once without me doing anything.
* Broken app windows
* Android updates are pathetic for a flagship device like the F2 Pro is for POCO, with security updates coming 4 months late regularly. (Have been on 01 Feb for only a couple of weeks).
* Glitchy always-on display which is likely what’s draining my battery at night (some 10% a night), even though it’s supposed to switch off in the dark. It’s also almost always too faint to see despite the lack of sunlight.
* Finicky rotation sensor resulting in the phone screen rotating horizontally when I unlock it from sitting on my table.
* Super glitchy dark mode on other apps
* Plenty finicky/imprecise finger print sensor.
* Double-tap to lock clashes with MIUIs own calculator widget so writing 2 numbers means your phone screen will lock.
These are just the ones I can recall/have had most recently.
In the past, I have also had
* Broken apps
(Opening YouTube from Reddit link bricked everything)
* Broken global dark mode
* Issues with opening links from any app
* Full phone crashing when sharing from other apps or opening links within apps.
(on a side note) a camera app with 3 menus is beyond stupid and takes forever to find anything.
F2 Pro would you have been a better option no? Basically an updated 9t.
What issues have you been having? My F2 Pro was fine until the update to 12.2.5 which broke full screen gestures and now randomly the bottom right corner of my fine becomes nearly unresponsive, which can be fixed by restarting the phone.
yep, my bad. It was 12.2.5.,and it allowed me to go to 12.2.6. after it as well.
and nothing of value was lost that day
I hope so
I hope they will fix the full screen gestures so I can use nova again
Where can you see which wave you’re in?
I have a redmi note 10 4g.
There’s no 12.5 update for the EU Poco F2 Pro available yet. Not in beta and certainly not in stable.
Europe.
I think this region stuff is pure garbage, you don’t see Apple pull this crap (or others even)
Do you mean 12.2.5? Because 12.5 isn’t available for Poco F2 on non-china rom yet
After the update be like: “Guys, I updated to MIUI 13 but the apps are negative colored and people hear me on call only if I speak mandarin Chinese. Plz help”
I’ll be waiting for the full development of under display camera. Till then imma sticking to my 9T pro.
I think it’s just for the weekly updates. They will get stable MIUI 12.5.
still waiting for 12.5 mfs
too little to late.. plan to switch to Vivo ✌️
What phone do you have. I personally didn’t want to wait so I flashed chines Rom
Yeah, my redmi k30 ultra is awesome
Exactly… Hardware is like too good but software is too awful..
Can anyone give me an aproximate release of 12.5 on the redmi note 8 pro? Region is europe
Still waiting for Android 11 on my POCO X3. What a terrible brand they are!
Me too, I have the mi 10t pro and I still don’t have the 12.5, I’m not really excited for the 13 if it’s as bad as the 12.1 update
What region you at?
‘A couple of devices like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 series and the Mi CC9e had recently been dropped from the MIUI 12.5’
😭
I moved from the redmi note 9 pro to the mi 10t. Since the MIUI 12.1.1 update, there’s been an issue of Gaussian blur in the notifications and 5 to 6 percent battery drain overnight, while my 9 pro used to discharge by a maximum of 2 to 3 percent.
I love my Redmi Note 9, but after the first few updates all they have been doing is cut corners because “its a bug and well fix it later”. Like the blank notification center and removed swipe gesture bar.
I sure hope so. This unnecessary battery drain is annoying.
Then should hopefully arrive in the next days to few weeks. Also depends on region.
I have a Mi 10t currently.
Well, Mi 11 and 10 models were in the first wave. Redmi devices start in the second wave(second half of 2021, around end of May) which is where my phone is.
Mine is in the first one.
Not for mine, sadly. Even 12 was late by three months when I had the r9 pro.
Update comes in phone batches. How long you have to wait depends on which wave your phone falls in. Mine is in the second wave which hasn’t begun yet.
It depends on your region and which batch your midweek is in. I’m using the Redmi Note 8 Pro and I don’t expect the update to come tomorrow because my respective wave hasn’t begun yet.
MiUI 12.5 is actually releasing ahead of schedule for some phones.
Deleted the previous comment because apparently Mi 11 got the first Global beta 12.5 build 2 days ago. The rest is true though, there is no official 12.5 build for Mi 9T Pro unless you are on xiaomi.eu, which is a custom ROM based on China beta.
Redmi note 8 , yay.
EU
I’m very much on the fence. While being a longtime Xiaomi fan (bought 4 phones for the rest of my family) I was still surprised at how jank and unpolished (or completely broken at times) the experience has been, for a phone that cost me some 370 euros.
Obviously, the value is still high, but I can’t help to feel a bit ripped off when I could’ve just as well had the same performance and issues with a much cheaper phone like the 9T Pro…
My previous phone was a low-mid end 2016 Huawei, also pretty good value (the battery died on me after 4 years tho), although it received maybe 1 update. Still, in 4 years I didn’t see a single bug. Quite a different story with the F2 Pro…
Yes, I meant that
You mean with the F2 Pro?
Me too, it’s a good phone but damn these updates are so slow :/ thought this would be getting the update first
Same thing happened to me. Now they did the same with the F2 pro, shame that it doesn’t have a true successor.
I’m really happy with this phone by the way.
miui working well… how i wish it was true lol
What region are you in? I still got nothing.
If I only could’ve gotten my hands on one. By the time I was looking for a new phone (8 months after release), it was virtually impossible to buy anywhere in Europe, new or used. Xiaomi had intentionally dried up supply to push the more expensive Poco F2 Pro (which I ended up buying) which was basically an identical phone.
Still running 12.0.13 on Mi 11 Global with receive updates early option.
I know what brand of phone I’m not buying next
Works so well.. Not
It’s the same cycle. They announce the devices and dates, but the update drops a month or two late. Love the phones, but they’re cutting corners on software.
Same
Didn’t get a notification for ~~12.5~~ 12.2.5. on my Poco F2 Pro. So I just went and checked and it is available. Downloading right now.
Same here, I’ve been waiting for ages
I’ve been on 12.5 for a while. Maybe try to update manually.
Same. I don’t know how I can go back to punch holes or notches after 9T.
the 9T Pro is the best phone purchase I’ve ever done, including two Nexus generations.
Same here.
Hasn’t it already received 2 major miui update and 1 major android update? For a low level entry device it seems reasonable
I have a mi 9T pro and I’m still waiting for 12.5 and it’s on that list for miui 13
Yeah but I’d like 12.5 first ffs
I really doubt Redmi 8 would get cut so early though
