My POCO F2 Pro has a MI variant and it also has Google Dialer and Messaging apps over MIUI ones so I don’t think that’s the difference between the two.

Ahhh ok, I didn’t realise that. Thanks for sending me the link. I eventually ended up using the stock recovery \[which the update had managed to install over TWRP\] to wipe the phone so I was starting again from MIUI 10. At least I had a working phone again.
I’m back up to MIUI 11 now, will flash TWRP later and see where to go from there. Looks like MIUI 12 isn’t available in the MiRom link you have there but I’m happy to wait after wasting a whole night trying :). Thanks!

EEA roms uses Google messages and contacts because the stock apps has features that isn’t allowed over there i.e voice recording

I wouldn’t recommend it. For me, I have too many important things on my phone & too much stuff that I would need to backup somewhere. I didn’t had anything that was wrong with my MIUI 11 that could affect the newest update. So, I wouldn’t recommend doing so. If you had any problems with MIUI 11, you can do so, but it’s not really 100% sure that the errors can appear in MIUI 12

Oh I see. Well I had my update like 2 weeks ago, officially through the phone itself, and I’ve not been having issues of any kind. No lag, no overheat, no battery drainage. The only thing that actually changed in my 9T Pro was the control center instead of having the drop down bar. Everything else just stayed the same, not better or worse.
People are complaining that after MIUI 12 update, their smartphones have crashes, boot loopers, lags. I still have miui 11 and everything is ok. Waiting for that dangerous miui 12. But I believe that it’ll be ok.
Any idea on what I should do now? I attempted to flash a version I found on XDA, but that’s caused a bootloop. Thankfully I managed to flash TWRP back to the phone using the ADB Xiaomi Debloat tool made by Szaki but when I attempt to restore my nandroid backup it just goes back to the bootloop.

When you download an update via updater you are downloading a ota rom. It doesn’t work with custom recovery because Otay needs its own recovery.
If you want to update with custom recovery you need the recovery rom

Afterwards you may have to flash twrp again.
You also have fastboot roms, these are for flashing with the miui flash tool so you can do a clean flash.
Just be patient, it’s worth it.
There are no issues about that that I’ve seen on the Pro. I have one too and didn’t find any user complaining about battery related stuff. It’s actually one of the best specs it has

Yes, normal mi 9t. Be aware, if you rooted your phone you won’t be able to update using the Update Tool.
As an update, geekbench score suggests, that it’s more optumized, got higher score than Google is showing as avarage

I received it on my Mi 9T this morning in the USA. We may be waiting awhile for the Redmi N9P, it is scheduled in the last wave.
I have not been able to use my N9P due to the camera crashing and for some reason about 40% of my calls go straight to VM…a software update would be very welcome right now.
Surely I will, I just successfully got thru the update process. I will report later after some hours of using it.

If you want to do the OTA rom download it for the correct region.
Go to Settings > About phone > System update and click on the MIUI logo 7-8 times to access recovery options. Staying on the same screen, click on the three-dot menu on the top right and go to Choose update package. Now, navigate to your ota ROM, select the . zip file and hit OK when prompted.

No, I mean, I read that after MIUI 12, these models are complete garbage. Shit battery, crashes, boot loops… I don’t have this update yet. Now, with MIUI 11, my mi 9t pro is great. I’m just afraid of this update in near future.

So, there is no obvious difference in terms of functionality between MI and EU variants? Like China ROM not having Google Play Services and Global ROM missing out a few China ROM specific tricks, like the ones Xiaomi.eu group adds in their ROMs.
I downloaded the ROM using the Updater tool and tried to flash it using TWRP but TWRP said the file was corrupt. I’m guessing I can’t just tap “update” in the Updater app due to me running a custom recovery…

I tried to reboot and that was it. Dead.

It is almost always recommended but the actual benefit of doing so isn’t that certain. Maybe don’t hard reset until you encounter problems. They’ll definetely keep patching.

Video recording is still next to Photo for me, 48 mpx and night mode got pushed under more options.
I wasn’t tracking data usage in the control center, but infos were kept in settings

Notification and control center from 2 different corners, interesting, But I actually like it, cause notifications aren’t gluttered, they are just there to give u notifications.
Floating Windows works like a charm on everything, töö wierd that it’s only 1 app at a time (Samsung had it on touchwiz a long time ago)
Switching between apps, by swiping left or right on the bottom area feels unnatural, cause I was used to swiping from left/right and holding before releasing…. But it actually works faster on miui 12 than 11.
Stock night photo is still carbage.
Had no lags, no hickups thus far.
