I am thinking to buy it and – as an old Xiaomi enjoyer (got three Redmi) – I have a question for you. DO you use Telegram? Does it bug with vocal notes? Like the proximity sensor goes crazy as in all the 3 Xiaomis that I had?
I’ve the same phone miui is the worst regretting why i swichted from samsung.. just hate miui rubbish ui with alot of bugs
I would imagine it’s an OS/hardware-related issue. I have never experienced anything android or launcher-related on Redmi Note 7 and no issues with Poco X3 Pro yet, but I had a couple minor (nonetheless annoying) bugs with Redmi Note 4X: minutes value for alarm in the default Clock app weren’t taken from the current alarm, but we’re stored elsewhere and taken from there (you’d have to set minutes for one manually) and l couldn’t seek, skip part of the song or start from the last position in Google Play Music.
Sorry for you, but now gestures on MIUI are inbuilt in the Launcher.
Then you cant use them without the stock Launcher.

Well I don’t use telegram but I’ve had a few bugs in WhatsApp regarding the proximity sensor (while listening to audio messages). The whole screen turned black and it did eventually turn on but yeah, it can go nuts sometimes. It also happened while in a call. If that’s a deal breaker for you, you might want to consider other options (however these issues seem way less frequent after updating)
Update to latest software safely i was worried about update but my phone is working better with Android 11
