Globally.
Xiaomi ist 100% Manual. While Oppo and Vivo are mechanical.
Xiaomi will make that click when pressed fast enough, as every slider, while the other have an annoying noise.
It’s literally confirmed with videos and so on that the mechanism is full manual and will make that click.
This video is from xiaomi officials
Keep it warm.
I don’t actually know the answer, but I’m assuming the slide will be the face unlock and selfie cam. Not sure there is a huge reason to slide it THAT often otherwise.
New stress reliever here I come!
I am a little concerned that it won’t have a fingerprint scanner. I hope it is on the back or in the screen.
💓
From the leaked hands on videos it’s apparent that it’s OLED
Right.
My body is ready
😃
Anyone know how much the Mi Mix 2 and/or Mix 2s was going for at launch?
I’m starting to think this might be more expensive than the Oneplus 6T!
A question I have, does the back need to be slid out to use the phone? I was hoping I only needed to slide it out when I needed to. The trailer makes it look like you have to slide it to unlock and use it.
Why the bottom bezel makes you happy?
Here you can see and hear an actual video of using the mechanism: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvTulquC1Xo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvTulquC1Xo)
i hope it has an inscreen fingerprint scanner too but so far its only been rumors about the in screen scanner. There was nothing official and what worries me is that in the promotional teasers, they clearly have their thumbs on the screen and the phone didnt do anything until they slide the phone.
My Nokia n95 which was used regularly by different people for about 5+ years is still in perfect condition.
Your wallet too?
Nope. That’s not how it works.
All over globe.
I want it to sound like my car boot closing.
Inscreen
Down or up?
finally i dont have to turn the phone over to take a normal selfie
Many people reported about this, definitely they will come with solution.
It’s a teaser mate. Hold on untill it officialy announced. I’m waiting for like 3 months now since the first rumours. Since then my body and my soul are more than ready! I’ve allready sold my Galaxy S9+ for this one a couple of weeks ago, using my sisters old iPhone 7 since then which makes me seriously desperate
Yeah but I think I’ll get it in another 2 months until the price went down, can’t imagine the markup on the D day
Mix2 was about 450e
It can come to India. Xiaomi’s policy is to release only one flagship. Mix 2 was last year. Mix 2s and mi8 are not launched in India. I am quite positive that this will be launched in India.
Probably will be sold out really fast online anyway in the first few days. I guess you have to go to China to be 100% sure to get it really fast…
Hope it comes to Europe as quickly as possible.
OnePlus 6t is babe, wait if u have confused.
Ofcourse it going to be of good quality has it is a flagship phone.
So excited for too many phones the Galaxy S10 the Mi Mix 3 and so others.
Do you think Samsung will make a new thing about their screen? They’ve been trying to make various types of screens like foldable screen the past few years.
Slides down to check notifications, and bam! Selfie!
hell yeah brother
Hope the bottom bezel is big enough. It’s already so much of a stretch to reach the bottom of the phone on the Mix 2 that I had to put gestures on the right hand edge of my screen. While typing this comment lying on my side in bed I literally dropped my phone trying to reach the number key in the bottom left lol. Making the screen even lower will be a nightmare.
True.
Makes me happy too. Personally, it looks a lot thinner in the promo video than in the renders I’ve seen on the internet.
Watch the hands on video
I really afraid to get that bcos it will become my fidget spinner replacement .
Share review , if you will get on the fast sale
Literally a expensive stress buster.
If we look to the trailer there is a manual mechanism so there might be possibility that Xiaomi is trying something new.
Where is it in the mix 2?
This mechanism remindsme of the old mechanism sliding phones from 10 years ago. I really don’t like it. I don’t know why people think this is a good idea.
Now, if only Xiaomi were to bring this in India.
But no. We get the garbage that is the Pocofone F1.
I think the S10 will be completely bezelless without having pop up cameras. Search for “Samsung transparent OLED panel” it’s pretty incredible and I think Samsung can implement that panel on a smartphone, then they could put the selfie camera behind that panel. And when you need the camera they could just turn the area of the display that is above the camera transparent. Alternatively the area could flicker so fast that you wouldn’t notice and then synchronize the camera with the display. The second thing in the top bezel is the earpiece, Samsung has already shown of that they can make that in display. Search”Samsung Galaxy S9 in display earpiece” I imagine they could curve all 4 edges on the S10, it sure would look cool. It may be a little optimistic that they can do all of that so soon but they did promise a big design change. About the foldable phone. I think they will release it in 2019 and in 2020 it will be really trendy and then companies like hauewei and xiaomi will buy flexible panels from Samsung aswell as the ultra Sonic fingerprint scanner that they are working on right now, vivo, hauewei and oppo already have in display fingerprint scanners but they are optic which is just generally worse than the ultrasonic. But I don’t see flexible displays playing a big roll in the future, I think they are pretty cool but once they are ready in 2020 they will only have a few years on the market before every display will be replaced by holographic mixed reality. Maybe they will exist in 10 years but they will continue being expensive and kinda gimmicky like 3d displays even when glass free 3d is perfected it won’t become mainstream. I imagine the biggest display innovation recently is micro led, conventional led is simply much more reliable than oled so micro led is perfect because it’s the best of both, look up “Samsung micro led” I’m sorry that the comment is so long, I hope you found it interesting though. The technology market you can dream about but unlike the space industry there’s money in it so even the most crazy dreams will be realised
Same for me.
I sure hope I don’t need it open. Otherwise that’s a huge deal breaker for me.
At least 100
because it’s not as big as in Mix2/Mix2s/Mi8
Quick question. Where’s the sensor for auto brightness etc?
Well you need sensors. So unless there is a notch. There will always be a small bezel for sensors.
It’s not coming to India.
Pretty sure no because it has an in-display fingerprint reader (according to leaks). I think the trailer was just highlighting the sliding feature which sets it apart from other devices.
My main question…..will it have bands 3,7,20 ?
>This mechanism remindsme of the old mechanism sliding phones from 10 years ago.
That’s one of the reasons people are excited about it, nostalgia. Personally I like this mechanism. I can count on one hand the number of time I have used the front camera on my phone in my entire life. I can live with a phone that doesn’t have front camera at all, but that’s not going to happen, so this is the most perfect, no compromise solution so far. Durability is not a concern if I rarely use it, if ever. But god knows if I have this phone I will be sliding it up and down all day like a toy.
Edit: Unless it doesn’t have fingerprints scanner and only face unlock.

bout tree fiddy
Vivo and Oppo are electrical though, this is purely mechanical and manual. I think it will be like older slider phones (so freaking satisfying)
Down to put the connectors of the amoled screen. The iPhone X does have a curved amoled screen on the bottom that’s why it’s truely borderless but it’s an expensive way to put the connectors.
mi mix 2s was already basically a brick
I’m still running my Mix 1 and 2S, but Ill be damned if I don’t get me that Mix 3 also.
One can have 3 dailies right right?
Does Find x have curved edge ? Didn’t know
EVERYTHING BE SAME AS ON OPPO FIND X.
Not like that look others xaiomi phones,
Happy they have tried something new.
We are talking about *real* flagships. Not budget devices running a flagship grade SoC with QC issues.
By itself, no. Compared to anything else, even the Asus Zenfone 5Z? Terrible.
OP > Poco any day since the former’s more close to a flagship experience with only incremental cuts to justify the price than Xiaomi’s offerings ever will be.
Fine, if they don’t reduce the battery capacity.
Same! This will make me cool kid in the office now.
They will be on the bottom like the mix2s. Which sucks a bit as I find it annoying with the light sensor there. My hands often cover the sensor while typing and stuff so it dims when it shouldn’t.
No idea
Yes very much like the Samsung phones. The display is even made by Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will probably look very much like the find x, though it probably will have a little bezel at the top housing the front facing camera and proximity sensor
Vivo and oppo have sliding mechanism ? And you can actually hear the mechanism on then oppo
Not now but if there be any I Be uploading
Oh dang it! Come on I can’t hold it any longer! I’m so excited ffs
So it’s like the oppo find x but not with an engine to open the camera, it’s manual. I guess.
Fidget toys < mi mix 3
May be, as the Trailer say.
I miss my old Sony Ericsson. Sliding it open was so satisfying.
I never said it has to be released though. By sides that there isn’t really another high-end slide-smartphone to estimate it’s durability. Only one week until the official announcement 😀
Because Xiaomi can’t afford Apple technique to reduce lower bezzels, they haved tried to minimise as much as possible.
Slider = RIP
More than 2 year without any issues.
Is there any other trailers?
Well, I am happy with my MIX 2S. I really don’t like that sliding mechanism. Let’s see if Xiaomi achieves to change my mind about this.
I also think you won’t need to open it to take a photo with the back camera. Plus, being manual is a big plus for me, as it’s likely going to last longer and you’ll able to do the click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack, click clack when you are bored
click clack
Yes but without curved edge, I really wish they added that looks so damn cool on the find X, sure it’s impractical and it warps the image but, it looks freaking awesome
there will be no such click sound in real , it be same like vivo or oppo one.
Waiting
does it have a curved screen?
Damn, what a beautiful phone
Hope they have built it strongly because cheap sliding phones break easily.
Hoping for an OLED display.
I hope the click is not so loud in real life
btw, the bottom bezel makes me happy
I assume it will be thicker than the previous versions then?
