thank you ah it is sad.
[The company says it will launch “commercial” phones that work on China Mobile’s 5G network from the third quarter of 2019](https://www.androidcentral.com/xiaomi-will-launch-5g-version-mi-mix-3-powered-snapdragon-855)
tgey said Q1 so not 6 month long but maybe 4-5 yeah is it that hard to wait ?
Shipped starting 28 Dec 2018 (GMT+7:00)
Ordering is open, but it says it’s a pre order… can anyone say how long will they take to ship?
Xiaomi confirmed it’s coming in the middle of 2019, so way more than 2 months
Cool thanks. “Unlocked for Worldwide use” is what confused me.
Theres nothing not “legit” about it, its just not the global variant. The description mentions no Google Play Store installed, a telling sign of it being a Chinese ROM. As far as I know, theres no Global variant out for sale yet. Perfectly usable in the US still, just a different ROM onboard.
I thought that might be the case but also thought gearbest was pretty legit so really wasn’t sure.
Looks to be the Chinese variant
The 5g version going to be a lot more expensive, oneplus ceo said $200 more than 845, and you’re going to wait several more months for the global version of that. And I already waited for like 6 months for the mi mix 3 and I don’t think that the 855 is that much of a big improvement of the 845.
We are comparing this to the msrp of the chinese version which is $475, $579 is a bit more expensive.
Yea, coming from a one plus one with lineage, not sure I can handle miui.
Exactly.
Depends on tsmc. By that time the yields will increase and 7nm will start mass production. Sd855, amd ryzen 3x or rome chiplets, radeon navi 7n, next node from nvidia, these will probably use the 7nm node from tsmc.
Proly june for global 3s
i mean end of gen it is like buying a 9900k now when ryzen zen2 are on horizon
855 is way more than 2 months away.
i mean end of gen it is like buying a 9900k now when ryzen zen2 are on horizon
It’s not exactly going to launch at the start of January, the wait is going to be a good it longer I’d imagine.
I can get indeed the Chinese version for 3300y which is arround 480$ (6gb+128)
Didn’t Xiaomi say that SD855 will increase the price of the phone by $200? It doesn’t seem worth it for that slight boost in power considering 5G still isn’t available in most parts of the world.
I hate notches. I rarely take selfies. It’s perfect for many people. Plus, the price seems to be this high only in Thailand due to import tariffs

This exact variant of the Mix 3 in China is supposed to be priced at 3,299 CNY or about $480.
My gf got an A2 recently. It’s a great phone. I have a Mix 2S which is better in terms of specs, but i must say i am jealous of her phone having pure Android software instead of MIUI.
MIUI is definitely better than it was, and i can deal with it now, but i know what I’d prefer.
The 5G version will definitely cost around 700€ for the first few months, there’s no way it will be affordable. And the SN845 is totally fine in terms of performance unless you play highend games (which I personally don’t).
Here’s my source for that assumption: https://www.theverge.com/2018/12/5/18128194/oneplus-5g-phone-pete-lau-interview-qualcomm-snapdragon-855-technology-summit
How much is this mix 3 price in China compared to Thailand? I’m living in Thailand and thought the pricing was very close for their other phones.
Thailand has very high import tariff on electronics. What is $579 in TH is probably going to be $450-500 in HK/online.
Well yeah, this is “cheap” by our standards. For reference, the 128GB Mi 8 is 17,990 baht / $547 with occasional discounts down to $517.
It is about $30 more than the launch price of the equivalent version of the Mix 2 though, so there’s that.
Fair point. I just don’t remember Mix ever been that pricey anywhere, I guess ill have to be patient and see when its officially arrives in EU.
You’re taking prices in one country and comparing it to another. It’s not going to work that way, is it?
A 128GB Galaxy Note 9 in Thailand has an MSRP of 33,900 baht or $1,033. Right now it’s available from Lazada (the same store) with a discount that takes it down to about $941. The entire Pixel line is not available officially here, and the imported ones start somewhere around $930 for a 64GB Pixel 3.
true but a 2 month wait aint much the 855 is much better not to mention with 5g you can keep this phone for atleast 2-4 years without feeling the need to buy a new one. however this one will feel dated in like 4 months
Wouldn’t say significant. Flagship from Google and Samsung are just $150-200 over this price. This price point is really bad.
Not really. It’s still significantly cheaper than other phones bought out of contract with similar specs.
They release new phones every year, with that logic you never end up buying anything
$579 US dollars? Thats way too expensive.
[is this the same? ](https://m-us.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009227828762.html?wid=1433363¤cy=USD&vip=14752947&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlf-1y-uM3wIVgYbACh0JyglIEAQYASABEgJ6S_D_BwE)
No idea. It comes tomorrow. I went with it cause I’m on an old one plus one, so it should be a huge upgrade.
Oh, and I almost never use headphones… But I do occasionally😖
His phone has a dongle sticking out the bottom
None, just want official sellers over here.
I almost got it because I wanted to avoid the notch as well. Ended up ordering an a2
Ceramic build, free wireless charger, 128GB base storage, no notch
I m using redmi note 4 global version
May I ask the difference between the global and EU versions?
I mean with the global version I have all the compatible bands supported already so is there advantages for the EU version?
So we are waiting for EU/US now 🙂

It has only one option is 6 GB of RAM + 128 GB storage.
