So basically every late xiaomi phone has a night sight now but not my mi mix 2. fml
I used [this custom](https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78335340&postcount=93) zip enabler and it works fine. Magisk isn’t the problem but the “enabler”, those from Oreo,Nougat don’t work anymore on Pie.

Can you send a brief tutorial for this? Planning on installing gcam on my wife’s max 3, she’s envious on my A2 lite because I got it installed.
Another question, with this enabled, can you still get OTA Updates? Or does it require you to uninstall stuff?
That version of GCam doesn’t have any settings (some of them do) so you just have to make it work (in my case Camera2Api with Magisk)…and more importantly, GCams are only “auto” nevertheless and then simply turn on Night Mode.
Thanks!
Some versions do have manual mode, but they might not be compatible with all phones (might crash on launch)
Do you have one for pie at all? As far as I can see camera 2api is enabled but then the camera apps you’ve linked refuse to open whatsoever. Before I updated to the xiaomi.eu pie build I was on Oreo and had a gcam port working fine so no sure entirely what to do now. I’m on magisk 18 too btw
Is this from Mi Max 3 or the one on your flair?
If camera2api is not activated you need root
yaay wroclaw 🙂
Can you link me the one you used?
Why would it “break” SafetyNet?
All it does is add a line to your phone’s build.prop
it can just turn of hdr+
Gcam is immense, just proves how important software is there the camera also.
How did you find this? This one also works on my Redmi Note 3, even tho it’s laggy as hell, but the picture it produces is amazing
You don’t need root to enable Camera2 API, only an unlocked bootloader and TWRP support for your phone.
Is it as simple to install as it is on the Pocophone? On the pocophone no root or complicated procedure is needed, just installing the .apk.
Me too using LineageOS 16 pie.
Made Max1 great again.
Worked on my note 8 but force closes on my max 3….hmmm
I’d guess it is because gcam is proprietary while android is open source
There are plenty of posts about this already on the subreddit. Probably on the wiki as well.
Even blowing up this image on my mobile looks great. Must be RAW
Welcome to reddit.
Did you use manual settings?
It worked on MIUI Global 10 (official update which MM3 recieved mid-October) but for a week I use it with a custom C2API enabler I found on XDA on beta xiaomi.eu MIUI 10.2 on Pie. In both cases I run Magisk 17.1.

For Oreo or Pie?
Have you activated Camera2Api on MM3? Unlocked bootloader is required.
Man, no one ever answers these questions.
Wroclaw is such a cool city, I miss it
Alright thank you I’ll try it
Ahh no. My bootloader is locked…
Use Arnovas Pixel 3 builds. They work on the Mix 2, I have one myself.
Can you do a comparison with the stock camera?
It’s an original, obviously unedited, JPG from the GCam. I’ve linked in the other comment the full album on Flickr, you can check those photos out as well.
Why is gcam not included in stock Android?
How do you activate it?
I can’t remember how it was with Global Oreo but right now (beta Pie) it is broken.
Cand you send a link to the app (?) Pls , and if it needs root ?
No, there Camera2Api isn’t supported out of the box, it requires minimum unlocked bootloader.
Night Mode does up to 1/3 shutter speed and all of my photos- you can see the whole album I linked in the other comment- are made by hand.
Everyday I get surprised by GCam
Wig, i thought OIS would be a must for Night Sight but i’m glad it’s not
This is a comparison of the stock camera and Gcam w/night sight on my A1
[Try flashing this with TWRP](https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78056737&postcount=64)
You should go to “More” and there you’ll find “Night Sight”. Or, if you’re in a poor lightning on a default “Camera” mode, a pop-up “Try Night Sight” might appear in the bottom of the screen.
