I mean a setting on th watch itself, I really dont like having my phone with me when training. Anyways it should not be impossible for xiaomi to enable it on the Band 3
You can use the official app, and “start” a new activity. It will start the continuous heart rate monitoring and show a graph. Isn’t that what you mean? Of course, the battery won’t last as long.
Got it, thanks! I was on the look out for this kind of feature that my mom can use to monitor her heart rate.
That it can measure heartbeats over a amount of time and for example make a graph out of the measurement. Mi Band 2 only let’s you measure heartbeats at demand
What does continous heart rate monitoring mean?
Bip has transflective TFT LCD. I have not seen any technical parameters anywhere but I estimate the display has reflectivity between 5 – 10% (pebble time has 8.5%).
MEH, honestly i only use mi band 2 to wake me up like a baby and nothing else really.
can’t feel the reason to upgrade.
Thanks! So, what is exactly the technology on the Bip? ‘Coz watching it a direct sunlight is wonderful, not like most of the smartwatches on market.
It’s likely that the payments will only be available in China. I may be wrong, but Mi Pay is China only at the moment, and I don’t think this would be compatible with android pay.
Meh, im looking for something under 50$. And cheapest pebble cost 150$ from what i found :/
Only next and stop/play. I want something like back, volume up and down etc. And it drains battery afaik. Ill just wait for amazfit to get on sale. Because it can do it, right? Can anyone who has amazfit prove me right or wrong?
Will the Chinese version have English language? Can I import it? And when will it be on sale? Also if my phone doesn’t have nfc and I buy the nfc model, will I still be able to use Google pay
Looks beautiful, hope that they at least added a stopwatch otherwise I don’t see many reasons to upgrade from a Mi Band 2 or to prefer this on the previous model.
Seems pretty great. Does it have continuous heartbeat measurement or music control?
Whole size increased, probably a bigger battery too. To be fair, mine still lasts more than 20 days on a charge and it’s almost 2 years old. Would be ok with a bit of a hit.
This the sorta playa that be givin’ people 444RMB hongbaos.
I use Gadgetbridge, it’s free and opensource.
Not related to Xiaomi phones, although I use Gadgetbridge and not Mi Fit.
Single line, it scrolls a bit horizontally.
I haven’t used Mi Fit in a while, but Gadgetbridge shows the notification text.
Look for a Pebble. They are no longer made, but you can still find them.
Wait really?
No
Ok we all agree mi band 2 was a miss in step counting. Hopefully 3 will be not.
Yes. Long due feature
Below 30$ as expected! I love Mi!
E-ink is not suitable for smart watches. E-ink needs much power to redraw image, has problems with ghosting, slow refresh rate and many other problems. Some watches use the so-called e-paper which is actually an LCD with high reflectance, Sharp PNLC has better reflectance than e-ink (50% LCD vs 40% e-ink), minimal power consumption (6uW which means 13 years on amazfit bip battery) and very fast refresh rate (60+fps).
I feel like importing this to the U.S. is going to be a pain…
No one knows yet, but I would assume no, based on the design.
Exactly, the e ink is what the smartbands need, no oled or brilliant screens, just a good e ink and there you go. I wish some original design for Bip2 (because it’s a rip off apple watch), but besides that, the Bip is just amazing. I heard good things about Stratos but the battery is worse.
Anyone knows if mi band 2 straps works for mi band 3? I have quite a few extra straps I bought as spares
Wow the screen size increased but quite a bit. I wonder if the battery life remains as good. Since normally smartbands with this size of a display only have 1 week of battery life
Totally agree. I got mine for two weeks and only 30% battery is gone and that sunlight visibility. Wish it would have nfc to pay with it but maybe Bip2 will have one 🙂
Kinda offtopic comment:
Looks “fine” but what i really dislike about this and other cheaps smartbands is the watch, i like the watch face all the time, not just moving the hand.
Saying that, i want to say the Amazfit Bip is amazing, the best smartband I’ve used.
Will this support English language and how big is that thing. I have tiny wrist
To be fair i wish it had music remote ._. Issa only feature i want from wearable electronic, and i can’t find any cheap smartwatch with it
Hope to see some sort of support for HIIT/Interval controls directly on the band
Hopefully wishing they integrated some kind of swim activity distance / stroke tracking.
4 is only unlucky under certain circumstances. This is not one of them.
With Mi Fit app? I bought a 3rd party app to be able to do so
How? I haven’t received updates for a while and I don’t have ant option to display text.
The Mi Band 2 looked much better. I’m still using the Mi Band 1, but I’m not sure if I should upgrade if there are no killer features.
It actually shows messages with the latest firmwares (it has for a while now). Only up to 18 characters though.
If the step counter is better I’ll buy it. My mi Band 2 is very hit and miss.
I like the first pic showing the time 4:20. Xiaomi knows.
or £20
it looks VERY UGLY . . .. yuCK!!!
Hopefully it will support continuous heart rate monitoring
neat
Price coverts to 26$
