This Blog sais that the 720p version is the only android one phone this year…
Anyone know the camera sensor?
It is the imx582 ?
#
Maybe they are trying to kill it.
Why?
Just got my mi 9t from china – 2 weeks waiting – great phone!!! Screen, camera, battery, sound, FPR, gcam can be installed immediately, Performance is also great – miui has some bugs (like wifi, wouldnt connect to my WPA2 but accepts WPA2/WPA lol)
Found this yesterday…
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-64GB-6GB-6-39-Smartphone-NFC-Global-Version-With-Free-Mi-Band-3/401776860641?hash=item5d8bc45de1:m:mT9VKGJlJfVr91P6ZKrJ-Lg
SD 665 WTF (on Spanish xiaomi Instagram)
Is it?
I checked Mi A3 specs on GSMArena, it says: CPU Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver)
But when I checked on Qualcomm website, they say: Octa-core Kryo 260 CPU, built in 11nm, balances between 4 performance and 4 efficiency cores.
Thanks for pointing it out, I’ll edit my post.

Exactly. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the rear fingerprint sensor.
I was holding onto my Mi A1 thinking the A3 would be based on the CC9, which would be dope. So glad I bought the OP7 instead.
Go for Nokia phones maybe? They have an impressive track record of updating all their phones to the latest security patches and major upgrades within 1 – 1.5 months. All of their new phones are Android One phones and they’re appropriately priced I feel.
And the slow af in display fingerprint
how much USD
Xiaomi has officially sucked with MiA3 and it’s pricing and also the pricing of K20pro in india. Majority consumers are unhappy and taking it too twitter too, raising this concern
No NFC and meh screen. Was looking forward for this phone… What to choose now?
Are there good stock custom roms for the Mi 9 /9t?
A2 LITE still performing verry well in 2019.
My hope is for new Android 10 does we can finally use a full notch display in all apps?
Xiaomi should really just rename it to Mi A3 DOA
Even the Lite will be better than this…
Just go for the A1 or A2…
I’m very happy with my A5 Pro. They’ve had issues but they’re rapidly growing out of them, much faster than Xiaomi did when they first started.
They’re not perfect but neither is Xiaomi and, from personal experience owning both an A2 Lite and an A5 Pro, the cost/benefit ratio skews well into Umidigi’s side.
Is there something wrong with the A2?
I paid for my A1 64GB/4GB only 199 EUR (incl. 19% sale taxes) and 2 years of German warranty! I got it just few months after the release from a German shop in my area. So the price for the A3 is just disgusting even it will drop down by 50 EUR this device will be too expensive for this low specs with s\* HD+ display!
Edited
Pentile arrangement of AMOLED means lower pixel density compared to LCD display on same resolution.
Burn In
yup. nokia was where i started looking for android one phones, and their upgrade records had been great, and solid phones to boot. however, their cameras are lackluster, and with everything considered, lead me to the xiaomi a2. it’s just a better bang for the buck given the cameras and hardware specs. however, the upgrade record had been spotty and that battery is an afterthought. thus i’ve been holding off for the a3. alas, xiaomi doesn’t want us to buy its android one phones apparently.
For US LTE bands, looks like it has bands 2 and 4, same as the Mi A2.
You mean: CC9e. The CC9 much better than this.
so civilized
Waiting for snapdragon 730 version…
How abt the fingerprint scanner?
Yes Pixel Experience ROM is quit good
Mi 9T my dude, 290€ at eBay, sent from Germany
Got mine today from China, its phenomenal, display is same as Samsung, extremely bright, camera is the shit (meaning the best), FPR is fast (just do the trick with multiple FP of the same thumb)
MIUI is sometimes shit though (some bugs), but id say its not that bad all in all
That made my Galaxy a70 purchase a bit easier
iPhone XR is sold at 799.
I honestly think that if this was the Lite version, people would have been just fine, but without the CC9 version, this is just horribly disappointing.
Very disappointing. I hope there’s a Mi A3 pro based on the Mi CC9.
What a joke ⛵
No idea what you mean. I was replying to someone who complained about ads in miui for the global version. Then replied that he knew how to disable them. No idea what logic he was using.
The Xiaomi Android one phones are close to garbage on the stock rom. The A2 has 3 months of bricking and pulled updates. The A1 corrupts external sdcard storage and also had pulled updates for Pie. And this is after loss of functionality and also buggy pulled updates when it was on Oreo.
Even if the price was right, say €150, this shouldn’t be named Mi A3. It should be called Mi A0 or something that doesn’t indicate that it’s a successor of a higher spec phone!
Noooo, google usb c problems. The usb c ort come loose from the box. After 6 months it i destroy.
that’s actually one things I love on my A1….grab a phone and it’s open thanks to rear position
Here the official website: [https://www.mi.com/es/mi-a3/](https://www.mi.com/es/mi-a3/)
>Pixel Experience ROM
Any AOSP for Mi9T?
Well if you know how to disable ads then why complain about them?
Same for overreacting over basic apps like calendar, contacts etc and calling them bloatware. If you want to complain about bloatware, look at the original Huawei UI and Samsung’s touchwiz. Are you saying that you don’t know how to set up your default apps to stop the nag screen?
720p OLED, which is even worse.
Mi A1 display is still better tho.
A2 lite us a great phone minus the ugly notch and huge chin
Jesus Xiaomi are going downhill big time.
I guess they can subsidize the phone more with MIUI and their ads-riddled OS.
250-280 EUR for 720p+ Display and all those other low specs? WTF?!
I’ll stay with my A1 and wait for a real successor!
I thought i found a replacement for my MiA1 lol but no thanks. 720p screen sucks
OLED displays generally assemble sub-pixels a little differently than LED, with the effect that LED looks at bit sharper at the same nominal resolution.
Something like 280$ lmao for 720P AMOLED which is like 660p or something
Just get the Mi 9T for the same price
or mi a3 lite. we can do better product placement than these guys. or maybe, they just want us to hate it.
Am in the same boat as you.
If it wasnt for the notch I’ll buy that mi8 in a heartbeat.
I guess I’ll stick to my note 5 for a few more yrs.
bigger chin than Robert Z’Dar
I like it being on the screen, I like everything except the 720 resolution
“They replaced the shit tier washed out ips that’s impossible to see in the sunlight with an amoled. I might see individual pixels when I plant my face on the screen too, oh noooo 😢”
The SoC is really shit though
Even if that happens, I’m still not buying a MIUI device. They’re not converting me, they’re losing me as a customer.
only the resolution stops me to seeing this as a worthy upgrade from my A2lite
I was waiting for the A3 to upgrade from my A1. I guess I’ll look for another phone, then
I prefer that Google spies on me than Xiaomi, but whatever floats your boat.
Oh and Google [doesn’t put ads in the settings page lol](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/xiaomi-miui-now-showing-ads-in-settings-app-on-their-phones/).
yall complaining then buy another phone, they did not force u to buy it
Lack of headphone jack. I use it.
Did they have explanation on why they only did 720p? I always check the ppi density of phone and this is about 286ppi compare to A2 403ppi. I think for modern phone \~400ppi is enough going beyond it will be waste of battery. But 286ppi is just bad, I checked some phones and it has the same value of Samsung galaxy note (2011) and also Redmi Go, the very budget phone. this is just sooo saad.
Still satisfied with my Mi A1 running Pixel Experience ROM. Pretty sure this will have Q-based PE ROM as well. I can wait for A4.
I don’t even know if it’s worth it for me considering stock Android is a huge point for me. Does MIUI have any interesting features that stock Android doesn’t have (and isn’t about customization)? Otherwise I’ll have to go for this quite sadly. If only it had a 1080p screen then it wouldn’t be too much of a problem since I don’t use NFC.
have you tried recording videos on the A1 – they pretty much turn out semi-decent only. It’s a 144p video if you record on Instagram. I hate the camera so much but my A1 is still going strong :’)
Mi9 se or Mi 9t I guess…
When it comes to stock Android, you can basically only go with the pixel 3a even though it’s quite big premium price wise. Definitely also disappointed. Especially the lack of NFC…
Call recording is a big plus
Uh what? 665 has 4 performance cores….
I’m still rocking my Redmi Note 4! I too thought I’d go for the Mi A3 that was rumored to come with a SD730 (or at least a 710) with a FHD OLED screen. Utterly disappointed with what Xiaomi’s been doing with the Mi A lineup. I’ll probably buy a Nokia phone next. Us budget stock Android guys have no good options nowadays.
It’s a great phone you won’t be disappointed. My last phone was MI A2 lite. I have been using the Mi 9t for about a week now it’s beautiful.
I just stay with my A1… maybe they surprise us with a A3 Pro release later this year….
Where is the 6gb variant? Xiaomi honour killing its A series.
Even XR has better Resolution xD
Because 720P LCD
[disapointed](https://youtu.be/cdEQmpVIE4A)
Mi A2 was a way better deal i’m glad that i bought it
Yeah, I read that the new firmware update improves the accuracy.
I haven’t heard anyone yet who’s happy with umidigi.
From reception issues over random WiFi disconnects, no updates and so on…
samsung A50 ?
This thing will be lightning fast tho. How could it not be, it’s only pushing 720p!
Lol
I’m going for Nokia, dual-SIM and NFC.
Back Fingerprint sensor at the A1 sucks really bad.
9/10 times it wont register so its just useless.
> My locally stored songs on the SD card would not be readable without multiple reboots
Which update caused the problem and is there a fix for it? Does the latest June update fix the issue?
This is actually a very smart marketing move for xiaomi, first release k20 and k20 pro, k20pr being more popular, and k20 being kind of left in a corner, then release miA3 with so so specs, all mi a1 /a2 users looking for an upgrade move to k20/9T, sell of all stock of mi9t, the after this release mby miA3 pro
Doesn’t the Mi 9T also have a pentile display??
Definitely a Mi A3 Pro coming along sometime…
was planning to replace my 5plus for Mi A3. the specs however, what a letdown. gonna stick with 5plus i guess
I am sure there are those who prefer stock to ensure there are no third party background tasks that sniffs around for your private data.
Oh, so it’s 57%. I think the poll from Beebom had around 75-80%.
Mi series is going die with this, its horrible, Mi a2 lite have a better design, F
European prices will always be more than the Chinese version – VAT, warranties etc. Not sure this phone therefore makes any sense unless you really want Android One (which I’d prefer to Miui). In reality, suspect most will step down in price to the 7 or step up to a 9e or 9t unless a carrier starts carrying this.
Feels like a phone they shouldn’t have bothered importing
big yikes
My Nexus 6P had a better camera than the A1, but I like it nonetheless.
Goddamn. Guess im going for 9T then.
I see a lot of A1 fans here! I’m so glad that I wasn’t the only one. Not many people liked the A1! And they couldn’t understand and use the camera (especially the portrait mode) and then hated it more!
I LOVE THE MI A1!
And the camera is AMAZING! tried to compare the camera with some other phones but noone beats this! Bought A2 for my mom but she’s already facing battery issues! :/
I was so eagerly waiting for the A3! Was still going to keep A1 as a spare camera but damn I’m disappointed!
Or Mi 9T? Has both as well
Just got mine today and this phone ticks all the right boxes
Rest in peace Mi A series. Time to move on people.
This release makes me sad.
720p screen and no NFC is disappointing.
It have all of those things but NFC
don’t see any official lineage support for rn7 tho
7 years ago, the pentile 720p screen in my galaxy Nexus was disappointing because you could see the jagged edges. And that was only a 4.65″ screen. What are they thinking doing that in 2019 with 6″ display?
Guess I’ll stick with my A2 lite for a bit longer.
me too mate, and i think im gonna buy A70.
Dead on arrival
It’s actually faster and has a sharper screen (compared to A3)
WTF Xiaomi
Nexus 6P has a better camera than my A2 as well, but still enjoying the phone.
No NFC and a downgrade in screen quality. I’m very disappointed!
Meh. Mi A4 will be my next Android One device then.
Epic Bruh Moment
Have uou found a qc4 for your phone?
Do you have the global version of the RN6pro? There isn’t much bloatware on the global version, and they don’t take up much space. And all the ads can be disabled, so ads are not an issue on the global version.
Can you send me the eBay link you bought it from?
it’s specifically aimed for the west. it was unveiled in spain ffs. A series has always been a west thing.
I have the A2 lite as well and I love it. Except for the camera it’s almost perfect
I think I’ll stick with my Mi A2
When I was using the Mi A1 as a daily driver, I found out that Xiaomi’s barebones OS didn’t even have a pocket mode so the phone was activating widgets from the lock screen or pulldown quick settings in my pocket. Stock sounds nice but not the point where it becomes a real nuisance like Xiaomi’s Android one.
The CC9 costs about 230€..
Release mi9T pro already…
Now I remember why the cc9e sucked, 720p screen
“720p”
MY SIDES
i went from A1 to 9T and I love it, miui is no problem for me i dont even notice any difference
attractive tan dime deer head pocket summer wild normal like
*This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev/home)*
A1 with Pixel Experience ROM is still quite good. Pretty sure we’ll have Q-based ROMs as well.
not yet, though i am hoping with its popularity it’s only a matter of time.
Why do they want people with small hand to suffer?
Yeah someone mentioned in the forums that the Pie beta update version released a day or 2 earlier for the A1 was the same as the final release. Thats like not giving 2 shits for the end customer. No wonder the A1 had 2 pulled Pie updates and the A2 had something like 3 pulled updates for Pie.
Yep i know, wanted to point out the ridiculous pricing for the A3 in the EU
They’re trying to nerf the A series so that more people buy their MIUI skinned phones which generally have ads, especially in India they show a lot of ads. Heck, there are ads even in the settings app! That’s how they make money. If they release good phones with stock Android, no one’s gonna buy their crappy MIUI skinned phones.
I remember Xiaomi creating a poll on Twitter asking which Android skin people prefer – Stock or MIUI. I think nearly 80% of the guys chose stock and then Xiaomi removed that poll. It was hilarious.
OP7 has OIS. Huge camera upgrade.
Camera in Nokia is great, the phones come with camera2api on from default. Pictures with gcam are amazing. The problem is the usb c quality and design, they start breaking after 3 months…. So never buying Nokia again, all models the same.
The Umidigi A5 Pro is a much better alternative. Much cheaper too.
Isn’t the Mi 9T more like 350€?
They don’t like Europe. No K20 pro, no note 7 and no proper A3 (CC9)._.
Not an Android One.
Lmao What? 250€ ??? At that price you could just get the Mi 9T – phenomenal Smartphone
Same. I bought Mi A1 because of Android One. I guess I’m gonna go with Pixel 3a then. I wasted my time waiting for this downgrade of a phone.
yes, the spec would be justifiable as long as it is priced correctly. it’s funny because they have exact counterparts in china, and the world knows their prices. We wanted a cc9 for a3, but instead we only got its price tag, with cc9e specs. WTF? Did someone screw up at marketing? All that talk about having a “cheaper and more powerful” unit than the a2? We get less that cost more. How insulting.
Lol no thats not true. Do you really think people here are gonna waste their hard earned money on a underspecced phone like this? no
Guess I won’t have to upgrade my A2 Lite for atleast one more year. Don’t do any gaming on this so a SD625 is still fine
This is a real bruh moment for xiaomi
maybe that’s what exactly xiaomi wants us to do here by giving us a dud android one model: more miui phone sales!
Very disappointing, I was looking forward to upgrade my A1. The Mi 9T is my next phone now.
it need at least 675
A1 was peak Android One with the only drawback of no NFC.
So this is what we pay for an OLED screen? Shit resolution? Not worth it.
Yeah spec wise, it’s a very good phone. Only issue (per reviews) is the camera.. Which doesn’t provide good night images.
Same for me, will stick to my A1… but i hope they bring a A3 pro with the CC9 specs…
Imagine asking 250 Euros for a 720p phone with a soc that’s worse than the sd660. The specs would be fine if the phone launched at 150€.
all the anticipation, i didn’t expect a WTF moment such as when i read about the update today.
i had to look up the product page to believe that the pricing is official: [https://buy.mi.com/es/buy/product/mi-a3](https://buy.mi.com/es/buy/product/mi-a3)with this price, which is actually about the same price as the better spec’d cc9 in china, it’s unlikely that xiaomi will release a cc9 based variant anytime soon, if at all, as it would probably cost more than 9t would be. The pricing is just utterly ridiculous, regardless of whether if cc9 variant of a3 pro would be released.
I think the price/spec just sucks big time. I was willing to buy the lower spec’d a3 (even with the 720p pentile oled) as long as it’s priced similarly to the chinese version CC9e, which is less than USD$200. I cannot believe what xiaomi is doing to the A/android one line. It’s obvious that they don’t give a rats ass about android one (if a2’s lack of optimization wasn’t evidence enough), and probably want you to get their better priced miui products?
anyway I’m disgusted, and feel rather cheated. Due to my urgent need for an upgrade, I will probably just either get an a2 or mi8/9 (the latter due to AOSP ROMs), if I am to get anything from xiaomi at all, which i frankly don’t feel like at the moment.
BBK brands (oppo/vivo/oneplus/realme) are looking better every day. xiaomi needs to be more alarmed than it has been, and try harder. at least be smart enough to not ruin potential hardware winners with marketing blunders.
Fuckin notch in 2019
Yeah I’m cool holding onto my A2 another year. Give Xiaomi one last chance with the A4.
Otherwise maybe Pixel 4a. Bit of a price jump but still not in that $800-$1000 ridiculous range.
While true for oleds that’s not what’s being talked about .
Yeah pretty sure it will be massively popular – it just released in India
Garbage
Would love it be with B28, headphone jack, microsd slot and nfc.. am i asking too much ? lol
I got it from china, 2 weeks shipping, paid almost the same price as from ebay lol… Fail
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-64GB-6GB-6-39-Smartphone-NFC-Global-Version-With-Free-Mi-Band-3/401776860641?hash=item5d8bc45de1:m:mT9VKGJlJfVr91P6ZKrJ-Lg
I thought it’s a small upgrade, 14nm to 11nm, and higher number from SD660 to SD665, ~~until I see the CPU specs, from 4 high perormance core to 2 lol~~ (misinformation)
What are the executives thinking.
Also wtf with this Snapdragon product naming.
After 6 months Nokia usb c port is dead. Google it!
256€ in China and 290€ on ebay from Germany and 329€ from amazon
720p screen? Are you joking me rn?
I was so hell bent on getting this phone, because I adore my Mi A2 and recently dropped/cracked the screen in a couple places. I figured, the A3 is being announced at the perfect time! I can hold out a couple months and then upgrade!
So what I’m getting from this is to spend my money on a Redmi Note 7 instead and call it a day.
Thanks for confusing the ever loving shit out of all of us here, Xiaomi
I’m gonna get the Mi 9T Pro when it launches to replace mine but funny enough the A2L for the price it is which is around 150€ is a damn good phone. It has given me 0 problems and I’ve been loving it. I don’t think I would feel good to pay 250€ for the A3 when the regular 9T price is so close. Here’s hoping the Pro version comes cheap aswell. (Under 400€ would be awesome)
