My friend had similar. MIUI updated, then he started having issues. One day it soft bricked and all his data+photos were gone. Factory reset woke up the phone but apps, etc. were still crashing, RMA rejected.
Xioami is getting to be pretty shit.
:< badly need my phone to be fixed i dont have any phone for my online class im still a student :<<<<
Sounds like bullshit to me. I’ve never seen this happen unless there is widespread news about a botched update from a phone manufacturer.
i just bough it online and the warranty is already finish im using this phone for 2 years :< mi store will accept china rom?
i did but nothing happens
Mindfulness feature………
Did you do too much tinkering with adb?
Hi, my phone won’t turn on and I’ve tried using Mi PC Suite but it won’t even detect it. What do I do?
it was. I didn’t press any button other than pressing reboot in the update menu
What happened?
Had the same issue with Nokia phone last week after Google Security Patch. The phone is still dead as it is out of warranty and from Nokia service center told me that from what I described it is dead motherboard and will cost almost the price of a new phone to fix it.
i can’t also post here it says Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/Xiaomi.

Try turning it on without any SIM Card inserted
Always backup your data from the internal memory.
Didn’t…had to wipe it and so upset lost hundreds of pics, videos etc.
Well just send it to your local repair shop, I’m sure they can fix it, but at a cost ofc
That’ll definitely preserve the battery life
EDL mode is the only option for you. Take your time to do some research on EDL installation and do it. It’s harmless and quite easy to do.
do u have update right now my phoen is a china ver. where did u try to fix it? in a mi store?
Reflash your rom using bootloder
i didn’t do anything with adb as far as i remember
It can detect my phone when connecting to PC, I think it’s a hard brick, I’ve already sent it to the repair shop instead of service centre since they won’t accept China version
It’s happened to me and they changed the main board for free
Then i am in right, the problem here is the unofficial version installed on your phone, xiaomi let 3rd party sellers change all kind of things in the rom, so sometimes you get this kind of errors.
maybe battery died
Did you buy directly from mi page? If not propably you had not the original rom, best way to solve this is installing official room through pc. There are lots of tutorials how to, just follow them, theyr tedious but easy also.
Edit, here is a way to sove this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8xiNoWz-Yw
Why do I think every product before Covid is great and fantastic, after 2020 everything made shuts down or have glitches 😥
connect to pc and on your pc install mi pc suite
LMAO
loool soo true 😂
This is my deep dark fear. Im delaying the updates as much possible.
damn, bricked because of an update? I feel like that should be recovered by their service centre
It’s a feature. It makes you use your old phone for a while and remember all the good memories.
Does it was connected to charger? Do you pressed any buttons?
Press power button and vol. Down simultaneously, until phone vibrates and enters recovery mode. Then exit and power on again. Hope this solves your problem.
I have received an update which is version 12.5.3 and then I pressed on reboot after updating and installing it. Now it won’t turn on at all, I don’t feel any vibration when holding down the power button. the screen won’t even turn on, no mi logo or anything. my bootloader is locked. I’ve also tried to boot into fastboot and recovery but still nothing happens
Odd ive never seen that problem before. Though ive had a problem once i upgraded to android 11 on my phone and then it has battery problems but ive never seen that problem hopefully it will start working soon though.
Try plugging it in and then holding the power button
I feel like they should fix this for free warranty or not.
Any updates ??
Just a local repair shop. They fixed it in just a few days. You can also try at mi service centre if you have the warranty but it can take up to a month to get your phone fixed
Sounds like ur device got bricked service center can fix it i guess
Feels bad man
how much?
Try to boot into fast boot mode with it connected to the charger
I’m not sure about that but when i sent it to the service centre, they couldn’t verify the imei(they use it to check if i still have the warranty). Probably because it’s a chinese model, so i ended up going to the local repair shop instead
yeah there’s no other way guess
Was it the android 12 version? (aka did it start with S)
I just purchased redmi note 10s. the clerk told me that some updates were bugged and may cause the phone to power off so i just don’t update the phone
Try to get in the boot settings and reset it if youre able to do it
maybe your phone is a chinese version lods, i heard some news that chinese version will be shutdown automatically when it used it outside china.,
Motherboard dead
Hate to break it to you, but the majority of consumer phones today are made in China
tried it for a whole minute, still the same
This might be a weird suggestion but it happened with my poco but try taking the memory card out if u have one inserted and see if it will charge
Try holding power button for 13-20 seconds, see if it responds
Mine is a Chinese version indeed. But i got it working now after sending it to my local repair shop
I think 12.5.3 is the enhanced version, not android 12
Had same issues on Mi 10T pro ,they changed my motherboard , didn’t updated once since I got it back and I still won’t do it cuz of that bug . What’s crazy is that it’s not just one phone , my gf’s phone still a Mi 10T pro had same issue a month after mine , her friends phone too so yeah Xiaomi should fix that for free
Proof for not installing updates. MIUI 11, Android 9, Redmi 8A, works like a clock
Visit MI service Center (if ur warranty still intact)
Recovery mode?
it was a used phone i bought from someone. i suspect that it’s the chinese version since it couldn’t verify my imei on xiaomi authentication website. I think it may be hard bricked
The same with my redmi 9t just today, now it won’t turn on.
What to do?
My friends’ mum’s phone did the same thing after the update the other day, the only thing is he gets the message “the system has been destroyed”.
U need to flash a new roml
Idk about there but at that shop, it costs RM130 which is around 30usd more or less
It could be that the phone is hard bricked, has something to do with there ARP.
There was a case before where they bricked a bunch of mi 8 (I bought a bricked one to see how fixable it is) and without Xiaomi you cand really do anything.
Just so that you know you can fix it yourself, IF you know someone or pay someone to give you access to the office repair tools, but that’s not legal gray area or illegal depending on where you are from.
If you want to try yourself I’m open for questions
I’ve sent it to the repair shop instead, they said they could probably fix it by opening the back of it and connecting the test point. I’ve tried to send it to the service centre but they couldn’t verify the imei for the warranty. Maybe because it’s a china set. Now I’m just waiting for update from the repair shop
we have the same issue :<<<< someone hhelp
Happened to my unit too. First my wifi stopped working and them I tried to update it then this happened. You should bring it immediately to a service center. My phone’s there in over a month now still waiting for the replacement parts. Check if a pc or laptop can still detect your phone too.
Same lost all my data, pics everything…. PISSED 😡
its hard brick if it wont recognize via charging or pc cant read it. its needed to jtag. thats why dont update 40% below and dont restart if its look stuck. chances are low but never zero
