It’s way smoother on my note 3, especially after you’re using it for 3-4 months. That’s when you notice a specific slowdown on miui. For example chrome becomes sluggish.
It also helps that you get nougat-specific performance upgrades
I do hate you now 🙁
lol love the indian “sir” reference
That’s why I’ve always posting in MIUI forum with copypasta.
⬆️Take my upvote ⬆️
#relatableasf #goddammit LOL at the last part.
*sir, very less RAM available*
The only props I can give to xiaomi on the redmi 4 prime is battery life.
Up to 5 was like that for me, at the time was lollipop then i put custom rom marshemellow then nougat and soon oreo, probly in 2 weeks. And this all with root and customization i love it!!
Just wish the bluetooth and camera was better in LOS. Its whats making me stick to miui. Fuck yeah, 50m bluetooth a2dp range.
>RN3 nougat
Never Ever
I didn’t turn my phone off in over 30 days :(my mi5 runs flawlessly
There are some other things that bother me and may make me switch but MIUI is the reason I would like to stay
But I just want a bigger phone again pretty much something like a op5 but with mi6 camera…
I’ll probably get a zuk z2 pro for cheap now and wait if xiaomi will release a phone that interests me the next 12 months
72 hours for what should take five minutes…
I like MIUI how it is, with all the options
Stock Android is boring
I see your point. I should have said provided you’re okay with having a rooted phone.
Still of all OEM skins I seen MIUI is the least shit of them all
About to try that. Any drawback you’d remark?
Redmi note 3 already has oreo. Provided you wanna root. Because miui sucks.
you can, but it will restore dm-verity, remove root, xposed and twrp
Life of a Xiaomi Beta tester*
Would have been more appropriate
I hate you! Comr back to R4P you traitor
poo
If the rom is pre rooted you dont even have to root then? Your first comment kinda says that you need to root to flash custom rom which makes 0 sense
Yes, you can but i dont know what happens to your data
Yeah when I update I download the full rom, flash it via TWRP, then flash lazyflasher.zip, and flash super su zip. I wipe cache, reboot and everything works.
No, you keep all of your data. But if you changed stuff in the rom like emojis you have to change them again
True!! My Mi5 display died after Miui 9 beta update.
Same, I am on Lineage with my RN3P and I wouldn’t ever switch back.
MIUI felt much better one year ago but feels bloated now somehow (kenzo 2gb).
Bought month ago, and you are damn right!
awesome!
It’ll come, there are already Oreo builds. As soon as lineage starts shipping Oreo it’ll come out
Milk truck has arrived!
Why? I’m just about to install lineage os in mi mi5
Stock Android has so many options.
Should also include: *Where are the Mediatek roms??*
2023, still no Nougat.
year ACTUALLY 2024, still waiting…
Thanks
MIUI forums:
Thanks!
Downloading now.
Thank you sir!
Downloading.
Hey, it’s Kotori
And wow, I thought the Downloading English thing was just me, didn’t know it’s a common issue.
l set my phone to switch itself off every night at 1:30 am and start again at 6:15 am. It rarely bothers me going off while I’m using it, but lately the power button has become a little irresponsible, so it’s very difficult to turn it on again when that happens.
This right here. LOS 15.0 would be nice thou
Rooting has nothing to do with custom roms and is not a requirement for them.
I have redmi 3 pro, have no idea what you are on about…
Seconded. Solid 5/7.
Can’t say I’ve noticed that but I only used MIUI for a few days. Range on my Kate matches my previous phone
Thanks
Thirded. With rice please.
Some memes will outlive us, unfortunately
Thanks for sharing
Downloading.
where is the phase where you are content with your custom ROM?
I guess I must’ve been really lucky because for me unlocking the bootloader was seamless. I just signed into my MIUI account on the device (in the dev options), waited 72 hours, then booted into fastboot mode while plugged into the computer and clicked unlock in the unlocker tool… That was it.
More than MIUI
Lol pretty much
Bluetooth works correctly with my gizmos, what is the problem you’re having?
you get less battery life because los isn’t so strict with background processes. MIUI closes anything you don’t use and constantly kills of background processes.
I’d say giving up 1 hour of battery life for a smoother experience is worth it
Mi Android One can’t come fast enough. Xiaomi needs to have a successful phone outside China to perhaps realize skinning the whole phone with crud doesn’t make it better. Keep the software changes simple and they can go quite far and put more resources in useful features, like a better camera and making Android run bug-free and smooth.
There is a special twrp that auto flashes lazyflasher on exit. Which will keep everything in tact. Forgot what the name is, sorry.
Except almost all custom roms are pre rooted and you would have to manually unroot them.
And to flash a custom rom you have to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery.
Tried to unlock root and install other roms on redmi 4 prime. Cried my eyes out. Gave phone away to someone who doesn’t mind miui. Bought a OP5. Lived heapily ever after. Hate me now.
Range. Or rather, lack thereof. Its like miui goes to 800mW while los puts the transmitter at 50mW
Security app/battery/settings/schedule power on/off
