Hi all,
You may be familiar with the Mi A2’s file system bug that causes horrendously slow file transfer speeds, and complete system freezes/reboots when trying to clear an app cache > 300mb. Not only does this affect large caches and file collections, but this bug is also responsible for the micro-pauses, freezes and stuttering we’re experiencing on the device in general under Pie! It’s bloody frustrating!
While Xiaomi has done nothing about this bug in the last 4 updates, there IS a way to get Google involved and force the issue with getting this resolved finally. The key is to visit this bug’s report on Google’s Tracker ([https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531)) and star the bug report. By “star the bug report” I mean click on the little star icon in the upper left-hand side of the report, the more stars a bug report has the more it moves up to the top of Google’s Tracker!
It’s very important you go to: [https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531) and star the report. Please do this now, it only takes 20 seconds and it’s our most viable route to getting attention with this issue. If you have 30 more seconds, leave a comment voicing your experience with this bug and ways you can replicate the bug. Replicatable bugs are fixable bugs and it’s important they know that a replicatable bug is NOT being fixed.
The hope here is that Google becomes concerned that Xiaomi is tarnishing the Android One brand and gets involved as they have with other devices of past.
Moreover, if you’ve purchased the Mi A2 from Amazon, like I have, ensure you enter a 1 star review immediately citing the bug report on Google’s Tracker ([https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531)). We need as much exposure as possible that will motivate Xiaomi through their wallet!
*Edit: Don’t be concerned if the star has a pop-up when you mouse-over it that states, “Indicate that you are no longer affected by this issue”, that’s incorrect. Per Google’s own guidelines (*[*https://developers.google.com/issue-tracker/guides/subscribe#starring\_an\_issue*](https://developers.google.com/issue-tracker/guides/subscribe#starring_an_issue)*) “Starring an issue also upvotes it, which can be an important signal for prioritization. “*
**TL;DR – Go to** [**https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531**](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/118036531)**, star the bug report in the upper left-hand side of the report by clicking the star outline. This raises the bug report in Google’s Tracker and the hope is they get concerned that Xiaomi is tarnishing the brand of Android One and intervene. If you purchased off Amazon, leave a 1 star review citing this bug now!**

Does this issue still affect A2 when you leave storage up to the system? Is it only happening to devices where you choose to use the SD card as external storage?
It could also be that you are using cheaper SD cards? Just asking because I’m on an A1 and had similar issues, so I coughed up for a Samsung Evo pro 128gb card, configured it as system memory and I’ve never had a problem since.
I’m on 6/128 version and I don’t have this issue, but I starred it anyway. Hope it gets fixed for you guys 😉
Got my star.

Got spammed all morning.
Did my part!
Do you know if there is any report also on the screen brightness and camera low quality that we got on Feb update?
i dont remember the A1 to have camera 2 api enable by default

I am talking about those android one devices which are having Snapdragon 660. And nokia, motorola and other brands has enabled camera 2 api on demand via OTA updates.
A2 Lite too 🙁
