Some years ago (on another account) I needed help with a recommendation for a phone for a friend that had zero (like -100000) idea of technology, and you guys recommended me (among others) a Redmi 5A. I picked that one up because it was the cheapest.
It’s been a couple years and up to this day the phone is working fantastically and there weren’t any major issues on these days.
So thanks, and long live Xiaomi.
PS: I really want one since I’m using a 2015 phone still and it’s starting to show its age, hah.
Well I use Gsmarena’s phone finder and put in the specs and buget you want
Also kimovil.com is great
I didn’t know about this sub so I did my own research and bought the Redmk Note 7. One of my best decisions
> It’s been a couple years and up to this day the **phone** is working fantastically and there weren’t any major issues on these days.
Substitute any Xiaomi phone in here and the statement is more or less correct.
Barring possibly Mi4i. That thing was the worst phone Xiaomi have ever made(in terms of reliability) i think.
> I really want one since I’m using a 2015 phone still and it’s starting to show its age, hah.
On the other hand, I’m still using RN3Pro. Other than the storage, 32, no major problem also. Just needs a bit of clean up.
correct. I have RN3Pro
+1 for the Redmi Note 7. Unbelievably happy w my purchase.
Happy Note 7 Pro user here. The Sony IMX 586 sensor with the SD675 works really well overall
What was wrong with the Mi4i?
The Xiaomi mi 9
Battery issues.
I bought a Redmi 4x August of 2017 and just this 19th of May I noticed the screen bulging, turns out the battery bloated. To be honest I did not expect it to happen that quickly.
I’m now waiting for a Redmi Note 7 to arrive an I sure hope this phone would last longer than my 4x did. Props to your friend for making his 5A last as it currently is (probably even more)
If you don’t have a budget, Mi 9
My Redmi 5A is probably the worst phone ive had in terms of speed and performance. for the same budget, I bought an iPhone SE and am very happy with it. i’m planning on reentering the android family soon with a different xiaomi, will stay away from their budget line from now on
Redmi 7 has Galileo navigation, not Redmi 7 Pro
edit: second hand
+1 for the 4i reference. I recommended my cousin to buy Mi4. It never had good days. There was always some issue with it. After a lot of patience dealing with it, my cousin left it to rest with dead screen after around 1 and half year. That’s probably the only recommendation of me that turned out be a sour one.
Where are you located? Xiaomi phones are fantastic but depending on your carrier, it might not be supported
I am using the redmi note 5 global version. Still a fantastic phone, before that it was the redmi note 3 global version, and it still works fine.
Would you recommend the K20 Pro over the Mi 9? If yes, why?
whyred is the question 📣 😋
Why would one not want oled screen? Serious question!
Go for Mi 9 SE then.
Man I hope you don’t burn the screen.
redmi note 7 user, 310u$d in Argentina… Dont make me hate my country saying how much did you pay for a better cellphone
Got my girlfriend a Mi A2 and it’s pretty disappointing after under a year.
My mix 1 is going strong coming up to year two though.

Wrong lol burn in is a non issue now.
I dont know what VAT is, but govmt has a 50% taxes over imported electronics over 25 usd…
So, if its 200 usd, we pay it 300 usd… That happens to all phones, so compared to another cellphones here, its really cheap
Chinese ROM, thats sad, here the seller when gave me the phone made me turn it on and check that it was global version and he didnt scammed me
We all have low/medium tier phones, lots of paymentents in installments…
We pay an average of 500/600 usd for a 250 usd cellphone as “the best phone of history”
Nah, I mean Mi 9 use OLED screen, which prone to burn in (google it) when displaying same image for a long time. Game usually have a lot of static content (UI, background, portrait, etc) that can cause burn in for extended use.
This aren’t related with the heat.
