Just wanted to tell all fellow Redditors this phone is incredible. I had nothing bad to say about it. I simply love it.
That’s it, have a great day my friends!
P.S. first post using the Mi 10 🙂

Welcome to the Mi community. You’re gonna love it here.
I just bought one as well! 8hrs SOT is amazing to me! Also the camera is awesome to! I’m in the usa and got an imported china version. Works perfectly on att. Probably one of the best phones I ever had for reception as well.
What make you love it? I am quite disappointed with my Mi 9.
Yeah me too! Its been 6 days. I came from s10plus. At first it felt janky and non familiar but now it is silky smooth and performs like a true flagship after setting up the way I like it. Half of my s10 plus price too!
Plus no more battery anxiety and fast charging yeahhh!!
Whats wrong with your mi9?
A little irrelevant to your point, but I gotta say, my last purchase, the Mi 9t pro has been exceedingly satisfactory. I know that, because I see these new models coming out and I am only *slightly* jealous, whereas usually I feel like I am already in the dust not half a year after I upgrade my phone.
In short, Xiaomi makes some quality shit.
How are you getting 8hrs? I struggle to get 5.
I don’t feel jealous as they all cost more than I paid for mine and usually offer less (except flagships but those are +700€ vs 350€ I paid for mine). Only things I wish it had is OIS
Well, it depends, really. If you lucked out and got the device that had the *right balance*, then what you say applies. But sometimes, you see the next generation of phones coming with better features and a cheaper price tag, and you feel like you should’ve waited.
I kinda feel that this is the mi 9t pro to the Mi 9. But hey, I can forgive the lack of OIS for what the device packs.
I’ve been using a Redmi Note 8 for about 4 months now. Coming from a BlackBerry Priv, I was really skeptical about the phone and I just bought it temporarily. Didn’t take me long to absolutely fall in love with the thing. I don’t even miss my BB. Now, even if I do change my phone, I’m gonna buy another Xiaomi. I love the experience.
Buying into a Chinese manufacturer is always hit and miss with these things. Because their main selling point is the budget prices, you always have to look over your shoulder expecting the inevitable trade-offs to bite you in the ass with features or build quality.
But I feel like Xiaomi found that golden sliver of balance (at least for now). Possibly because their phone profit margins are razor thin (from what I hear), which would explain why their prices don’t betray the product quality. Of course, that could change down the line.
Also, God bless you for soldiering with a BB up to 2020. That’s some ride.
Same here :/
That’s true, I’ve avoided Chinese manufacturers for as long as I could. But they just so ubiquitous that switching to one of them was inevitable. I’m just glad I chose Redmi over Oppo or Huawei.
As for BB, I’ve been down with BB since 2011. Easily some of the best devices I’ve ever used. And the Priv was a masterpiece. But it was time.
The fact is that any phone with a flagship processor costs more than this costed. Also I couldn’t wait to change phone so 🤷🏻♂️. Looking back the only phone rivaling it is the OnePlus 7pro but at the time it costed more
Does the Mi 10 come with a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle?
Same what am I doing wrong is what I think
Yes
My Mi 10 is arriving on Thursday and I’m looking forward to it. Switching from a Mate 20 which I had since launch. Really excited.
I love that someone has developed a cutting edge piece of technology both digitally and mechanically with the pop up camera and it gets described as:
> Exceedingly satisfactory.
Do you know if it’s a full DAC or just passthrough?
I want xiaomi to release mi 10 ultra out of china.
What phones you used before?
Welcome 🙂
What’s your opinion on the placement of the flash and wide angle lens? It’s the only two downsides in my opinion.
It is indeed a great phone. Had a Mi 9T, decided to upgrade to a OnePlus 8 Pro but it had green screen issues so sent it back. Saw the Mi 10 on sale on AliExpress. Cost me nearly 50% less than the OnePlus and I love it – gorgeous display and super fast performance.
I am using Mi Note 10 Lite for 3 months. Xiaomj is giving quality for affordable price. Thats just amazing. But i don’t like ads on system apps. And miui copying iOS. Overall Xiaomi makes good stuff.
Getting 10 to 11 hours on my Mi Note 10 Lite :D. not relevant but just want to show off my cheap phone :’D
Xiaomi are killing it rn. They have my full support. All my family have Xiaomi phones.
Let’s hope the company doesn’t get banned as well lol. I guess that’s what happens to competitive non-american brands nowadays.
Does anyone in the United States use this on the AT&T network? If so, how is the coverage?
I have a Redmi note 8t to, it’s a very pleasent phone sadly Xiaomi engineiers can’t find a way to update it to Android 10 and Miui 12.
Oh yeah, man. It keeps getting pushed forward. But I’m glad. The more test runs they do, the less buggy it’ll be when we finally get it.
let me guess, you never owned a flagship?
Wait til you use the Mi 10 Ultra
What service??
I think you’d get a software headstart if you got the EU version,Google services out of the box. Anyways, glad you’re enjoying it.
i think any phone in the early days is the best 😀
I came from an iPhone X to a redmi note 9 pro and I can honestly say, with the exception of the camera, everything on here is as good as or better than the iPhone.
The note 9 pro is far from a flagship and it’s as good. I can’t imagine having a flagship matters anymore. In the past, sure. My redmi note 4 before the iPhone was a way worse experience and it felt like a completely different world. But I can honestly say the note 9 pro mid-ranger is as solid an experience.
You can turn off the ads. Usually in the settings of each app there’s a “recommendations” setting. Just opt out. It’s a pain, but eh I’m not too mad.
Yep i did all of them but strangely it still shows ads but not alltime.
That’s annoying. You did the one in the main settings as well? I disable them as I find one that I previously didn’t catch. Lol
Mi 10 Pro here. It’s good, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best ever.
I came from a Huawei P20 Pro which had a better camera and better UI. The Mi 10 has a better screen and a better selfie cam, but EMUI is 5 years ahead of MIUI, easily. The Huawei camera app is also class leading, whereas the Xiaomi camera app is where Sony was about 10 years ago. The Mi 10 has similar battery life to the P20, but the P20 was too aggressive on the power saving, causing some apps to stop working, so I’m happier with the Mi 10 on that front.
For me, the Mi 10 is good enough, but it’s not flagship material.
Anyone know how to do a table in Reddit comments? I’d love to do a side-by-side.
I just disabled the “msa” thing on settings. Is there any other setting for it?
Notifications not very visible with the notch on the way, average battery and really dislike the camera distortion for normal photos.
I’m stil sitting on an older Mi A2 and it’s still pretty great. Amazing how good Xiaomi phones are for the price.
The eu version is missing all important lte bands in the us. Instead I’m using the xiaomi.eu rom.
I’m using the EU version of the Note 8 Pro in the Bahamas (which I assume uses the same or similar bands) and it works just fine.🤷♂️
Mine is heavily debloated and I have it on half brightness. Also that’s a lot of youtube.
Owned the Mi9 and loved it. Screen died on me. Upgraded to an S10+. If Samsung isn’t putting the headphone jack back on the S21 or N21, I’ll be getting a Mi20 Ultra.
For att in the usa you need 2,4,5,12/17 for lte to work best. There are other bands but they are only used in very congested places. If the phone is missing 12 and 17 in particular everywhere but cities you will be stuck in 3g
Oh lol you have to go into individual apps and disable the recommendations. All the Xiaomi preloaded apps have their own settings page where you need to do this.
Yep i disabled all of them, like i said it still sometimes shows ads.
I have that, might do an ama
How did you debloat it?
Lol I love them too, only my whole family uses Apple sadly and I can’t convert them.
And that happens usually only to chinese brands, Samsung for example is competing with no problem in the us.
Wait till bugs start to creep in.
IDK which bands my country uses,I assumed similar to USA.
You can use ADB or install Xiaomi.eu (very good option, but you need to unlock your bootloader; it’s really simple, though), for example. You can also root it and debloat it within the phone, I believe there are many scripts to make it easier, too. There are many ways, Google them.
Install Xiaomi.eu. It’s not really hard, you just follow step-by-step instructions. It gives you lots of good stuff, no ads as well. You can check out the instructions and what it offers on [their website](https://xiaomi.eu/) under releases section.
But it also harms your warranty.
Actually it shouldn’t. Xiaomi gives you the option to “legally” unlock your bootloader and warranty should be fine.
Anyway, I have never needed a warranty, and repair services usually don’t do their job well if any, but I know it might be sometimes helpful.
The Mi 9t is life goals for me.
What are you suggesting, I am confused, u mean keeping brightness at highest can save battery
9T pro is better
Welcome to the community ! I wish i had a Mi 10 😅 maybe next year…. Hehe
Xiaomi.eu rom doesn’t unlock extra LTE bands
Mi 9 here. Really great phone, nth to complain abt except maybe the battery is weaker now that I used it for over 1 year.
Yea, shit is a proper word. Never owned more glitchy and more annoying phone before..
correct. I have the china version of the phone but use [Xiaomi.e](https://Xiaomi.eu)u so i have google apps
I misread your comment, sorry 🙂
All good! I just want to make sure people have the correct info.
I’m loving my MI 10 Ultra. Epic piece of kit. Glad I took a leap of faith and imported it.I don’t mind in removing and customising the rom to my needs either.
ADB is a great piece of software to “debloat” and remove some of the apps that I don’t need.
Installed Google services and it’s pretty much there apart from AI assistant keeps setting itself as the default assistant.
So, has anyone installed [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) rom and still have 100% functionality of the MI 10 Ultra?
Xiaomi for life now. 🙂
Do you already have miui 12?
Yep
So, what’s your problem with miui 12? And why do you think emui is better?
I wouldn’t say I’ve got a problem with MIUI at all. I just don’t think it’s the amazing user experience most people on this sub seem to think it is. It’s smooth and responsive most of the time. It looks slick and most people who see me using the phone say it looks great.
Compared to EMUI it’s just not as polished or feature rich. It glitches more often (e.g. icons only getting half drawn or animations not completing). EMUI’s knuckle gestures worked great and I miss them. The menus in EMUI seem more intuitive to navigate, and the search in MIUI often doesn’t return obvious results.
EMUI wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination. It had it’s glitches and there were plenty of things which frustrated me all the time, but it was a vast improvement over the Sony I’d come from.
Why no option to automatically answer a call when I bring the phone to my ear, for example? Or the option to control calls, music, etc through the smart cover (even though the Xiaomi has a window and always on display). Even in the latest MIUI, double tapping the volume down button from the lock screen still turns the volume down as well as launching the camera. They’re not major faults, but they’re the nice features & polish that you expect from a flagship phone.
For me though, the biggest issue is the camera. I bought the Mi 10 Pro because it supposedly had the best camera going. And, in Pro mode, I’m sure it’s highly capable in the right hands. But the Huawei had it licked in a lot of ways. The point & shoot AI would get the settings right more often and more accurately. The night mode produced great photos without trying. The motion detection on the super slow motion video was more useful than the “slow motion will begin at the end of recording” on the Xiaomi (although it wasn’t as good as being able to choose like you can on other brands). The Huawei camera had many more useful features for taking stylish pictures, like light trails, silky water, star trails, document scan, etc, etc.
I like my Mi 10 Pro, but it isn’t as accomplished a phone as my 2-3 year old Huawei, and the camera is several years behind again, in terms of software.
Paid less than 290 dollars for the Mi 9T 128GB (not the pro version) on Nov 11 last year. Couldn’t be happier, it’s absolutely incredible. Think it’ll last me another year and then I can keep it as a backup phone or sell it with a good conscience.
