Interested in the 15 ultra but I see complaints about it’s battery (and overheating) all the time. Yet on gsmarena it shows that it’s better than the s25 ultra and even the vivo 200pro.
Is their test not realistic and does not translate to real life use? Can it at least go a full day on one charge?

all xiaomi phones are mediocre in battery life starting hyperOS exists.
Can it at least go a full day on one charge? Yes
Does it overheat? Not in my usage
If you really want to go nuts and use the photography kit it adds another 2000 milliamp hours of battery for lots of shooting.
Honestly mine has been pretty good, but more than any other phone it does need that initial week to settle down, and you do need to keep an eye on why apps are draining battery because some apps which are hardly used sink it and I find need to be set to turn off more quickly.
But overall mine has been pretty good but worse since least update (which I suspect is linked to suddenly getting endless notifications from the system browser and games center suggesting they’ve started running in the background and need rejigging by me!)
Actually that was the case even before HyperOS. Had pretty mid battery life on Mi 10 and Mi 11.
Hey, I have one since early April and no issue whatsoever. I get easily a day of battery with heavy use.
About temps, I feel like people are paranoid, it gets a bit warm when under load but it’s not overheating or hot at all.
Been using it since launch. Global version with EU firmware. Varied usage, varieble refresh rate, variable resolution, balanced mode, auto brightness, Wifi6+4G+, sometimes bluetooth when commuting, using youtube/reddit/samsung internet/instagram mainly. Charging between 80-30%. It always lasts a full 24 hours. Around 4 hours of SoT (I believe the digital wellbeing app is not precise, Iam sure it is more in reality).
Mine is solid. No over heating issues. I use my camera all the time. That is a drain on the battery but it’s not that bad.
It’s worse than bad. This is me today. 70% in 3 hrs 39 mins!!!! Travelling so listening to radio (with screen off), 1 HR of netflix max in this time, social media etc. absolutely horrible, I hate this phone because of the battery

It’s not that bad. Pretty decent.
Not too bad honestly, I get a full day for sure after moderate to high use.
The 15U global version has been amazing for me from the get go. Easily a two day phone! Never had it overheat either.
I have the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and I also think that the battery life is not great. 5-6h SoT.
No problem here, light use is 2 days easy.
Some conflicting experiences here.. I don’t know what to conclude.
It’s always the same. The answer is it depends. Battery life always depends on the usage and network strength.
If you use the camera heavily, no strong mobile coverage in your area, use 5G all the time, then the battery drains fast.
At a fair point, I can say the battery life is quite good.
I’ve had my 15 Ultra for a little bit shy of 2 months now. Battery life is okay. And some other members have stated it’ll get you through the day but it’s not terrible and it’s nowhere near amazing. I unplug 100% at 6:00 a.m., and usually hitting 10% or below around 9:00 p.m.. I didn’t leave it charging overnight.
If you take multiple pictures in a short period of time it’ll dramatically drain the battery.
Mine is great. I’m confused by some unfounded claims against this phone popping up here and there. OS is fine, battery and camera both great and I bought at launch so I got a really competitive deal inc discount, 90w charger, photography kit and the Pad 7 Pro. I can’t complain.
Depends on your use case, if you do alot of shooting and videoing then no the battery will not survive a full day on one charge.
Take under consideration that (not to generalize completely here) people(especially on reddit) who get Xiaomi 15 Ultra are more techy people who will analyze stuff more and use features like camera that is crazy power hungry on this phone. My battery life is generally good on medium use. It tended to heat up bad to 43.5 while charging and uploading files to youtube over 5G while scrolling instagram. Xiaomi is aware of lack of optimization that’s why few basic apps in Global Western market like Instagram and youtube by default are set to 60hz so it doesn’t cook the phone. I had temps like 39c just by scrolling instagram shorts for 10 minutes which got uncomfortable in the hands. I noticed when you turn off the battery protection and charge the phone to 100% that 20% acts like at least 40% in my case-battery life is much much better but you sacrifice the wear on the battery cell. I am very happy with the phone and wouldn’t change it. I already said in the posts before that previous flagships always needed 5 months to settle with the updates and optimization so i am not worried. Get version for your market and have fun – Phone’s a beast!
After using for a few days the battery is awesome.
I went away the other weekend and got 2 full days out of my phone.
I think it is really good. Only thing that really drains the battery is the camera. It goes down fast then
Day to day usage without much camera…it’s actually decent.
Once you start shooting, watch the battery percentage drop like crazy lol.
Sometimes mine gets ridiculously hot.
Looks like it’s a luck of the draw thing since others are claiming their phone never overheats and the battery apparently lasts and eternity for them lol.
Yes, it’s very bad. When I’m at home it lasts around 8 hours but when I go to school it lasts under 5 hours, I don’t know why and I don’t really care since I’m selling it soon,

This is how bad it is sometimes. 100-19% in 3h 23mins is absolutely insane.
Got nothing to complain about.
Well I’ve got the Xiaomi 15 which is similar and my battery life is absolutely atrocious worse than my previous Pixel 8a which had a smaller battery and a supposedly less efficient CPU. I think the main thing that causes it is hyper os as my smaller CPU cores are constantly running at like 50-60% no matter what. Unless things improve soon I’m going to either grab the Motorola 60 ultra flip or wait for the Pixel 10 Pro.
China rom, most xiaomi phones have weird battery the first week then just randomly lock in.
I easily get a full day, with 4-5 hour screen on, never has any over heating issues even when playing game.
so here’s what i have noticed owning the phone since release.
Instagram drains battery badly and warms the phone up, now i asked other people about warmth and said jt doesn’t warm it but my phone does get warm using and but i asked a samsung user with 5000 mah battery and also reported battery drainage on it but without heat, basically Instagram will consume 1% battery every 4.5-6 minutes while youtube every 10-11 minutes, this same issue existed on my previous phone from realme, if you dont use this trash app then i believe you wouldn’t have much issues, multi tasking does also warm the phone for me tho.
if anyone has a fix for Instagram please do tell me
bro how on earth does it last 2 days, what is your usage even like
I do the usual stuff; surf, scroll, listen/watch and snap pics on and off all day long. I don’t game ever though. Seriously, the battery life is insane on this phone even with the Always On Display which runs from 7am to 11pm.
thats insane, do you use Instagram? because this one fucks my battery badly
Nope, I rarely use Instagram so I can’t comment on that. Why does that app drain so much?
no idea its a fucked up app
btw could you do me a favor, could you see how many mins till you consume 1% of battery while watching youtube, also could you tell me what hyperos version you got and if you have europe rom because there seems to be 2 types of versions in hyperos2

I use both the galaxy s25 ultra and the xiaomi 15 ultra. the battery is okay but the s25 ultra seems to do it better consistently.
yep
I dont understand how people claim that it’s bad. I’ve gone in a day with mobile data on all the time and browsing from time to time with bluetooth earphones connected and it lasted me for 10 hours
Constant use of processing power due to reels on autoplay, pre-loading of images and videos etc. It also works in the background so keeps sipping power.
I once did an experiment and uninstalled instagram for a week, for that entire week my Xiaomi 14 lasted 2 days as compared to 1 day when instagram is installed and I use it normally.
Can you imagine how hot it gets when the weather temp is 50°?
The best approach for a rogue app is to go to Settings … Battery … scroll down to Instagram… select Instagram and then scroll down to “Battery saver” and choose “restrict background apps”.
I have to do this for YouTube or else it just runs, kills my battery, and gets the phone hot. When I use that setting, it solves the problem. I have no idea why this works or what setting I have in YouTube premium that causes this problem. But once I “restrict background apps”, my battery life is fantastic.
Yes.
°F or °C (I guess Fahrenheit as in Celsius it would be near world record)? I already tested with 30+°C and it wasn’t anything particular compared to my other phones.
nope. not Fahrenheit, its 50° CELSIUS here in Iraq 🙂
Wow that’s hot, well in such high temps and in direct sunlight any device will heat a lot (even rugged phones)
Its silicon baterry, better then the others on the market.
Uhmmmm US is literally the only country that uses fahrenheit.
But as you may not know, lots of Americans default to their units…
Had mine since launch (global unit) and the battery has been really bad, I take like 2 photos and 2% just drops. Boxed it up to resell, it’s a shame as I did enjoy the phone and camera but not getting through the day was bothering me. Also, I’ve had android auto issues, screen keeps going blank from time to time and can’t turn the phone screen back on for awhile 🤦🏽♂️
No, who told you?
