I had a similar problem, it was the “network acceleration” option which was activated in the Wifi settings.

Same here. It’s quite annoying.
I believe that this issue is happening when you are getting far from the router and the Wi-Fi adapter in your Xiaomi phone will connect to the 2.4GHz network. This may generate this wrong notification about the wrong Wi-Fi password. It’s wrong for sure because I’m correctly connected to the internet.
