OMG FINALLY! I was wondering when will they find out how horrible it was… Especially when an app has more types of notifications (e.g. Play Store), and you had to swipe down to find out what it was about. I’m so glad they’re addressing it! But still – does anyone have an idea how will they solve activating Google Assistant considering the new gesture navigation? They haven’t thought much about it imho…

Unfortunately, not all icons are monochrome. Notorious amongst some with colour icons are miuis own apps and some systemui related ones like a in-progress dialogue icon and some others. I hated it.

I’m shocked how so many people here are excited to see black and white indistinguishable icons, and refer to them as a big upgrade.
It’s now not possible to see in a glimpse if there is one notification that interests you more. a huge downgrade.

Nooooooo. To me Miui’s colored icons was their little touch or uniqueness among all the OS and android skin that set them apart! I know most people prefer the monochrome icons but I really don’t get why. The multicolored icons are way more appealing visually. Why do you guys prefer simplistic black and white icons? Do you really find them prettier or is just because it’s the way they are in Android stock?
Sure, but it’d still be nice to have a way to activate it without voice. As for the one handed mode, I haven’t found a way to activate it either, maybe via Quick Ball or something? I don’t know… The last version I used was miui 8 and I have only used Lineage since…

On nougat and above MIUI 9.5 yes. On MIUI 10 no, because they love screwing around with notifications.
It wasn’t really the colorful icons that drove me crazy but the white background made it look like it was designed by a drunk 5 year old
Some people like monochrome because it is more stylistically consistent with the rest of the status bar (clocks, signals and stuff).
I personally like colored icons because it’s easier to tell which app it is coming from.
After all these years, finally! MIUI doesn’t look as cartoonish as before now!

I can see where they come from. Well a page is turned I guess. I’ll definitely miss the colored icons that I always associated to Miui. But hey, I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to tweak the new icons

what bothered me more was the one handed mode, being a MIUI thing, it’s impossible to activate (as far as I know) with the gestures as you have to swipe from the home button

Good, it’s always the little things that go on my nerves!
Would also love to get a dark shadow when I open a FOLDER on the homescreen. Really don’t see why the folder background is 100% transparent…at least add some blur for gods sake, there’s nothing worse than icons / white text overlapping with a colorful wallpaper and other icons.
