And design companies be like:
*”Three million dollars please”*
don’t loose all your faith in logo designers, some of them actually do a good job. Check out the Peugeot’s recent logo redesign

i swear this is some money laundering or tax evasion technique
border-radius: 38px;

Don’t like that design it looks like it’s form Warcraft
And yet here we are talking about it, even if we are making fun of it, along with dozens of websites, social media, and even cable news. Pretty sure this is exactly the kind of reaction they wanted so they can have as much name recognition as possible
Or a sneaky plan to get more publicity, which had turned out to be pretty successful.
i think xiaomi is already rather well known
Not in the Western part of the world aka the market they’re trying to get into.
OK its easy to do. So what? That’s not the point. It’s like when people see a piece of modern art that’s simple to make in execution and day “well I could make that”, the point is that they didn’t. However easy it is for you to adapt the miui logo to the new one, you didn’t come up with the idea of the curved border; that’s where the artistic design comes in. There’ll have been plenty of research into what elements of the logo they want to keep and what they want to change, how much the corners should curve, what other logos have curved edges, what the associations of having such a logo change are, what the public reaction would be etc etc. This is just lazy, armchair criticism.
Exactly. Xiaomi have done an incredible job over the past month or two keeping themselves in the news. Take a look at the feed on gsmarena or gizmochina, every day there’s talk of new phone models, processors, software updates, etc. This is clearly a part of a big recent strategy to get themselves in the public consciousness.
Dude this is satire.
I’m new to this sub, but is it *satire*? It sure seems to me like everybody here is literally making fun of it, unironically. That has nothing to do with satire.
Well I haven’t read many other comments/posts on here, so I don’t know about the others.
But my video was supposed to be a joke. I don’t think that’s something one usually speedruns. I thought that some would find it funny, I didn’t want to attack anyone. (I probably should have added a disclaimer or uploaded it on April 1st.)
I actually have done some design work myself and I know how hard it is to come up with *good* ideas.
They are pretty well known all over the Western world except the US.
Most people in their US target market would have heard of Xiaomi’s by now. Their problem is their reputation for their phones in the US, which is non existent as they have never sold any phone there, minus the negative connotation of being a Chinese company.
Reminds me of Brave browser
Dude relax most of the people got the joke, it is funny.
I really don’t want to be rude but it is not pronoinced X-iomi. It’s pronounced Ciao (Italian) Me (English)
Chinese Xiao is similar to the Italian Ciao.
Xiaomi = Ciao-Me
Oh okay thanks! Guess I have been saying it wrong all the time.
We all do, it’s so new and who the hell knows Chinese 😀
Like Xin (common name) is pronounced as english Chin. It’s that Xi in the beginning that is special. Had a colleague named Xin and that’s how I learnt it, the hard way. Pretty awkward calling him x-in before I knew it but he was used to it.
Aaaand that’s all the chinese I know..
