I recently bought a Mi A2 Lite to my grandfather, while it’s been a month since i bought my Mi A2. We are both very happy with them! (Picture was taken with my “old” Mi5s)

Can you make a small review/comparison for someone who can’t decide which one to get?
I personally prefer the Mi A2. Despite the sizes and the battery, the phone is doing really well: at the end of the day i still have the 20% of battery, thanks to SD 660, which gives the right balance between performance and battery consumption. The phone never showed problems like lag or bugs while using my applications. The only problem is the proximity sensor, that sometimes misfires, but nothing that make me change my opinion about the phone.
The photos are spectacular considering the price of the device and could be perfect if Xiaomi better develop the software that manages them. In fact the hdr does not always work optimally.
But, when it comes to the quality/price ratio, the Mi A2 Lite is the true winner.
It is less powerful than the Mi A2 in everything that i said from an objective point of view, but it also has that everything at a lower price. I don’t know how much is the Mi A2 Lite in your country, but in mine i bought it for 160 € and that is insane. Because there is a difference between the two phones, but it is not so evident. And the Mi A2 has a way better battery life, that won’t probably easily decrease over time as for the Mi A2, the micro sd slot and the 3.5 jack.
In conclusion, if you need a phone with an excellent quality/price ratio, go for the Mi A2 Lite.
If you need something more, go for the Mi A2.
I hope i explained myself. My english is not so good, but you can ask anything if you need!
Lol is that the S5 Neo’s stock wallpaper
I have an A2 and I’m not too sure about the camera. I love the phone but I haven’t been able to take any decent pictures ~ either they r too grainy or not very sharp. R u using the stock settings? GCam?
I had Mi5 before A2. I feel the same way; I much prefer the photos I would take on my old phone.
lol the first thing that i noticed when i turn on the phone was the wallpaper similar to the S5 Neo’s one
Why did you go from the Mi 5s to the Mi A2? I thought an older Snapdragon 821 would still be better than a newer 660. Was it the battery?
I wanted to try something different from Miui (which I still love) and, considering the positive experience with Xiaomi products (Mi 5s and Mi5), i decided to buy the Mi A2.
Also the battery played a central role in this: with the Mi 5s i had a lot of problem the last months, because battery died always around 6/7 pm.
I convinced my grandmother to buy a Mi A1.
I bought MI 5X to my father, it’s great one also.
I’m thinking of getting a regular Mi A2 for my dad, how’s the battery life on yours?
If you’re willing to root it, there’s a pie version of lineage os for it that’s nearly without bugs and with the Google camera mod your pictures should look even better. Plus the phone should last a day again 🙂
I went Mi 5 to Mi A2 lite. Battery life on the the A2 lite is way better. Performance is great. Android one is good enough. Absolutely 0 complaints to make.
Also, your English is very good. Probably better than many native English speakers.
Actually i’m using the stock camera. The pictures are very good if you consider how cheap is that phone and they would be even better if Xiaomi try to develop a better camera software. The most evident problems are HDR and AI. The first one doesn’t work well and, in most cases, the aren’t differences with standard pictures (no hdr). At the moment, i don’t know if the AI is fake or not. To date I have not yet had any signs of life from it. A less important problem is exposure, which sometimes misfires, but nothing critical.
Thanks a lot dude! I’m italian and here the only way to improve english is by youtube videos, formums and Reddit. So i’ll work on it!
Positive experience <---> Mi 5s
Pick one.
What is the spec of MI A2 Lite?
my grandpa ask me every time how to send a SMS
You have a skilled grandpa !
I immediately thought you were italian (like me) because how you “build” your sentences. They sound very italian-ish. But still a good English
Also, could you have one concern I’m having about the device. I heard that mi phones get really hot. Should i be concerned about it heating?
My Mi A2, Mi5s and Mi5 never got hot! But i think it depends on the use.
Kek potevi dirmelo che eri italiano ahah
Almeno ora so che c’è qualcuno che comprende il mio dramma con l’inglese
So, how do you use it? Content watching, gaming, internet use etc. Could you please tell me which you do most?
Edit: i mean do you push your phone to work hard often
He loves technology and to learn how to use it!
I use You Tube, Whats App, Reddit and Chrome for internet, no probs with them.
Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and Fire Emblem Heroes are the only two games that i have on the phone and it never got warm while playing.
Thanks a ton man, this was really helpful.
You’re welcome dude! If you want to ask anything, i’m here!
Well since you mention it, in your opinion which is better Android one or miui

When you say audio do you mean calls or music?
I haven’t noticed any stuttering so far but I don’t use any resource intensive apps.
I can’t really say with music. I only use headphones or Bluetooth speaker. Sorry
Oh right. Sorry. It’s been great so far.
