Hi OP here,
Feel free to give your comments on how you felt about my guide.
I felt that I had to create my own website since some information was not available in the subreddit wiki or the information was scattered around different forum threads.
I’m open to all suggestions. Also since all of the information present is open-source, you can also contribute and create a pull request.
Note that the guide is still in its early stages and there will be many more sections.
If you have a list of apps that you recommend to debloat, please contribute and create a PR. Thanks
Thanks. I’ll elaborate more on it and provide a link to my source
Damn… I thought Xiaomi.eu would be better than stock Miui…
But sadly they still had deep implementation of security and junk cleaner… (especially the last)
Also I still had problems with some apps.
I am now on a custom rom, so much better, even if I miss some features.
Also I like the camera app of Miui more than gcam ports. I don’t like the complicated installation using xml files (for night and day two different?) and how much can be changed in the settings….
So I have installed AnxCamera as Magisk Module and I now have many of the stock camera features on my Ressurection Remix OS.
Maybe you can add a hint to anx to?
Is the bl unlock time limit on Poco devices too? Possibly add a new section on how Poco devices differ from others.
As a noobs I want a list that explain pros and cons of uninstalled each Xiaomi stock apps (debloater)…. For example if I use debloater and uninstalled Mi community app, is there any side effects?
Unfortunately the security ap on miui is not just a security app but it is strictly Integrated with the multitasking and app management, so removing it is impossible at the moment
Yeah… Especially on Xiaomi.eu it was much more integrated in everything.
On my stock Rom I disabled the junk cleaner without problems. But security wasn’t that intrusive and haven’t disabled it.
Switched to non Miui since my app still wasn’t working.
You can also include
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.learnpainless.disable_system_apps
Its an app for miui to disable apps including some system apps without using pc or adb but this was working on miui 11 and earlier but i didn’t tried it on miui 12 as i did it by the other method that you posted
This is the screenshot of when you click remove apps in this app and this gives this stock android type of menu which is different from your default menu as it includes disable button idk y Xiaomi hide it in first place

The junk cleaner can be uninstalled on .eu too. Security app is impossible on any version, it will just give bootloop. An interesting difference is joyose, on stock it’s a useless process, on .eu is a very cool feature to prevent fake cells attacks (very useful for American/Hong Kong/Belarus/whatever users that partake in riots and don’t want their IMEI taken by authorities but still want to film)
That’s awesome! I know there was a tool developed by… The supersu dev? But it was only proof of concept.
Sure… I don’t really need it here in Germany, but the police is known for using cell towers while demonstrations of left orientated reasons (privacy, data security,…)
Yes i don’t know if it actually works but that’s its description, also it’s only accessible through activity launcher (or at least it was maybe now it’s officially released or cancelled)
Hi,
why the Xiaomi adb Tools? Shouldn’t generic ADB work?
I only use the stock Google ADB/fastboot.
Thanks for sharing!
Because the Xiaomi ADB Tools is easier to use. It lists only the apps that are safe to remove
Great job.
I can’t help but imagine you like Megumin. And Fate, maybe.
Any solutions for high battery usage of standby during night? Or cell signal beside turning on airplane mode? My phone just constantly drains 1-2% of battery per hour when the screen is off. I tried almost everything. Did data wipe after upgrading to miui 12. Debloated with adb tool. Using blokada with Jerry Xiaomi block list. Changed prefered connection type to LTE/wcdma.
Any ideas?
That’s really helpful, thanks!
I’m trying to unlock my bootloader for days now without any luck.
My Mi Mix 2 is linked to the Mi account, developer options are on (OEM and USB debug), etc.
When using the Mi Unlock App, it keeps saying ‘can’t get info’ at around 99% of the unlock.
I really want Lineage OS again…
Well many thanks really 👍👍. I just discovered the Java removal tool a few days ago and I just feel better thinking that my data (or at least a part of it) is not being sent to Xiaomi. This also improved my ram availability (~300Mb).
And though I have installed Lineage OS tons of times on old phones I must say I had never heard of Xiaomi EU. I am taking a look right now
Closing background apps to reduce battery drain is kinda wrong. I get the point where you have Netflix, YouTube and a game open at the same time (one in use, other apps in 2nd plan), but closing the actual BACKGROUND (non-visible apps) will cause the phone to waste more energy re-opening them and also be slower when doing It, so it’s a double loss. Never keep clearing your RAM because you think your phone is wasting more energy. The RAM is supposed to be allocated to common apps so that you have to wait less and use less energy to open them.
I would not buy a Xiaomi phone if not for [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) rom.

Give us more information. Did you buy the Mix 2 new or used? How long did you wait before trying? Is your Mi account valid? Did you use a common email address like gmail?
BTW, When I unlocked my Mix 2 in 2018 the unlock tool told me unlocking failed, but it was a false notification. The unlock actually occured a few seconds later with no notification of success.
There was a guide I found a while ago explaining the possible side effects of freezing certain MIUI apps: [https://devcondition.com/article/removing-unneeded-miui-applications](https://devcondition.com/article/removing-unneeded-miui-applications/). I could include those in my guide and maybe rework on some things (I believe the descriptions were translated from a different language).
You make a good point, and I think Google has definitely improved on Android’s multitasking efficiency (performance and battery wise) in recent updates. However I think for the average user, you’re probably still better off clearing up your recent tasks.
I might also include that I’m also over at [XDA-developers](https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5811506) and have written a few other guides there too. You may know me there for my [CPU Governors guide](https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/ref-to-date-guide-cpu-governors-o-t3048957) or for my other work in the kernel space.
Yeah, ofc closing any unused apps (say you were in Weather app, it’s still open in the background If you just go back to the Main Screen). I just don’t think many users should mess with the hidden processes. You described the right process to follow If a certain app is draining the battery, or maybe it’s a System glitch. Anyways, good post! Thanks for helping users understand these things, these are commonly asked questions here everyday.
Cheers for the link. Have updated the guide with the source included.
I’ve just started working on a database of working Gcam version for each model. I’ll start with a few examples, but of course would like to see many more devices listed.
If you wish to add your own experience, feel free to create a pull request.
Thanks! Im having a problem with MIUI and maybe you can help me.
My redmi note 7 always use the build-in microphone, even when I connect my headphones, and it’s annoying. For example, I have a GT1 Plus now, and when I use them all the sound (youtube, music, etc.) its going out to my earbuds, but if I record a whatsapp audio uses the build-in microphone and not my earbuds microphone. I’ll try with an app (SoundAbout) to see if it works, but having the app running in background all the times it’s not the best solution.
Any idea?
Hey, bluetooth issues are unfortunately quite common with xiaomi devices. Do you have some other device you can borrow to test if it works (e.g. laptop/another phone)? Have to tried re-pairing your earphones? How about restarting your phone?
There are a few things that could be the cause:
– Firmware on phone
– Firmware on Bluetooth headset
– Software bugs (Bluetooth protocol is pretty horrible tbh)
Awesome suggestion! I’m a bit wary however about recommending apps that contain ads, but may consider still adding it since it could help people without PCs nearby (as you’ve said).
So if I got this correct, you’re saying that mobile/cell signal is draining most of your battery?
Usually the cause of this type of drainage is from poor network signal (more frequent network activity/reconnects).
In this case, there really isn’t much that can be done other than switching to a mobile provider with stronger coverage. In some cases physical obstructions (e.g. your case) could affect signals. Also, some devices may have better a 4g antenna compared to others.
And a great guide it is.
Was my introduction to governers, as it has been for many others.
Will check out your new tweaking guide with the expectation of picking up a few new nuggets of new info.
Ahaha. I could’ve kept it all fate related, but chose to change it up with characters from other shows 🙂
I’m surprised too it’s a thing as well. Gitlab often gets overshadowed by Github in terms of open-source, but that’s not really an issue.
Hope you enjoy your device once it arrives, especially after tweaking it 🙂
Thanks for the link because it’s will clear some doubts
Yes, I have my smart watch connected too (MI band 4), and I have some speakers and stuff in the list, I’ll unpair all of them to see what happens. I’ll reboot as well, cause I pair the earbud’s but I didn’t reboot the phone, maybe that helps.
Re-pairing yes, I tried it several times and didn’t work.
I think maybe it’s a software bug, because the firmware it’s the latest oficial version and global ROM. And I guess it’s not a bt firmware on headset because no one report it and it’s a very popular headset (gt1 plus).
Nope. Already clear all the devices and reboot the phone but it still use the build-in mic
No adds method :
Download activity launcher
Find apps and notification
It will open the same stock menu that the app was opening
https://photos.app.goo.gl/QtVyHH1yquA5r3f27
57% battery at 4h50m screen on time. Thats a massive improvement!
Thanks!
I bought the phone new, around 2 years ago. It’s a global version bought in Belgium.
My Mi account in linked to the phone from the beginning, with a hotmail account.
I did the unlock in developer options last weekend. It didn’t say ‘wait xx hours’.
In the meantime, I added a bug ticket to Xiaomi.
I actually managed to solve it by using the Mi unlock application on another computer. I read somewhere that AMD cpu might be the problem. I launched it on my Mi notebook (Intel) and it worked fine from the first go.
Good news. Glad you finally got it sorted.
Now you can take advantage of all the root apps like Titanium Backup and custom ROMS like Xiaomi.eu. I still love my Mix 2 even tho it is recently EOL for Android and MIUI updates.
I found a hidden activity which can clear your speaker if it gets dirty or wet it’s apple watch like feature which plays a loud sound from your speaker which throws water or dirt out of your speaker and plzz disconnect any earphones wired or wireless before playing the sound because then it will play sound from them and that’s gonna hurt (happened with me)😂🤣
Steps : Download activity launcher
Search : Speaker
Activity name : most probably there will b only this one available in most phones still i m posting actual name com.android.settings.Settings$SpeakerSettingsActivity
Click it and done also sharing screenshots for reference

Which steps did you follow?
Steps
Ensure ADB debugging has been enabled on your device
On your machine, open a command prompt in the location adb platform tools was extracted
Run: adb shell cmd package bg-dexopt-job
And uninstaling apps, i just uninstalled those they recommended. No idea which one worked.
Thanks. Which phone?
Mi 9T (QFJEUXM)
I am currently at 9:30h at 5% battery.
Thanks a lot. Love you!
The fuck you still have Android system draining? I got mine at 32(even higher than before doing the debloat) i dont know what to do
