Just click and drag from the corner.
Hey, I can’t resize floating windows in the Mi 11 Ultra :/
Mine must be broken, because everytime I click on it, nothing happens.
I did find out resizable windows right when I first got my phone (yes, it’s my new Mi 11 Lite) – it’s the hint at the top of Overview screen. There are _no indications_ whatsoever [in the demo section in the settings page](https://i.imgur.com/Xg6co5D.jpg) nor on the windows themselves that tell me “drag the corner to resize windows”.
Wasn’t for me. There were no hints that they were resizable.
You open any app and you pull your notification tab down and click floating window.
So when you go into recent (multitask), and press and hold, you have two options, for 2 apps and for floating windows.
It certainly isn’t “obvious” as others say, especially if you didn’t use it before. But also, it’s a “meh” feature, that will be rarely used.
“meh”. Super Meh in my book. Have a tiny window of an app on a tiny screen overlaying another window on an OS that’s apps were not designed to be functional/readable as small windows? This is a marketing feature with very limited use outside of maybe a calculator app.
Plus the number of apps that actually allow for multiwindow or floating window mode becomes less and less with each update, so it seems
PC techniques don’t normally translate to mobile devices so that wouldn’t have been my first assumption.
i don’t even know what ‘floating windows’ are – how to use them or what’s the advantage…so I avoid them. and WHY are things changed all the time? I just get used to something and wham!! it is or looks different.
But MIUI should prevent you from doing that with the settings app
Now that you guys have mentioned it, I can’t put Settings in floating mode any more XD I guess it’s a bug in MIUI, but I don’t know how to reproduce yet.
Btw there’s a flag in Developer Settings called `Force activities to be resizable`. I knew it from the LineageOS days that you can turn it on to force any app to be available in split screen mode. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the floating windows.
Because that’s extremely obvious
Wait wait wait, how did you put the settings app in floating window?
you can do it with any app if you have another floating window minimized on the corner. drag it to the middle and it will swap between the app
Well it depends on some devices they are completely blocked
How did you put settings in floating window?
It doesn’t show that in the tutorial they included with this function
Those are tbe good questions
You can make resizable freeform window .
Just freeform the app you like .
After that just long press the middle of the right and down corner / left and down corner , now you can freely resize it
Two methods, one is using game turbo and other is tapping on “floating window” button in control panel
How could that be..??
I honestly don’t answer the question. What do you mean MIUI doesn’t tell you that floating windows are resizable?
anyone with slightest experience using a PC would at least tried to resize it. not everything need to be spoonfed
The floating video calls are resizable too
That’s the right question.
How did you do that?
Didn’t let me with the settings app just now, but works with others
IMO, floating Window is not as useful as split screen.
I always use split screen to type copying from another app if copy/paste is not available.
If you dont know yet go to your setting and type floating windows. And learn its feature and gesture from there.
Here’s Op’s comment “Now that you guys have mentioned it, I can’t put Settings in floating mode any more XD I guess it’s a bug in MIUI, but I don’t know how to reproduce yet.
