Hard Day for Xiaomi 15 Ultra

  • 0
  • 0

Shooting photos, Spotify, wireless Android Auto while driving for maps, second control for my fitness workout, video streaming, work calls and the usual Socials. So far, the best usage I’ve gotten from this phone. Global version running 2.0.103 and battery life appears to still be improving little by the.

I don’t think it’ll live up to the insane battery life of my 2019 Huawei P30 Pro but it gets close. How’s everyone else doing? Would be nice to see others getting better than me!

Ohhh I see. Are there any features on her phone that you wish you had on yours? I’m kinda used to the occasional bugs at this point and I’d say I’m savvy enough to try to solve them so I don’t mind staying on HyperOS. I’d say my biggest factors is the camera/photo quality.. I rarely shoot videos. (and price ofc)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Oxygen OS allow you to limit battery charge level? 80% or something? This feature isn’t a deal breaker for me cause I can just use an app to alert me when it’s reached 80% and manually unplug it.

My sister has gotten 5 or 6 updates so far and all of them have added new features on top of bug fixes and security patches.

I’ve gotten 3 updates, but only one can really be considering a feature update as it went from HyperOS 2.0 to 2.1. the other two were simple security patches.

We’ve both had our phones for roughly the same time period. Xiaomi software update policy for the 15 series is 4 years of major OS (so Android 15 -> 19), and 6 years of security. OnePlus is the same, but they just provide more frequent features and big fix updates. That’s the difference.

How often is the 13 getting updates? And isn’t didn’t they extend the major Android updates for the 15 and 15 Ultra to 6 years?

Sorry, I meant OxygenOS. It has less bugs, better cohesion, more frequent updates for features and monthly security patches, stability and optimization.

I can’t comment on the Xiaomi interconnectivity but if that is something important to you, then go for it! The X15 is still a very good phone.

ColourOS? That’s only for Chinese versions, no? The global version is Oxygen OS.
In what ways is Oxygen OS better than HyperOS?
Idk if it mattera but I’ve also got a xiaomi tablet and I think it’d be cool to be able to use Xiaomi interconnectivity. I’m currently using a POCO F3 😃

I have not used the regular Xiaomi 15 but I think it would choose the OnePlus 13 over it. Primarily down to ColorOS being superior and the gap in camera performance not all that different between the two. Also would have better band connection because the Xiaomi 15 has slightly less supported wireless bands compared to the 15 Ultra.

My sister uses the OP13 and likes it a lot. Great battery life, performance, very good cameras and smooth software. The Xiaomi may be worth it if you really want that Leica camera tuning as sometimes I find her OnePlus creates photos that are a bit too sharpened or exposed. Usually Master mode fixes that though.

Have you used the Xiaomi 15? I’m currently stuck between the OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15. But for about $1700 CAD I can get the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. I want a really good camera, but I can’t find enough reasons to justify spending that much money. The Xiaomi 15 coats about $1040 CAD with a charger for 512gb model. And the OnePlus 13 256gb costs $1260 CAD from OnePlus’s official website which comes with a charger. Any advice?

I love it. It works well with the network in my country (Canada), performance is fast, battery life is good and the cameras are great provided you work for them a bit.

Could use some scene and auto mode optimizations for the camera (minor highlight blowout and drinks battery like alcohol when using the camera) but otherwise solid.

HyperOS is quirky, some bugs need addressing like the battery stats sometimes being wrong but it’s an insanely smooth software experience for me.

    9/10 phone.

I’ve been thinking of picking up the 15U, how do you like it? Any issues? Thanks.
