May I ask what rom is that? Maybe MIUI 12? I recently get android 10 on MIUI 11 with redmi note 7, but I want to change the interface, I am getting bored, even for coming from a Lumia!!!! If is that MIUI 12 I’ll just wait for it.
Or maybe you can recommend me a ROM
but I am scared of brick my phone.

Yes it’s miui 12 and if I’m not mistaken very soon it’s coming to your device too. I’d recommend waiting as changing roms requires unlocking bootloader which is a hassle in Xiaomi devices and there’s always a possibility of bricking your phone too like you said.

Could you describe the steps? I remember looking for Mi Browser in the installed app list and it’s no longer there on MIUI 12. Are they going by a different name?

They have made something so that one can’t uninstall certain apps, only disable!
When You try to uninstall them You get response “Failure \[-1000\]”.

There is a very low chsnce you will brick your phone if you follow the instructions on XDA correctly. You can even try Xiaomi.eu which is basically miui without the junk. I would recommend stock android based ROMs like lineage os though but it’s just personal preference the easiest way to debloat is just use a custom rom.

Tried to uninstall the Mi Browser using Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools but still got Failure \[-1000\] error (Other uninstallations are working)
Edit: I can only disable it but still can’t get my Swipe Up To Google Search back
That’s the reason why my next phone will be a Google pixel or an iPhone. They cost 3 times as much but at least the provide updates on time and don’t pull shit like this

I think I uninstalled bloatware on my phone using it’s inbuilt cleaner app Cleaner>delete the apps you no longer use and selecting the app and uninstalling it

Debloat using fastboot tools…no other options. Cusrom developments are halted on rn8pro because of pathetic mediatek chips!… That’s the only reason I got a poco F1 instead of rn8pro as both were selling at same price point!

Yep use the program myself but I’m on miui10. But I have been reading across this Reddit that this tool and manual adb were not working on MI browser only on miui12.

Well.. The Xiaomi Weather App will of course open related web-pages in the Xiaomi web-browser.. Change your weather app and the problem is solved
It is sort of like Cortana in Windows 10 always opens results in the Edge browser no matter which browser you set as default

Ah, my bad, mixed it with Mint browser.
I don’t really miss it. RN7 is a bit bigger and I like that, I also like that it has less borders around the screen. I did not switch out of necessity though, I’d still use the RN4X today, but a relative of mine needed a new phone, so I gave her mine and bought a RN7.
Ah, okay, I switched out of necessity, and in turn don’t like the big screen, and the notch as well…
If it would be smaller and had no notch I’d say it’s perfect…
P.s. don’t wanna argue or anything, you have your reasons for your likes and dislikes and I have mine.

Use the manual ADB method. I also didn’t use that debloat tool. Install a universal ADB drivers first so the PowerShell on your pc can run the ADB properly.

Its even worse if you try to delete authority in the privacy settings of Mi Browser.
Try to do that in the app settings (not the Mi Browser itself).
