Is the camera as bad as that one review video posted her showed?
Is it possible to map the fingerprint sensor as a button for things like page turns in ebook readers etc..?
Thank you! Finally some photos of Mi Mix with nova launcher!
No accidentally touches even without case. The black borders around the screen, while not thick, isn’t thin either. Plus the screen has no curve so none of that accidentally palm touches that I always have with the s7 edge happens here. What makes it a bit hard to handle with one hand is its squaredness, not because it’s bezel less. I wish this phone would have a 5.9 inch screen instead. It’s slightly too large for me to use one handed confidently.
Looks great, Im interested on how the speaker is? Since it will be great for media vids? Also how is the camera on first impresions?
Still happens…
Where did you buy this from?
> Radioraheem2
I would like to know where to get this phone, and want to know where you got it. Did you buy it online or in a store in China.
>Do you know if its using Gorilla glass?
It’s not.
Would you recommend it?
What about accidental touches of your weenis?
So how do you get it? Resellers on the streets?
How did you get it? Directly from Mi Home store in Beijing? I try to get it over various ways: From chinese friends, and from the first online sale from mi.com directly (with a chinese shipping address). Since it was sold out after 10 seconds, I had no chance to grab one.
i’m in media. xiaomi sent me one
Does the case protect the screen at all?
I can haz that wallpaper?
Darn that looks sexy
Candy con
DUDE its a 6.44 inch screen, why only 4 icons per row???? Make it 6 or 7?
DO ANDROID AMA PLZ
if you’re talking about loud speaker, it’s at the bottom and they sound ok. nothing amazing, about on par with other xiaomi phones. if you’re referring to the earpiece when talking on the phone, the sound is surprisingly clear, but max volume isnt as loud as it is on other phones. but definitely usable and not a hindrance when talking on the phone.
You should create an AMA in r/android!
Where’d you get it from? Physical location or online?
have nova launcher over MIUI. still have mIUI’s features, just don’t like square icons and no app drawer
But it’s a bit heavier and thicker than I expected. The back is too shiny and slippery, but the leather case that comes with the phone is excellent
go to en.miui.com and look for the [developer rom](http://en.miui.com/download-317.html), this has root. then apply for [unlocking](http://en.miui.com/unlock/) your bootloader. after that you can easily install anything you want, including google play services and uninstalling the chinese apps. but if that’s too much for you. I’ll buy the phone from you second hand for the original price. 🙂 (seriously)
Ive seen stuff on the screen cracking very easy due to little protection, Do you know if its using Gorilla glass?
That is absolutely gorgeous.
Not using a MIUI ROM I guess.
In this context that’s what you can assume
Was just guessing🙄
Here’s the leather case. I usually don’t use a case on my phones because I think 99% of the time the phone look better naked. But not the MI mix. I think the leather case looks better than the shiny back. The back is so shiny it’s almost like a mirror. I wish they made it matte.
How do you find it’s battery at first cycle
How is the camera
thanks for the tip, but i wasn’t exactly complaining about hte china rom, i was saying that even without root and slapping on a developer rom, the phone can be made pretty clean.
From the videos and pictures I’ve seen of the Mix, the side edges are not that much thinner than the side bezels on the Mi Max. One thing Xiaomi did really well with MIUI is reduce the amount of accidental edge presses. My old phone was a nightmare when it came to inadvertent edge presses when holding the phone, and it had much bigger side bezels. On the Max, it’s not an issue at all, so I’d expect the same for the Mix.
I’ve only been using for half a day, but so far, I like it a lot and I think it’s worth it just for the new tech. Also I was able to uninstall or disable most of the built-in Chinese apps (without root) so although this is the China rom, I think it’s “salvageable”. I also slapped a Nova launcher on it and I think it runs pretty clean.
That is one good-looking phone, all black and with the dark theme.
Sorry, main pic had a case on, makes the phone look bulkier. Here is a pic of it naked. Consuming full screen media on this is surreal. http://imgur.com/a/VV2VW
Wow. How do you feel holding it without case, apart from slippery back? Easy to avoid accidental touches on screen?
> media
Media ?
what do you mean, i am a graphic designer and de graphic work on UI and phones.
Are you like a reporter/reviewer or ?
How’s the unlock procedure?
A bit late on the party but, can you take a picture when gaming and watching videos?
Xiaomi says the resolution is 17:9 so I’m kinda worried there will be a slight black bar below.
And if you could just check on the settings if the onscreen button can permanently be seen even when playing, watching, etc. Thank you!
so the facing camera is at the bottom of the device ?
Based on his username he works for a radio station
Radio Raheem is a character from a Spike Lee movie lol
Hi. Where did you buy it from if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks!
Agreed
Yes.
I would like to know how the “piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system” sounds while calling, when compared to regular speakers
Yeah, I liked it too. I was using an original chinese ROM for a few months, then switched to the Chinese Developer rom, because of root. I like the apps. Especially the pirated appstore and the unrestricted themes store (international ROM doesn’t list paid themes, while chinese ROM does).
Will you switch back to your previous phone and did this only as required by your job?
