Hey all, it’s been two days with my brand new 15U. I came from Samsung S24U and loving the aesthetics of the UI along with the great photos coming through the lenses. However, let’s cut to the actual stuff- my device came with some bloatware (a random wallpaper app similar to “glance”, usual facebook, google and microsoft stuffs etc). I quickly removed a lot of those using adb. The experience is even nicer now. But the OS update is stuck with 2.0.2.0 VOAINXM with outdated January security patch. I have read that the EU rom is much better. So I have some questions –
1. What are the benefits with EU rom? Is it stock or customised? What are plus and what are minuses with EU rom?
2. Do I have to unlock bootloader to flash EU rom? Does it support OTA updates or do I have to flash EU updates manually?
3. The golden question – can I somehow enable gestures through adb or some trick with third party launchers? Is the gesture feature gatekeeping present in EU rom also?

yes they released 14 civi with mi dialer because they targeted indian audience where majority want mi dialer
install Lawnchair launcher. trust me it’s so much better

Understood. I actually have not much problem with the stock launcher except the fact that I can’t set icon packs. Yes there are icons in “themes” but play store has much better ones.
Okay that sounds nice. Hopefully pretty soon, because it’s mid April and the phone is still stuck with January security patch.

Nope. Not in India. People here are obsessed with Samsung and iphones.
I got it after thinking a lot and will most probably keep it for 4-5 years, then if I’m alive and the phone isn’t dead, will decide whether to buy a new phone or use it for some more months/an year. My main use case is the camera and also love the 16g ram+ sd elite for future proofing with hungrier Android versions.
