Excellent 🙂
when are phones going to add a dedicated skip ad button already
Where are the ads in miui? I only see a couple on the Poco launcher but that’s it
Don’t care. Those shit apps got to go.
It’s called using the custom DNS setting in Android.
Adguard DNS maybe the thing you’re looking for.
no need to worry or really care for those of us who use the eea roms – they’re already ad-free from the start!!!
doesn’t work for youtube

good news everyone… (in the voice of the professor)
but i turned off all adds on my note 7 already, sure it took to navigate a bit in the settings of each app but i havent seen an ad since. there was a guide online of what to do exactly.
Brah
Luckily you can pay for ad free YouTube
Good news would be if Xiaomi had an opt out switch for miui
It’s called xiaomi.eu or custom ROMs
DNS66
In China stable yes. There are more ads, some of which are not as easy to turn off. However, xiaomi is one if to the few Chinese handset makers that offer bl unlock.
hope it will be available soon for all xiaomi phone
Much needed
I’m from Mexico, I’m using a Mi 9T with the lastest software and I’ve never seen an ad.
I’m curious too. I have a mi9t pro and I have never seen an ad either… I’m in Greece.
Finally! I can opt-out to ads I don’t even see yet.
Ah yes, pay YouTube. As if they don’t get enough money from ads and selling data.
Ill add to here: miui hides this setting BUT you can still access it with nova launcher for example (dont need to use the launcher)
You can add a nova Launcher widget on the home screen called “activities” which can connect to a setting by just pressing that icon (here DNS settings)
You have to Connect it to something like this:
com.android.settings.Settings$NetworkDashboardActivity
The funny thing is i think they dont 😀
what ads? only ads i see is when i browse the web or watch videos online
testing? is it that hard to shut them down?
You can also just search for the setting within the settings app, it reveals all the stuff Miui tries to hide from you, but you have to specifically know what you’re searching for.
Yup. Pretty much every app has it’s own individual setting for “recommended” stuff. So you have to change it in every app rather than a single setting that applies to all apps.
Haven’t seen any on my Mi9. Partly because I’m in Europe, mainly because I don’t use single built-in app, as I don’t want to use that spyware crap.
Really? 3 years ago they still didnt make money and then there is the adpocalypse and this year they lost billions because they have to fight against conspiracy videos ( which brought them a hell of an income)
Couldnt find the youtube income googling, peehaps someone can send me data
It says MIUI adds, not application apps. So they are testing to shut down their own adds.
The activity is com.android.settings.Settings$NetworkDashboardActivity the activity is called “More” when you access it through nova activity widget the icon is a greyed out wifi icon. If you cant be bothered with that method you can install “miui hidden settings” i dont get ads served up in miui apps and never have. My private dns is set to automatic with the dns server name blank thats how my phone came, mi mix 2s global rom 10.35.0
I couldn’t find it through that method. Need to use nova widget or miui hidden settings app
Its weird, im in eu, never had any ads
Or a miui ads service toggle that is in the background for a long time now.
Curious thing. YouTube doesn’t disclose its financial statements, statements of profit & loss.

Lol i wonder why 😀
Last i knew is from 2016, where they still didnt make money
And after adpocalypse(s), all the nazi content, pewdiepie to some degree, logan paul suicide forest etc. And all the mainstream media bashing youtube
Interesting stuff. But apparently it should be around 20 billion? Which i still dont get how after all the debacles and losing money 2016
why can’t you get rid of it right away? doesnt Xiaomi support flashing ROMs?
I get ads every time I switch the HDMI input on my xiaomi smart TV in China.
bruah
Not in europe
I honestly would if I could. But premium isn’t in my region. I don’t ad block YouTube but the recent increase in annoying ads have been pushing me to reconsider.
I was flashing miui onto my phones before they made handsets 🙂 I love themes.
Those are the apps I’m referring to. The dialer/contacts app has and ads setting. The Mi weather app has its own ads setting. The compass app has its own ads setting. I have a Mi 9. I know how many apps I had to turn that setting off for 😁
I must be the only one which never sees the ads…
Honestly I don’t have a Xiaomi so I don’t know if it’s a real problem or not ahah 😛
Youtube Vanced.
This.
You avoid third party services running all the time, you let the sistem filter for you.
depends on your region
