Yesterday, my mom and I had to go somewhere on short notice. We were in a hurry to pack everything up. But one of the things we forget was her iPhone charger.
Eventually, she ran out of juice on her iPhone. Since she could be getting important phone calls. I decided to lend her my Mi Mix 2S. But, I’m not going to factory reset it since she’s only using it for a day.
Then my mind hatched an idea to use second space. I set her Google account (so her contacts will be available), pop her her SIM into the Mix 2S, and she was set.
Personally, I had no use for second space, but for things like this. It’s handy.
Mah man
He will have your contacts and all of your files such as pictures, videos etc.
I will make it legal
My girlfriend broke her phone a year ago and I just popped her sim into my Mi Mix 2 and we shared a phone for a month while we waited for her replacement screen to come from China. Worked really well, we each had our own phone essentially. Never used second space though, I used the android accounts feature that’s on every android.
Yes its a very Handy that most of the people don’t care about but its very usefull in times..
Does MIUI not have the concept of Users from stock Android? On my Honor 10 I can add a new user, and they can basically set up every app as their own. I can also add a guest, which basically means the info stays until the phone is rebooted or the guest logs out.
The only things that seem to be shared between the main user’s profile and the second user’s profile seem to be the call logs and text messages. WhatsApp and Google account, for example, aren’t shared.
I got a second phone for that after a disaster.
No. I double checked here and, as I said, there is no access to any of that.
Only thing he can see is the call history, but just numbers, no contact info.
Internal storage (/sdcard) is completely separate from the main user too.
It’s more like a system in a system. It opens apps as a new one. You can set up two different whatsapps with each one of them with different sim while both are active!
That’s a pretty awesome use! I have the mix 2s and I’m thinking if setting up second space for business use.
\*\*you’re
I normally only use the second space for…uhhh…research purposes.
Is it for very… intensive research?
On my second space I only have my Games(mobile legends, pubg etc.) installed. In doing so, I don’t get notifications while playing.
Is a second space the equivalent of adding a user? You can do that with Android from 6.0 onwards I believe. I did that on a Nexus 5x I had from work so that I had two accounts, one for work and one personal.
No I set each sim to be dedicated to one account, so on her account she got her calls and texts and on my account I got mine. When making calls we just had to choose which sim we were making the call from.
Then you can stay logged in
I loved my Nexus 5x and I loved my Nexus one even before that
“Hey, nice phone, can I take a look?”
“Yep, no probs”
*Hands phone over without the need for sweaty palms or “don’t look at that” moments.*
If your workplace supports [Android Enterprise](https://www.android.com/intl/en_in/enterprise/), you can use Android For Work. I’ve been using it on my Mi A1 for ages now. Almost ever since I got it I think.
How do you use a second space?
Cool. I noticed that my versio of EMUI also has “Private Space” in addition to the Users feature, which sounds similar to this. I can have a different, sort-of hidden profile which can be easily destroyed.
That’d be thot protection.
You can just download another browser then hide it and lock it.
Second space is kinda like 2 user accounts on a PC.
You have 2 separate homescreens both with their own apps, logins and personal data etc.
Could also come in handy if you use your phone for work and private.
So you’ll have your own space with SIM1 and all apps for personal use.
And when at work you switch to second space on SIM2, and have stuff like Skype for business and Outlook and such.
You can just download another browser then hide it and lock it.
Then check out one handed mode as well
Your not wrong
Thot protection
Only for testing all MIUI features
Hol up
~~Honest answer: it’s so joke so git whooooshed~~
Nah I’d rather preserve all of that screen real estate
Can confirm, my girlfriend didn’t notice me having a wife yet
I set it up in case my phone gets stolen and I’m threated to give my password.
I can then give the second space password. The phone will unlock, but he won’t have any of my data.
Edit: Downvoted? WTF?
Second space is MIUI’s version of the Users feature.
I think the second space feature has been in MIUI before android introduced multiple users, which is why it’s still there and slightly different.
Had to lend my RN3 to someone at work so he could check an app. Didn’t want him to go through my stuff obviously and then I first tried – second space. It was great.
MY MAN forsenCD
Where your (first space) contacts and sms messages displayed in second space?
I wanted to use second space in the past, but all contacts (only numbers), call history and sms messages from first space were displayed in second space.
Thanks.
