Try Settings>Notch and Status Bar>Adjust Notch shape
In developer settings, go to device cutout, and select default cut out, or what ever works.

The mi9t has a pop camera..while the mi9 has a teardrop camera…so now his display just has a black hole on the top without a camera in it..
