Amazon is the worst place to order phones. Some of those phones are in China

Because of all the Trump insanity if you order a Xiaomi phone on eBay you need to find a US Seller which eliminates 95% of the listings on eBay. With Amazon you’re paying for convenience because the major models are shipped from Amazon’s warehouse, arrive in 1 or 2 days, and are super easy to return if there’s a problem.

Until Xiaomi decides to actually enter the US market we’re going to be stuck paying higher prices and not get to take advantage of the various promotions Xiaomi offers. It used to be worth it to save money, order from AliExpress or eBay and wait 3 or 4 weeks for shipping from China but now everything is too much of a mess to take the chance. Trump changes his tariffs from morning to morning depending on his mood. The tariff could be 20% when you place the order and 200% by the time the package enters the country.

Given the current situation the stability of ordering from Amazon and getting your phone the next day or the day after is worth the extra money.

There wouldn’t be tariffs on personal shipments, such as 1 package coming from wonda mobile. Tariffs would be for large companies bringing in huge freight shipments from China, think how many phones Apple brings over from China. Even so, there are no tariffs on electronics anyways.

Meh. You can buy from China for 500-550$, but it’s the same you will get from ebay: no warranty

Understood. For some reason I thought that it was just for certain OEMs such as Apple and American P.C. companies like Dell, Hewlett Packard etc.

But perhaps it goes for **all of them**

It’s not just that, most people have to go through USA, I from Uruguay and to order the 15 ultra I have to go to Amazon UK and then send it to Miami then to Uruguay, it was like 1800 usd if I wanted the xiaomi… While the S25 ultra is 1099 and 40 for the plane from USA to Uruguay

15 ultra is not even in Amazon US

I pre ordered it and got it for like $700 from the xiaomi india website

A lot of Xiaomi phones on Amazon are shipped from the Amazon warehouse and arrive the next day. You can tell whether an item is being shipped by Amazon or a third-party seller in the listing before placing an order. You can also usually tell if an item is being shipped from China by the estimated delivery date–items shipped from China typically have delivery dates three weeks or more after placing the order.

Amazon’s prices are high but since Xiaomi doesn’t officially sell phones in the United States there are a limited number of places to order from that are located in the United States which is more of an issue now with the Trump tariffs.

If you do a search on eBay for Xiaomi phones and then filter the seller location to United States that eliminates 95% of the listings.

Walmart also carries some Xiaomi phones on their website but has a much smaller selection than Amazon and their prices aren’t any better.

Those devices are probably here already in US.

Tariffs apparently don’t apply for tech products.
