Does anyone know a video where someone test the durability of Xiaomi 15 ultra? Just interested to see the screen and camera how they hold up 😅

Great. I have it for a couple of months now and yeah serves its purpose. No issue with cases that I have.
That’s great advice! I’m using it for a few weeks already and can confirm it’s very good.
Get a good case! I have a nice case and I’ve dropped my phone plenty of times without incurring damage.
“Scratches at level 6, with deeper grooves at level 7”
Phone durability tests are ultra stupid; it’s a phone and they are all fragile! That’s all that you need to know.
Jesus.. I might get one also 😅
Yes I saw the YouTube of Josh vergara and his unit had a number scratches on the camera glass. Looks bad. So I am using a metal lens protector that has cut out for camera so there is no impact on photo quality.
The duribilty of the Xiaomi shield glass is terrible, also the glass protector the back glass is very weak as well. My 14 Ultra’s screen cracked from less than 3 foot drop from my bed to the floor. Please invest in a good case and a screen protector.
I totally agree… It’s ugly.. but I’m kinda scared 😅 maybe after some time I will get more comfortable and maybe change case 😅
Oh that’s cool, and great to know 😅 so that means it’s quite durable 😃 you are a brave man
Have had the phone since day one of release and have mostly used it without case. Only when I am going for a long photo tour in mind I use the photographic kit. Otherwise it’s been naked.
I have dropped it a couple of times. Inside the house and outside in the tarmac. I have not got any scratches or damages. There are a lot of micro scratches on the screen protector but I can always change it
That case just doesn’t do it for me. Looks hideous and I’d get so sick or unflapping the camera every time I want to take a photo 🤣
Oh damn… Kinda sucks that they back came is not scratch protected cause I feel that’s more important 😅… But thanks for the info! Glad that I bought the one with a hatch 😂
I got the black version for the phone, and also the black case, it looks so sleek!
Omg..I’m so glad to hear that 😂 did you get the chrome one Xiaomi and the somewhat translucent cover? 😃
I’ve searched high and low and there’s nothing out there…
I contacted Xiaomi about their shield glass and they eventually came back with some information about the hardness.
I don’t quite believe their response as they were just assuming that their shield glass 2 was no worse than their first iteration…but personally I’d assume that they’ve actually decreased the hardness to improve drop resistance.
Personally I value scratch protection (hardness) over drop protection but that’s just me, I don’t drop my phones often and they’re always in a case…
This is the reply I got.
In regards to your enquiry, The Vickers hardness level of Xiaomi Shield Glass 1.0 is 860 HV0.025. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra adopts the 2.0 version. Although there’s no official information about the 2.0 version, the hardness level will not decrease.
Even Xiaomi don’t have the specs for the latest glass and they designed it lol
As for the camera lense that’s easier, it’s Gorilla glass 7i and it’s not great. Scratch protection is poor (which I think would be a critical requirement for a camera lens, especially one so exposed to the daily elements) it is mainly used on mid range phones displays. It has various coatungs to help with image quality and to reduce glare etc. but I wouldn’t trust it to stay in good shape without some form of protection.
I use a case with a hard cover for the camera lense, it’s a small pain to keep opening it up everytme you want to take a pic but it becomes a natural action after a while. It also stops the lense getting fingerprint smudges when day to day handling the phone.
As for drop tests? I’d imagine that the curved edge of the display will be the weak spot as in other curved displays, make sure you have a case that protrudes slightly further than the edge.
I got the same case, dropped the phone 2 days after putting it on, not a single scratch!
Oh 😅 but I should be durable… It’s not like phones for 5-10 years ago that just cracked when dropped.. I bought this cover just to keep the back cam safe

I looked everywhere and couldn’t find anything except for Chinese videos making fun of it lol.
