Accessing the developer options is more of a responsibility instead of a privilege (it’s even buried deep in the settings just to be clear). Seriously people are given power in Android to modify things but it seems that they start to blame the system first instead of being responsible for their decisions. Not knowing something doesn’t exclude you from consequences of your action.
… in MIUI, I have been doing this on my phone (Redmi 5 Plus with stock rom) and no issues
Oof
i just did and now I am here finding a solution : (
Damn. I am currently on 705dp on my X3 Pro. I tried up to 899dp at which point there weren’t enough pixels for the text. But I had no issues.
I use my mi 9t with 480dp, no problem
Seems like it but just for that phone, I think they vary from phone to phone
Wow havent seen it lmao, i have been following the sourceforge dir and didnt see the actual download.havoc-os.com download thing. Thanks!
How? I find that miui bearly runs let alone do gaming. Custom ROMs are wayy better.
i toggled off miui optimization and since then icons turned bigger and some apps crashes
I once changed a setting where it changes the size of the screen (in a way) it was 600, I changed it to 4000 as a joke then I had to factory reset my phone because the screen was black and wouldn’t boot or anything 😂
black 😀
How to know the default dpi? I changed mine and forgot how much the default was. (Mi 10T)
Same, now i have usb debugging on thankfully it happened a bit after i got the phone and nothing important was deleted
shouldn’t be able to set something that will break it that much. They should have tested or something, or at least disable developer options if Android System crashes too many times
So is 600 the standard one?
There is no problem until you got into one.
… and everything was black.
They should implement a thing like in windows when you change video settings, you have to press confirm and you don’t the settings go back to original
Thanks ur sacrifice will not be in vain
Even with USB debugging, you would have to have a trusted device, and be able to set that before Android System crashes.
4.5 got released officially, Addy went official.
What rom is it? I got the same phone, currently running corvus 10.5 with sleepy r9
Thank you for sharing this!
i once messed up with that dpi my phone started blinking like disco lights..i restarted the phone and everything was back.
Can I please know what happens if I mess with that option?
Fucking with dev mode without a backup, real smart
It crashes “Android System” anyway, so that might not work.
did they fix it in 12?
I said I’m using a stock rom, as in rom without the overlay. Like LineageOS. MiUi runs like shit on my phone, flashing a rom makes my phone live again
I always set dpi to 420 and it never caused an issue for me. I’ve done this on multiple xiaomi phones by now.
What’s DPI in the first place?
Happened to me once. It was fun and set my width to my preference.
they broke it in miui 11 apparently
yes everything was back fine..i was using xiaomi EU
Just re-apply any of the display size options. That’s all they do.
Unofficial Havoc OS 4.1, which is Android 11. Runs pretty well
There is a reason it’s called developer mode.
