The new wallpapers are hella good but it’s still full of bugs and the dark mode is unusable.
if you really want it just the update manually. I recommand xiaomi.eu’s ROM they have miui 12 beta for months

I left my redmi note 3 pro plugged in overnight for over 4 years and the battery is still great. The phone should protect against overcharging if it didn’t then there was a defect somewhere.

Uh no, your phone is smart enough to not charge itself when it’s already full. You don’t have to worry about that.
What does it matter?
Phones battery should be kept roughly between 30% and 80% (from what I remember). It had something to do with higher voltages out of this 30-80% zone that are bad for the battery. So keeping it at 100% and charging makes it get hot and shortens the battery life overall.
It won’t necessarily make it hot, but you’re correct in saying it should be kept under 80%. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t make *that* much of a difference for it to be at 100% though, and it’s quite the hassle to have to constantly manage battery percentage (would be nice to have the option to stop charging beyond 80% to not have to do it ourselves).
Yea, you’re right, nobody has time to constantly check the battery. That’s why it’s been really well optimized nowadays so it doesn’t make a big difference.
You can test it by letting it charge, charger will be hot. Once 100% the charger is cold.

No it doesn’t, the charging circuit is disabled when battery reaches 100% and the phone uses power from the socket to operate instead of the battery. What you refer to is now a thing of the past, nowadays pretty much everything works this way to save battery from unnecessary cycles.

The pill bar doesn’t even show up unless you use the stock launcher, you can hide it though.

It’s usually the phone stopping the charge and not the charger, that probably won’t kill the phone. But what can kill the phone/battery is if the charger supplies wrong voltage to the device.
Yeah it is disabled when full, but it shouldn’t be even kept full or (theoretically) allowed to charge to full and that is what shortens the battery life.
The problem isn’t overcharging. Battery’s don’t like being fully charged to 100% all the time. The battery degrades faster, if you left it charged at 100%.
It’s probably enough to change region in the settings.

You can uninstall most of the “bloatware”. Bloatware isn’t uncommon in these modern days. Windows 10 also has a lot Bloatware like candy crush pre-installed, but most people just don’t care.

I don’t know where you are from or your budget for the New phone, but you might want to choose Mi 9T Pro or Mi 9 instead. Better phones, flagships with AMOLED screen and more features that the Redmi line doesn’t get. I wanted to buy the Mi 9 but I didn’t have the money to pay the difference back then, so I got the Note 8 Pro 128gb instead.

Right. should note that the brick plugged into the wall isn’t actually a charger. it’s an adapter/limiter. changes 240/120 v to 5v. that’s all really. the phone has a charger built into it that decides when and how to charge your battery.

Took a long Time and still I had to activate “Receive updates before others” to actually be able to get it.
Not updating till next patch, too many users complaining about anomalies that should have been sorted out prior to releasing the update.
