Cannot access files on my Mi 9T Pro with a broken display

I dropped my Mi 9T Pro and broke the dispaly. I have changed the display before and I don’t want to spend that amout again so I’m trying to transfer all the photos I have on the phone to my PC, however when I plug in the USB the PC recognizes the phone as a device but I cannot access the files. Is there a way to get my data without going to a repair shop?
