Contrary to what most have been saying, my Mi 9T’s battery life actually improved after the update. On a full day of use, I used to fully charge my phone in the middle of the day for it to last till I go to bed at 11 or so. But now, a full charge can last me a full day of use. So far no issues concern me other than me not being used to the app icons being larger. But other than that, everything seems smooth.
Maybe its a regional problem. I am from the Philippines who bought the phone the day it was released. To those who have the MI 9T who hasnt made the jump yet to MIUI 11, please do tell me if there are concerns you have you would like me to watch out for.
I have a mi9T also. Battery definitely improved on miui 11. I have european version.
Same thing here. Battery actually improved. Fingerprint scanner too.
Must be nice.
Still waiting for the update for my Mi 9T Pro.

YoU hAvE ANdrOid 10 thO?
yup. i have a redmi note 7 and after 6 hours of school and using my phone every break and during lectures plus having mobile data on at all times due to bad habit, my phone’s battery when i get home has increased from around 40-30% to a whopping 60-50%. big ups to xiaomi
Yeah, the battery life on mine will get to the end of the day with 30-50% left
Are you using darkmode?
Im using darkmode and turned everything (even my keyboard) black.
My Mi9 is finally usable after MIUI11! For me positive update and better battery
After I got the MIUI 11 update on my Mi 9T Pro, I actually had worse battery life, Android System and Google Play Services drained my battery like crazy. Though to be fair, I deleted app cache for Google Play Services and installed the newest beta version of the app and it seems to have fixed the issue.
Absolutely, every app every theme everything in my phone is turned to dark mode
Yeah. I still passionately hate the in-screen scanner, but can’t deny that it is definitely better in 11. This is on a mi 9
Unfortunately cannot agree (yet..for my Mi9t), until I find a way to fix a bug with mediaserver kernel app which drains my battery at random and extremely quickly. The most upsetting thing: it’s a known bug, it’s possibly an old bug too, but still no fix for an application that possibly might only need a loop fix.
Its a translation problem, friend.
Take it as “That I charge my phone once a day” as opposed to now “I charge my phone at least once per two days”
Literally sorry for bad english lmao
Why do you hate in in-screen fingerprint scanner ?
Man I wish
Waiting on it
Yeah mine was only shit for like 2 days
Idk i play intensively on my 9T Pro and charge it 2-3 times per day as it’s under use for like 10 hours straight..
Edit: Granted i don’t let it drop down under 35% and charge it up to 80% so those three charges are like one 💯% cycle…
You can adjust the icon size by just download themes with smaller icon. There’s entire category of these small icon themes in the themes store.
So you’re only using 45%…
35-45% usually 2-3 times per day
Having same feeling as well.
I’m so aggravated I could shit myself, when the fuck is Redmi Note 7 gonna get the Global Stable Rom of MIUI11?!
I’m never using miui shit anymore
Back to oxygen os
It did. I’m regularly hitting 8,5h SoT with 25% battery still left on my Mi 9 Lite. Amazing.
We can’t take those who had the issue as a lie. Its not much of a chance, there are factors that we should account for that we can consider. The most general one that I can think of is the region/place where you are from. Thats why I included where im from.
Im kinda a minimalist when it comes to my phone. I dont like clutter. As much as possible I like it basic. So i dont download themes or app launchers.
Where are you from ?
I have note 7 pro, and I completely agree
you can download the theme manager, change the icon size, then uninstall it.
I dunno but I use it quite often and half day life. Not happy with that
I had that same problem before the MIUI 11 update. Drained battery from 100% at 9 am to 30% at noon. Just happened once. It went through a cycle where I had to power on with volume key.
Hasn’t happened since.
I think you should coin this as an unpopular opinion. 😂😂
It feels the same if not worse in Mi 6
But yesterday I can play spotify through aux on 1 hour commute with 8% charge left to 2% when I arrived, so that’s something
Back up all your media files fron the phone to oc an then delete them from your device. Also clear cache for all media and social media apps. I had this problem before on a Samsung device and it was a file from my sd card but I couldn’t pinpoint which one. That fixed it then.
Can confirm on mine too. Drain during standby definitely improved. Global version US region.
Its much faster if you disable the animation completely.
– change the animation to another one once
– download settings database editor from 4a from play store
– search for fod_animation_type
– edit value to 4
This is great! It’s faster now. Thank you
it works fast but it seems that it has disables my ambient display?
Thanks dude it’s a bit faster now on Mi 9T. Ambient Display is still working 👍🏻
It doesn’t work like that, so i just downloaded the xiaomi.eu rom to get miui 11
And its so much better than the global rom
Yeah, precisely this. It’s not as fast, not as accurate and the placement doesn’t feel as comfortable as the back or side scanners
Thanks for your reply, but I have already done both. The phone works well for a couple days, then suddendly with no apparent reason, the battery is drained. The Gsam battery monitor app (with extra statistics enabled via ADB without rooting) helped me to pinpoint the culprit, which seems to be mediaserver.
As my phone has a number of company application installed, I really don’t want to factory reset it and reinstall everything. As I cannot root the phone because of company policies, I cannot just kill the darn app.
What is really pissing me off is that a simple loop (which is the likely cause of such a battery drain) hasn’t been handled so far.
To be fair, the problem existed before Miui 11 (first experienced one week before Miui11) but it doesn’t fix that bug either.
To be honest I don’t think any amount of MIUI updates could fix that. Is more like an Android thing. The MediaServer scans all the available media files on your device (videos, music, photos, etc.) regardless of the brand or ui. If you can’t fix that obviously miui or one ui or emui or oxygenos, you name it won’t fix it.
Edit: by fixing that you’ll have to somehow identify the corrupted media file which is also possible to be found on some of the apps you have installed, even the job related ones.
I owned a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact with a faulty battery before my Mi 9T… it drained battery as fast as the 9T charges. It would die at whatever % it felt like. The 9T’s battery makes me feel like a god.
You can easily see if you are using quick charge or not with one lightning bolt for and two for fast next to battery. its a shame it looks like Schutzstaffel nazi insignia though.
Try turning on battery saver if it’s not on. On MIUI10 it was kinda broken, for me anyway. But it seems to be fixed on 11. I lose 3% overnight. Before on 10 it was around 6%.
You switched from Global to EU rom.
Can you describe in which ways it’s better the EU one?
Was it easy to change the version?
Thanks.
Does the cameras work at Oxygen OS on MI 9T /Pro ?
I have a better battery life, everything seems smoother
for detailed information check this website: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/9-11-7.53191/
MI Mix3 with MIUI 11 i get barely 4 hours of screen on time 🙁 i don’t know where is the problem.
Damn. How bad is it now compared to before ?
After miui11, i got two lightning bolts.
I had a Samsung galaxy prime before. Can you imagine using that in 2019 lol. Cant even load twitter properly
Honestly i have no idea. i bought it a few days ago .first it has a MIUI 10 and after 30 minutes of usage i updated the phone to MIUI 11. I searched few forums for a solution to my problem. I reset the phone. i delete data for google play services and gsm services. seems that none of this solve my problem 🙁
Going to be honest, I’d never heard of the Prime before. Looks a bit like my spare Note 2 but worse
Its a phone released in 2013-14ish. Very outdated.
Mi 9t pro, got over 9 hours of video, 17 h running time, with 15% battery remaining. Android 9, miui 10, nova launcher, global rom. I’ll try to let you know how it works after the update.
Did you find any solution?
None so far. The phone worked well for 3 days straight. All of the sudden, the same problem appears again. Notably, I did not add any media at all to my pc and delete a few incoming whatsapp pictures.
Hello, can you tell me which one of 11 versions this rom? is it 11, 9.11.7 EU?
can this rom be installed on Pocophone?
