Same with my Redmi 7a in the past 3 days!
Hi dear
After a big update like the MIUI 12 you should have formatted the device from the fast boot menu
Try to back up everything on your device, then restart the phone and press the power button + volume down button and choose formatting the phone.
Try to do this and it will be fine
Same here (Mi 9T on 12.0.2.0 EEA ROM)
A few days ago someone here mentioned that you can install Blokada and add the xiaomi block list in the app and that should help
same here
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/ia5svp/i_finally_solved_battery_drain_on_miui_11/
This should fix it. I wrote the “tutorial” how to install blokada and how to add the specific filter list. You dont need root for this.

Can anyone tell me when is miui 12 going to be available in Europe?
That’s just how it is displayed, I think. You don’t have to do anything and don’t obsess about it anymore.
I used to have my battery usage like that. After the MIUI 12 update Android system is not at the top anymore, but the most usage now is Other, at around 25% too. So the same damn thing lol.

Still the SOT is very good. So that’s just how it is displayed – there’s actually nothing draining your battery and it is running normally.
I use a vpn, I don’t respect my country’s decision to ban mi community.
It just makes no sense to ban mi community, it’s a harmless website.
In reality, india just wants to cripple Xiaomi and that hurts me as a true Xiaomi Fan
This fixed it for me on a Redmi Note 8 Pro.
not for me lmao my.usage is 41 % and it was 45 before the installation..
And here
RN8 Pro already livinh with 33% Android Usage since the beginning until now even on MIUI 12
Android sucks, get an Iphone.
I don’t think this is a viable solution honestly, and hope people would stop suggesting it.
It doesn’t even work most of the time. I format my data, clean install MIUI 12 and battery drain still occurs.
The blokada and adb command does the trick tho.
Maybe sounds like a crap solution, but for me, always that Android System is consuming a lot of battery, a reboot fixes it. 40 seconds at most
And here
I have experienced a battery drain after installing MIUI12
I was charging my Mi 9 twice a day, however I am not a heavy user and I don’t play games at all
This issue solved after formatting the device.
At least it works with me.
same device same issue, but i got miui 11
blokada didn’t fix it for me on the redmi note 8 pro, used a custom list and the xiaomi one
not fixed for me
same
doesn’t work
😉
hahahahaha this guy still thinks iphone is better
ah,k… (thanks, you can findmy profile picture in r/rgbroachgang, it’s an entire subreddit with peoples talking about this)
also, we call each other Brøthër
Would that be equal to removing the ads service through adb? Both approaches seem to disallow ads.
I have Energized Blu, Xiaomi Blocker, and the Goodbye Ads enabled. I saw a huge improvement after this.
That’s just common with any heavily (& poorly) modified Android versions.
How huge? I am on a Redmi Note 7 Global, MSA ads service deleted since day 1 and I am able to have it idle for up to 48 hours (with occasional message replies) and up to 12 hours of using the device to browse the web.
And here
Where did you get the rom or you got the update in settings, btw?
Ssshhh its Xiaomi spying on you
Weird hasn’t happened to me and I have the mi 9t pro, in which region are u guys maybe it has something to do
Fellow RN8 Pro user here. Same problem, no solution yet. Tried factory resetting, Using blokada with Jerryn70. Nothing’s worked so far.
My phone’s battery life improved significantly when I disabled Digital Wellbeing
Settings > Digital Wellbeing & parental controls > Turn off usage access
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/hscium/miui_12_battery_drain/
Well i try the same blokada and nothing did factory reset and the issue still persist
Also do not install the super wallpapers it also drains 🔋 i have the redmi note 8 pro
Also here
And here :’)
Sorry man, I was on MIUI11 when I typed in that reply.
Here’s how on MIUI12: [http://imgur.com/a/ORf45VL](http://imgur.com/a/ORf45VL)
Settings > Digital Wellbeing and parental controls > Dashboard > Change in Settings > (Usage Access page is shown) > Digital Wellbeing > Disable Permit Usage Access
I solved something similar in my Redmi Note 8 by uninstalling all the miui bloatware using the XiaomiADBFastbootTools
Have you installed it from the play store or you downloaded the apk? Because the app from the play store has less permissions and can’t block all the miui telemetry, but the apk from their page can.
apk from f droid
I had a similar problem but with standby battery drain. My phone stayed awake all the time. Battery use while screen on was around 7-8% per hour and during standby is around 1.5-2% per hour which is unacceptable. It was only solved by 12.0.3.0 update. Now it sleeps properly when locked.
Nothing wrong with that.
Welcome to the xiaomi family
Here too
thats normal on miui
I think it’s normal. Same devices, same os.
Super wallpaper ?
If system is the the highest battery usage, then you are on right track.
Bro I’m miui 11 (redmi note 8 pro) and it’s taking 40% of my battery
Imagine 10hrs SOT with a custom rom 🙁
Same here mi note 9s
Europe, 12.0.2, right now my battery is at 66%, 3h 6min active time, 14h 42 min standby. Android system is at 20.32% usage..
Use a firewall app and see if Xiaomi’s apps/processes try to connect a lot to the internet.
Use a firewall app to block connections.
Yeah! SoT decreasing day by day
System means your phone been turned on
My custom rom doesnt yield the godly 10hr screen on time that MIUI flexes.
Uk
I just uninstalled it
I’m getting 3-4 hours of sot due to this
Nice
