I know that y’all are freaked out about the 800/999 euros for the Mi 10/Mi 10 Pro but realise that Xiaomi’s done this before with the Mi Mix 3 5G- and tanked in sales, forced to take more than 50% off the original price. However, that phone still has no MIUI 11, nor Android 10, although it was one of the first in the Q beta. The **Mi Mix 3 5G** is a great bet right now at around **300 euros**, but to make prospective Mi 10 buyers feel secure buying it, Xiaomi needs to **set a good precedent and update the Mi Mix 3 5G to Android 10 and MIUI 11.**
Does anyone have an ETA for that update, actually?
aw can we please stop crying about headphone jack memememememe
oh it’s good it’s gone? I missed that. Thanks for the update. I already have TWS earphones, guess am gonna toss the cabled ones out. But it’s good they’re gone, right?
blocked your annoying ass
whatever, both phones suck
The K30 Pro was supposed to have it all but now they memory slot is gone so it can join all the other shitty phones
year after year it’s the same crap:
flagships, with missing 3.5mm jacks and memory slots
mid trier phones with 3.5mm jacks, memory slots, but with either no NFC or aptX HD
but yeah no, let’s roll out 5G and wireless charging because that’s somehow an improvement
I own a Mi9 and feel the price I paid for the 128 gig version is fair (380€) back in September.
A 1k€ Xiaomi phone? No thanks.
Well, I can’t say I disagree. I’d prefer to be able to get the mi 10 at 600euros than buy a s20+ for 1k
As far as I know the Mi 10 has neither SD card slot or headphone jack, and they both have aptx hd and the Oppo comes standard with 12Gb RAM, while the Mi 10 Pro at 999€ comes with only 8.
Just 1 simcard …. Ridiculous for a flagship.
Was planning to try Oppo but not without dual SIM option.
Mi10Pro is a NO go because of the petty 256GB max version for the Global.
Never ever will go back from 512GB on any phone.
So the Mi10Pro is a Fail for me no matter the price.
Agree on that, but honestly, i’d prefer a price drop than an almost impossible to discern screen res.
i love how everyone defends one wouldn’t need *this* feature or *that* feature. being packed with features u dont even need or want is literally the point for $1000 phone. they’re supposed to overkill.
no card slot, no 3.5mm jack, no aptX HD
that phone is unusable, and that at 1200€ lmao
What i mean is others are offering at that price, so why should you short yourself if you are paying premium anyway.
usb 3.1 agree (and dont forget mhl support!). quad HD at \~7″ at least for me, is useless (unless you are using it for VR).
The fuck you doing in a tech subreddit then. Gtfo
Also, usb 3.1, quad hd screens…
I’m very happy with my $900 original Mi Mix.
Oh, I thought you meant oppo by itself (not including the spinoffs)
I do most of my gaming on my PS4, and my laptop is ooooold as the hills. I do tons on my phone, though. Was hoping to upgrade my Note 5 Pro to a Note 8 Pro buuuut the price jumped about $40. May not sound like a lot to you but I have many mouths to feed in my house. 🙁
I think that most people that buys Xiaomi phones are because they are cheap compared with other phones, and they usually have top tier spects. But if i had to buy a phone with this price I would select a different brand. One with a better customer service.
X2 Pro or the upcoming OnePlus, which will most likely have the same specs as the X2 pro
People want big brand phones, why would anyone buy a Xiaomi for the same price as a Samsung?
If they want to compete directly with them, they will have to start implementing IP ratings on flagship models
any models worth mentioning?
Still, I feel like you could get a better laptop for 1000 euros for gaming and such. To each his own however 🙂
Ouch. we are starting to see those increases locally too in chile.Covid is fucking the economy hard.
I guess all stay with the mix 3 for some good months before even considering an upgrade
Maybe they are still keeping under the 5% cap for hardware profits, if they are investing heavily in software development improving MIUI and pushing regular Android updates. If the software improved and they push regular updates I don’t see why they couldn’t compete with Samsung, OnePlus and Huawei on high-end phones using the Mi range. I can see how some people would pay more in return for better software with less bloatware.
I believe you. I only know about the phones since i was interested in upgrading to a Note 8 Pro, but the price jumped about $40.
Screen has less quality than Samsung one, excellent is not what I would say a dependable judgement, as you can say that Mi 9 screen was also excellent… and regarding USB 3.1, Android now is betting on desktop mode, which is impossible to use without lag if you have USB 2.0.
I don’t know why did you make up the claim about the screen, but if you watch any independent review they will say it’s excellent. And never in my life did I need to transfer anything by USB on my phone
Better specs, same price
No USB 3.1 to begin with, subpar screen and no IP rating…
But it has 1000€ specs
it’s probably the 865 chip pricing
cause sales were a fiasco
everything has gone up in ali
For affordability, I’m looking at realme
JUst like you said, If im spending 1000 € on a phone, i’d look at oneplus or razer instead of xiaomi.
That’s, probably, why all Xiaomi prices have jumped $30-$50 on AliExpress.😒
I have to share, unfortunately.😉
That’s what a computer is for.
They’re expanding like crazy, but no one wants to buy a 1000 EUR Xiaomi phone. People barely wanted to buy their most expensive models as they were, let alone several hundred euro more expensive. Plus people have tons more to deal with in most of the world. Hell Amazon itself, the online platform people here are laundering for “surge in sales” is barely working in Central Europe right now.
This is most certainly a step into the wrong dicrection.
Was about to buy it, but the price is way to high! max 550-600 euro not 800!
Me too, I personally feel like this is the best possible time for a new TV, computer or phone! You’re going to be using it at least twice as much as usual
Still gonna stick to my Mi8. No thanks to that price.
I think xiaomi made it very clear that mi phones are not affordable. If you want affordable you can get a redmi.. Not all redmis are mediocre, there are very high end redmis like the new K30 Pro with snapdragon 865
That’s what Redmi is for now. The Mi range is aimed at a higher part of the market.
“muuuh updates waaaah, I don’t know what the fuck they are, what they add or improve but I neeeed them so badly!”
It’s. A higher. Version. Number. That’s it. They don’t fucking improve your usage in any way. You’re not getting any new features. It’s *literally* fucking nothing. You’re like fucking mindless zombies with this bullshit.
Oh, lol.
The last one lol, four months ago
Well, maybe you, but if I’m stuck at home with not much to do, I want a good smartphone I can while away hours web surfing and and game playing.
> this black friday
Wait when is the Black Friday? Looking to upgrade RN5P, and maybe I should hold on for a bit.
Ah definitely. I’d get a Samsung Note 10 over this even if it’s older.
I was about to put a nasty reply on how my mi mix 3 didn’t cost that much until I realize you were talking about the 5G version. Yeah I agree, that thing was way overpriced when it was launched.
They are pumping out too many models. I was going to purchase a mix3 5g this black friday if i was in the market for a phone, they were 250€ shipped
I have no idea, night pics aren’t great… But I’m really not ibto photos tbh. Want a fast and clean os ? You got it!
I was wondering about realme x2 but one thing is stopping me. Why the hell do they use the samsung censor. I am not going with the hype for the sony one but in reality sony censor is really really good much better than the Samsung one. Only this is stopping me from buying realme
Exactly, like qhy woyld I upgrade fron a realme x2 pro that i paid 380 euros for to a mi 10? A slighlty better camera and cpu? The x2 pro has the 855+ which is no joke either, and 90hz display.
By the time we have 5g in my country widely available it will be 2022
yeah at that price, you might as well get a Samsung. I would even get a Note 10 for cheap. That phone is incredible.
No one that buys xiaomi devices will want a phone with 1000€ from xiaomi
I speak for me … but probably many feel the same
Xiaomi needs to focus on what they do best, affordable devices with good price
1000€ is markets that xiaomi dont want… i repeat dont want!
I was thinking in getting a new one from xiaomi, but like this no way.
Time to start looking for new enterprises that are exploding with good and affordable devices.
Yeah there are rumors this year’s iPhone could be delayed as well.
When you are stuck at home in the middle of a pandemic, , you don’t really care about upgrading your smartphone
Well, always compare xiaomi phones with similar chipsets, then you will realize it is still the company we know and love.
No. I have problems with oled and my eyes.
Are you not considering Mi 9T Pro?
Ehm Ehm what about OPPO?
I think we can’t expect foldable phone to have durable screen in the next 10 + years. Glad that you like the mi 9t. I would really want xiaomi to release redmi k30 global. Its been to long waiting for this. I need a new phone and will wait a litte bit more to see if they are coming to European Market
Same,i have Mi 9T atm and really not a whole lot has been changing to want me to upgrade to a flagship, camera is still great for me,perfomance is great,i love the screen without the punchhole or a cutout, etc. They would have to come up with something bigger then just upgrading the cameras and higher refresh rate screens. When foldable phones become affordable that would be a huge step up
I wasn’t even exited for the mi 10 pro. I am waiting for something wich may not come at all in the global market (the redmi k30) i like a bang for buck type of phone. I think i would never give anything above 400£ for a phone, doesn’t matter what phone it is.
Online shopping yes, for essentials. People are scared for their livelihoods they’re not purchasing mobile phones they don’t NEED.
I hope they’re scaling back a lot more than that.
Only a few people bought it so Xiaomi didn’t bother to continue support.
Xiaomi is running its supply chain back to 80% and the most sales are happening online anyway. As Amazon sales surge, I could imagine that people do spend their money in online shopping pretty much nowadays
I have Android 10 on Mi mix 3 non 5g model. How come the 5g model didn’t get it?
Well the current pandemic will crush worldwide sales, it’s not just about shipping, nobody is buying anything.
No.
But how come works they have bad sales lately? I think it’s the other way around. Expanding like crazy for their share of market.
