Exactly like Apple then.
>it’s profit margin
*its profit margin
Is this true?
I’d rather they increase profit margin than showing ads everywhere in MIUI.
We just need that A2!
Good but it rarely Available on time. you look for every sale and did not get the product.
I want the big Redmi battery too. I think once Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 (what a ridiculous name) reviews come out, I’ll switch to that.
You can literally just turn them off, if you hadn’t already.
Except apple have much larger profit margins.
For some. I can’t turn off the one in themes for example. And an update to File Manager hide that option. I need to uninstall the update. Overall, it left bitter taste to me as Xiaomi long term user.
Bullshit. The profit margins on their [current phones](https://investorplace.com/2017/11/apple-inc-iphone-x-profit-margin-higher-than-iphone-8/) range from 59 to 65%.
Based Xiaomi.
If you are looking for a bloat free OS, don’t go to Asus
That particular Asus runs pretty much stock Android, for better or worse. So no, bloat will not be a problem.
Bullshit.
Is it an Android one phone?
No, just close to stock.
Edit: To the genius who downvote me, this is what literally Asus said.
Somehow I don’t believe their profit margin is only 5%. It is somewhat impossible to sell something at that kind of margin. They can offer big discounts on some phone around 20% on a device that only released for few months.
Hmm, top comment. Such a bad mistake, I see.
I’ve always found the “sports” mentality of rooting for companies odd.
With Hollywood- (or Starbucks- or Apple- or …) accounting, this is a meaningless promise.
How much will Xiaomi Hardware Inc have to pay Xiaomi Brands SA to license the Xiaomi name?
Yup
Xiaomi has repeatedly stated that their model is to offer devices at no profit and then make their money from digital services, skins, etc. via their online MIUI stores.
Yep. Using Global Stable. Bought from official Xiaomi website.
The problem is, I bought Redmi devices from my parents and sister, all of them are tech illiterate and in different country where I am.
You can’t expect an average user to unlock, flash TWRP, root and install ad-block.
A pity, because it used to be the brand I recommend to everyone I know.

Lots of places and you need to go to Settings for each of them to turn off the ads. Most of them can be turned off, except Themes (in my device).
Having options is nice, isn’t it? You can have your cake and eat it too. Go get a Nokia
You should install DNS66 for a rootless ad block. As for the rest, I’ve used MIUI global for some time before trying new ROMs, and I don’t remember it being full of ads. Sure, lots of bloat, but once I had set it up the way I want it (Nova launcher, Google chrome, Google calendar, solid explorer, Google phone, WhatsApp etc) leaving pretty much no stock apps aside from the camera, it was perfectly ok.
I’ve seen lots of tech illiterate people with xiaomi phones, and they were ok with them, no problems at all.
>and I don’t remember it being full of ads
Because it happens recently. Check this: http://en.miui.com/thread-1941612-1-1.html or just do Google search and you will see all kind of ads in MIUI built-in apps.
>I’ve seen lots of tech illiterate people with xiaomi phones, and they were ok with them, no problems at all.
I know. It’s just I can’t wholeheartedly recommend Xiaomi ads riddled product to everyone I know. Too many caveats.
You’re correct. It’s not part of the Android One program, it’s like a Motorola
