Dont’t get me wrong, I always loved my Xiaomi phones and I recommended it to countless people who are happily using Xiaomi phones now, but I am a bit frustrated…
I love the hardware, but I hate the software!
I am using Mi Note 10 lite and I loved it from the moment I unpacked it, just a gorgeus device. But let’s be honest: MIUI sucks! It feels good but looks terrible and barly any customizations possible.
Everyone I know except maybe my aunt uses some 3rd party launcher to have at least a decent experience with Xiaomi phones. But since MIUI 12, it is getting less and less accessible with 3rd party launchers and it feels broken, slow and buggy. And root + custom ROMs is not an option for me.
Do you think Xiaomi will further push MIUI on their users with comming updates? I always liked android because of the power of customization but Xiaomi seems to go against it.
Now I am thinking to switch! For example, OnePlus have affordable options as well (thinking of OP 8)
Anyone else have similar thoughts, or do you think Xiaomi will get their shit together?
Best regards!
The 3rd party launchers thing is because of the new policies in one of the iterations of Android 11 not just MIUI.
Well, gotta say, any phone without root is kinda unusable for me.🤷
So it is more an android problem in general and brands like OnePlus will run into similar problems I guess?
why does it looks terrible? it has a TON of custsomization options, more than samsungs one ui or something. This is a “you” problem
Yes even Color OS phones which still has Android 11. Google Pixel seems to have a workaround on it but hasn’t shared it to other OEMs.
I was also thinking about iPhone, but my problem with apple is that the phones are too expensive and the don’t look good in my opinion. With android there is a lot more variety and you can get exactly what you need.
Software-wise: If you get used to IOS it is simply a great experience I have to admit but I would still miss some features, so all in all I don’t see me switchin to apple as of now.
Of course it is a me problem (or Mi-Problme :P)
But the fact that i can only choose 5×6 grid, can’t change the icons, can’t adjust padding for better screen use and the clock widget takes 2×5 and uses half of the screen for no reason, are just enough things that even make the homescreen unusable already.
Do you use a custom ROM?
Yes, the xiaomi.eu beta.😅 I haven’t updated to a12/miui13 betas though, cuz a11/miui12 seem to be working rather well on my device.
My Mi Note 10 lite came with a10 and I usually never upgrade, but someday some of my apps started to have bugs and I thought it might fix it if I upgrade … terrible mistake! :/
Lol, can’t help much with that, there are just too many things that could go sideways.🤷 Plus, I’ve only used the stock rom for like ~7days.😆
Was looking at the Honor 50, but I guess without custom ROM it will have similar problems :/
Same thoughts actually so I opted to go custom roms. Now I love it! I spent less than $500 with my Poco F2 Pro which has a great hardware! Now I feel my money went to correct investments. I’ll be holding this phone until 2023/4 most likely.
Which ROM do you use?
I’m using TitanRom by Schnedi. I like his works! He really does a lot and updates regularly. Ever since last year, I was in DerpFest which was his creation as well.
MIUI annoyed me to the point i’ve been thinking to sell my redmi note 10 5g I got gifted in October and buy the Redmi note 10 pro so I can install a custom ROM
That fucker is glitchy as fuck. GOD. I can’t wait to update to MIUI 13. Heard it’s better.
Every Xiaomi phone i had before had xiaomi.eu (either preinstalled or flashed myself), i bought poco x3 pro and it has MIUI global. I need to wait whole week to unlock bootloader (which i think wasn’t necessary when i was unlocking my previous phone). Man, it sucks. I never understood people complaining about MIUI because most of these complains ( apart from ram management ) made no sense from mine pov. Now I’m stuck with MIUI global and this is buggy shit, mixing MIUI elements (which are good because they are ahead of regular android in terms of functionality) with plain android which is ugly (not because android itself, because Google’s Android and MIUI have different visual styles) and poco launcher is one of the most shitty launchers i used in a long time
I switched from Xiaomi a while back, got a Realme 6 and haven’t looked back, I have found the experience to be so much better than that of Xiaomi.
What’s the restrictions?
May I ask why not switch to a custom ROM?
I only rooted my devices back in the day where they weren’t as integral as today.
My concerns:
\- heard rumors that banking apps, official gov apps.. won’t work on rooted devices
\-Custom ROMs might be buggy as well, especially if the hardware is not compatible in some cases (camera, screen,..)
\-maybe some security issues (I don’t really know much about that stuff)
\-might seem minor, but for me also very time-consuming as I have to read into that stuff and work on it
and if you don’t like it in the end, you can’t go back!
Also, it is kinda frustrating because it was always so easy to just download Novalauncher and everything was in its right place, but maybe I should give it a try
switch to iphone man…. Just try it once…. They anyhow have the worlds best resale vale ! 😉
You don’t need to root if you don’t want to. Rooting has nothing to do with installing a custom ROM. Rooting is optional.
You can go back to your stock ROM whenever you wish. Just flash your stock MIUI ROM like you would with any custom ROM. You can also re-lock your bootloader and make your device exactly like it was before.
No bugs. This isn’t the bug world of MIUI. Lineage OS made my RN7 feel like a premium device. I honestly feel like I’m using a 1000$ phone and not a 150$ phone. The fluidity of the software and the stability is measured in light years compared to MIUI – And most importantly for me no unnecessary bloatware to slow down the device, and those apps like Security that have countless privacy invading permissions you can’t disable. The phone was also constantly sending data to Chinese servers – you can check that yourself with apps like Blokada. I used that before I had root access to block ads.
Tiny bit off apps and some banking apps won’t work due to Google hating their users having total control over their devices by detecting you have an unlocked bootloader, but there is an easy workaround with root solutions. I understand this part to be a problem for some just not wanting to bother with this.
Me personally, only had a problem with one app and it’s not even my banking app, it was some streaming app I used. But with the power of root Magisk Modules, you just fool the app by changing your device fingerprint.
No security issues. You get your monthly Android security updates every month. You also get the newer Android versions too – all of which is crucial for security. So you actually increase security just by having everything up to date. Many people switch to custom ROM just for that reason. They have devices that are 5+ years old but are running latest Android and Android security updates. Bear in mind that most phone manufacturers offer only 2 years of Android updates. Not sure about monthly security updates, that should be longer. What version of Android and what date of monthly Android security updates are you on?
You have the option to install Google services and Playstore and choose what package you want. If you don’t want 30 unnecessary google apps than just pick the package that’s least bloated.
You can also choose not to install any Google and be completely de-googled without Playstore and Google services. There are alternative Playstores where you can download apps of course.
Rooting your device opens a whole lot of options of customization and privacy. From apps that can use or only work with root access to root modules(Magisk Modules).
Root access is a great tool for apps because it makes them more powerful. You can block trackers, Internet ads, set automated tasks, hack coins in games and in app purchases, backup and restore apps+data, settings and even WiFi access points, etc etc.
Some cool Magisk Modules – XPrivacyLua. If I restrict audio, contacts, telephony data, clipboard access, etc etc for example for any app that means it can never use it no matter what are your permissions are set in Android settings.
There is also this cool module AccA that enables you to make your phone stop charging at any desired value even if its still plugged in. I have mine set at 80% and when the phone reaches that point it stops charging even if its plugged in. That’s pretty amazing. You can also play around with charging voltage, but I don’t dare.
There is also one audio enhancing module called Viper4Android. Many people root just to be able to use this. It does wonders for your headphones. You make your 40$ headphones sound like 200$. Not even kidding.
So as you can see there is a plethora of cool options you can do if you have full access to your device, like you’re really supposed to have, because you know, that’s your device. But Google doesn’t like that customization and tries to stop it like restricting some banking apps to work. But luckily in the Android world, there is a workaround for absolutely everything.
Just switched yesterday from my Xiaomi 11T 8/256 to an iPhone 12 due to this reason damn😅
How do you like it so far?
Wow, first of all, thanks for taking your time to write such an extensively detailed answer, I highly appreciate it.
I really didn’t know that rooting is not necessary and given all the points you listed, a custom ROM seems more then intriguing.
I have heard about Lineage OS, also Pixel exp, .. any other big players I should consider?
I will definitely read more into that topic. It really sounds like this could be my solution for all this. Thanks 🙂
No problem. It can sound complicated at first, but it’s not really that much when you take a closer look. There are detailed step by step guides for almost every device on XDA website and just follow those steps one by one. At the end it’s worth every hassle you think the process is.
I’ve head of Pixel Experience and Lineage OS being the main ones. Pixel Experience if you want a little bit more of software features and Lineage OS if you want a stock fluid working Android. That’s all I wanted after using MIUI if you know what I mean haha.
If you have any questions about Lineage OS, they have a subreddit too – r/LineageOS
Heard about Arrow OS too but don’t know what it’s like. Don’t know that many, I was using Lineage OS when it was called CyanogenMod many years ago, so I just chose that one thinking I can’t go wrong and I’m very happy with my experience.
I can recommend Resurrection Remix or HavocOS, currently rocking Havoc OS on my Mi 9T Pro and never going back to MIUI. for the Banking app if you want to use it and while keeping rooted, there is workaround for that and it is safe, I was rooted for years and having no issues using my local bank app.
go on then!! tell us!!
It’s quite simple actually. You just turn back time.
You can change the icons. There is a themes app on the xiaomi (at least on my mi 9t pro) and with it you can change quite a bit.
I would recommend Paranoid Android. It isn’t available for much devices, but if it’s available for your device, then you are very lucky. Because Paranoid is really a very good custom ROM, it’s at least three times better on battery and performance in my device.
I hate they broke the ADB permission granting. I used to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINS for some of my apps, but now I need an Xiaomi account.
eww
You’re using a very low-end phone and are expecting the OS to run as smooth as it does on an iPhone or an OnePlus 8 that’s higher priced
Maybe, you know, go for a higher-end phone instead of bitching low-end phones work like low-end phones.
sure, the Mi Note 10 Lite is no high end, but I would definitely not consider it low-end imo.
My problem is that is used to be great. One update ago it worked perfectly for my needs, but now they are dumbing it down. That’s why I don’t think it’s a question of price because I would have the same problems with the respective flagship device.
That’s like having a 10 year old pc and bitching Windows 11 doesn’t work on it.
The hardware inside cheap, low-end phones is not built to run every task that’s pushed through with updates
The majority of the consumers won’t give a shit at this price range, and, as such, there’s no point in wasting manpower on optimizing for it.
Try an 11t or 11t pro, even the normal Mi 11/12 and the pro versions and you’ll see the experience is VERY different.
Hey, Pixel Experience ROM user here.
When I first bought my Redmi Note 10 Pro I was pretty underwhelmed. MIUI was laggy, full of ads and adware, etc. It felt that while it was an excelent phone hardware wise MIUI was just awful.
Few weeks later I make the decision of unlocking my bootloader, a few worries like the ones you listed crossed my mind in the proccess, but let me tell you that once I flashed Pixel Experience I felt like 90% happier with my phone.
Banking apps and official apps work, even in rooted phones but as someone already told you, ROM flashing and rooting aren’t mutually necessary.
In my case, I love Pixel Experience, and there are bugs of course, but I’d say it’s like 100 times more stable than MIUI. I remember when I first installed it (PE 11), the only bug I noticed was the autobrightness going crazy because of the sensors. Now that Android 12 is out, I don’t really feel like I’ve had any bug or issue, but it depends on your phone. About the camera, you will have to get a GCam that suits your phone, but once you get it is as good or better than the MIUI camera.
Securitywise, I’d say the only known risk is the fact that your bootloader will be unlocked from now on and that if you ever get your phone stolen, it will be easier to access your data. It’s up to you and the situation of risk that you could be. Keep in mind that most phones are accessible throught different ways once stolen.
About the time consumption, It took me like one week for waiting my bootloader to be unlocked, but only 2 hours in the proccess itself. Find yourself a guide on youtube, xda or the custom ROM website. It’s pretty easy even if you don’t have previous knowledge on the matter.
And you can go back, always.
Yeah, you could install Nova Launcher, thats what I used to do. But having an AOSP ROM it’s a much more satisfying, snappy fast, visually pleasing experience.
I’d say it’s 10000% worth the effort.
EDIT: Sorry for the bad english!
Question: how do I relock the bootloader? It seems pretty complicated after I looked it up
YES. Had Xiaomi phones (Redmi Note 3 Pro, Poco F1) and all I can say is that MIUI is trash. Frequent updates are always welcome but most of the time, they always add features without fixing the current bugs the units have whether it’d be on the delayed notifs (yes tried turning on/off things like power optimization etc.), glitchy animations on home screen and many more. Community is very open but seems like all of the bug reports are useless since most likely, no one from the devs are even acknowledging those. That’s why, for both of my Xiaomi phones in the past, I flashed custom roms just to get the reliability I am expecting.
With that being said, I suggest you to look for a phone with top notch hardware and closer to stock android software. Check brands like Sony, Asus, Pixel (Google) and OnePlus (but slightly not recommending because of Color OS in the future).
I never done this so can’t comment but I do think you’ll need to be on stock ROM before or you’ll brick the device. From what I know you can’t have both locked bootloader and a custom ROM. Look it up on XDA forum I’m sure there’s a tutorial somewhere for Xiaomi devices. I found this comment here with a quick search, might help you – https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/fm5t8a/relock_bootloader/fl2gvx1?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
No doubt Xiaomi sucks, I am writing this comment from my Redmi 9 prime phone and I agree with you that hardware is great but the software is not, the most basic apps tend to steal your personal information like-
[Calculator](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553241943304437781/932325251008856104/IMG_20220116_225706.jpg)
[Cleaner](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553241943304437781/932326391331033128/IMG_20220116_230137.jpg)
etc
and the phone came loaded with bloatware which cant be deleted or disabled without a laptop and Fastboot tool. I am the type of guy who uses Linux, FOSS and cares a hell lot about my data and I was annoyed after seeing this many data-related issues with the phone. Otherwise, the phone is great, I got it for 135$ and this is my first phone, I have played heavy games on it for like 5 hours and more, Non-stop and faced no heating issue or battery issue.
What is GSI? I’ve never heard about it before.
I agree, Xiaomi needs to start to upgrade their software, they have very affordable phones but the constant bugs and laggy software make a terrible user experience. Hopefully the new update will change things for the better because they are losing a lot of their clients.
One question.
What about camera software.
I know Gcam works wonders, But then again I cannot see it fully using all mh camera capabilities.
How do you get a workaround on that?
Everyone is using Gcams pretty much.
I don’t know what you expect from MIUI. In my opinion it’s a good custom UI on top of Android. You could try the Xiaomi.eu ROM though.
Nah, op is correct. I have a Mi 9t pro, and I hate miui
Well does it use all cameras or just the main shooter?
I feel you, for the same reason recently I moved to OnePlus, next step for me is moving to Pixel, probably next year according to how their tensor chips improve.
Yes, you have the option of custom ROMs, that’s what I usually did a few years ago with my devices, but now I have less free time and some banking apps doesn’t like it, even if your device is not rooted you still have to have the bootloader unlocked, which some apps recognise it and doesn’t work properly or doesn’t have all the features. That, adding that sometimes I have to switch devices often, leaves custom ROMs out of the equation.
So in the end, Xiaomi devices are not for me anymore.
My device has only two cameras and I have normal and portrait options. Don’t know about other devices.
What’s your favorite root apps and modules you can’t live without?
Thanks, will look into it
My phone’s 2,3 years old, couldn’t make it worse 🙂
(I have stock miui 12.5.1)
Edit: and i’m not loving it
Ummm, I’d might go with:
Apps:
LSPosed (zgysk version, kinda necessary for other root apps)
Total commander (file manager)
Island (work profile)
Lucκy patcher🙃
OAndBackupX (backup apps/app data etc.)
GSam Battery monitor (it can also use adb instead)
AccA (also a module) very helpful to manage charging (I limit it to 85%)
Fox’s mmm (to check if the modules in the magisk repository are uptaded, since that function is removed from magisk app)
Notable mentions:
Customiuizer (extra customization of miui), termux (terminal emulator), smartpack (task manager of android), adaway (I ~just use it to block 2 adresses), smart flasher (to flash twrp zips without twrp) and xprivacylua to play with permissions (it may also help bypass root/unlocked bootloader detection)
Modules:
Well, ~all are necessary😅:
Busybox NDK (for almost everything), Acc (from acca), DJS (from acca), Lucκy Patcher module, Systemless hosts (for adaway), Universal Safetynet fix (v2.2.0), Zgysk LSPosed and 1Controller (to use game controllers, ~haven’t used it, but anyways😅)
If you want, I have a whole modding guide you can check:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/the-ultimate-guide-to-unlock-bootloader-use-twrp-flash-beta-from-stock-rom-setup-and-hide-magisk-edxposed-for-mi-10-umi-use-lp-plus-extra-tips.59306/
And btw, ~ONLY 1 banking app could detect root/unlocked bootloader, but I ~only installed it to check if indeed had issues, cuz someone else in xiaomi.eu ~asked if it works.😆
I dont understand why so much complain about soft i dont have any problems with miui some stuff i dislike here and there but thats it the experience is same as anything i use until now.I cant see any ads dunno i have the high end Xiaomi stuff (11t pro)
Completely agree. They launch do many models and versions that their software team have difficulties keeping up. They really should expand their software engineering team because that’s their bigger problem right now
Really would want to flash a custom ROM om my Mi9 but I almost bricked the phone twice and I have no idea how (yes I had bootloader unlocked). Mostly because there’s a lack of support for mi 9 and outdated guides.
I totally feel you.
> fucking Android 11+.
Agreed. Google fucked my FTP addon which no longer can access all folders (with root!).
Real mvp right here
I’m using the same phone… Updated to 12.5.5 and it’s WAY faster. Like, Super smooth, no crashes, etc. Have you tried that?
Yes, switch. Switched to the Pixel 6 Pro and I forgot how good phones can be without that fucking MIUI “oPtIMiZaTioN”
Why would you look at the brand instead of the product?
Whenever you’re buying your next phone just look at the entire market from scratch and buy whatever suits your needs better. Doesn’t have to be any specific brand. No offence but I think this kind of question shows a bigger problem in your reasoning. If you’re mind thinks “What’s the next xiaomi I should buy” instead of “What’s the next phone I should buy?” then you have problem.
Just go for a custom ROM. Pixel experience caught my eye because of it’s simplicity but even with that I still think I will remain on miui for a long while.
>- heard rumors that banking apps, official gov apps.. won’t work on rooted devices
Not all CR’s are like this. A few of them pass safety pass. I think Lineage does from experience.
>-Custom ROMs might be buggy as well, especially if the hardware is not compatible in some cases (camera, screen,..)
Long gone are the days of X feature not working. If the CR you’re using is **exactly** for your phone and especially if it’s an OFFICIAL build it’ll be 100% functional.
>-maybe some security issues (I don’t really know much about that stuff)
You stuck with MIUI for so long and you’re scared of “security” now? LMAO
>-might seem minor, but for me also very time-consuming as I have to read into that stuff and work on it
and if you don’t like it in the end, you can’t go back!
Actually you can. Jumping from ROM to ROM is pretty painless nowadays. I’ve continuously flashed from ROM to another because I wanted to find a ROM that hit 3 categories for my X3 PRO which is it fixes the ghost touch, provides the best performance, has great features.
>Also, it is kinda frustrating because it was always so easy to just download Novalauncher and everything was in its right place, but maybe I should give it a try
Now that’s definitely a Xiaomi issue cause they locked out 3rd party launchers but IMO that’s not really a big enough reason.
All in all, sounds like you’ve pretty much made up your mind anyway. Good luck in switching to another brand without shelling out top dollar though.
i am disappointed in android and every company that uses it because they just take options away from us, with custom ROMs not being a valid option (at least not for me). still not going to buy an iphone tho. i’ve heard that vivo has good customization on their phones, might check them out.
Actually pixel experience has the least amount of extra features bc it’s basically stock pixel rom
Really? My phone can update to the latest android 12 build for it but I’m still holding back bc it’s still in alpha. One bug that I’m aware of is with the high refresh rate
I’ve just started using custom rom for a few days and pretty much loving the software experience. It basically feels like using a new device. Though you want to keep in mind that some CR might impact your performance. My phone could score 640k on antutu and using CR drops it to 580k. But if you’re not a huge gamer then the software itself feels smooth
Depends on the phone. I don’t even know if it can on my phone but I don’t care. My main cam produces better macro photos than the macro camera so fuck it, I wasn’t using the macro cam to begin with.
Usually gcam is great and produces good main sensor photos, which are he most relevant. Most people don’t mluse or miss the extra fluff. That said, depending on the phone, if you really want that extra fluff, most is proprietary and you won’t find it on custom roms.
Well, if you are not going to flash a custom rom, then switch to another brand is a good option. Xiaomi is a good phone if only you consider to flash it to custom rom one day.
Head to XDA, find your phone model and read a bit. AOSP roms are usually popular, really clean roms. They’re really close to stock android and what most people prefer. Read a bit about what people say about them. Then pick one, go for it and draw your own conclusions.
I’m currently using arrowOS 12 on the Poco f3 and it’s pretty awesome.
If you have lineage os available officially, that’s a pretty huge name as well, as it’s *the* most famous custom ROM there is with pretty much as many years of experience as android itself.
I am writing after returning an s21 with android 12. Custom launcher was working perfectly fine there. It is Xiaomi who f***ed it up, Samsung rom/ui allows custom pauncher flawlessly.
It has its own issues, but also advantages.
Personally, I use a Mi9T as daily driver and I have a S8 at home for the evening whuch is a joy to use due to the screen and also alllows for Dex on big screen.
Miui was better and it has stuff it can fix.
One UI from Samsung allows custom launcher. It is Xiaomi’s choice to force user to be blocked with their stock launcher.
OneUi allows custom launcher and full screen gesture. It can be done if the companies want to.
Android 11 is the one with a lot of restrictions not Android 12. Google eased it up a little after getting a lot complaints. OneUI is a lot more customized than MIUI and most other OEMs. MIUI is closer to stock Android which now hurting them but people think it’s the other way around.
I can add up on this topic, I’m rocking a Poco X3 NFC and have been using ArrowOS (custom ROM) a couple weeks after the phone’s launch.
Speedy updates, stable system, banking apps and the like work perfectly because the rom is certified (thus no need to root to disguise it) and my favorite, forced constant 120hz display instead of MIUI’s crappy “adaptive” 120hz.
So yeah, take the plunge and get the best custom ROM for your phone, trust me, it’s worth it.
Every phone sucks nowadays tbh
Let me get you up to speed with the confusing landscape of
Android vs _Google Android_
and
1 click installers.
I have a Mi A2 (not lite!) running CalyxOS. I chose it specifically because I know it could be unlocked for flashing a custom rom.
Calyx has a 1 click installer. It was easy.
But it didn’t come with the GApps you need for the banksters. Instead, it runs MicroG, a reimplementation of GApps (Google Play Services).
GrapheneOS also has a 1 click installer and even has Sandboxed GApps for vastly improved security! Unfortunately, the banksters detect even this and also don’t support GrapheneOS’s kind and generous alternative security implementation.
Also, no Xiaomi phone is supported. Just Pixels.
LineageOS has a 1 click installer too…
But does it install GApps?? If it does, I recommend that route.
But then you also need to get past the crazy Xiaomi unlocking and navigating which phones are unlockable to load DECENT AND CONSISTENT, MANUFACTURER FIRMWARE onto is a pain in the neck.
So,
1) can anyone tell me which Xiaomi phones are consistently unlockable?
2) can the lineage installer automate getting gapps sorted too?
I’ve been feeling this lately. I’ve had the Mi 8 for a few years and all it’s made me realised is that their copy of iOS is nice and that I don’t get any software updates with my model.
Looking at getting an iPhone 13 this week and just sticking with iOS.
other uis are worse at this stuff especially apples
I love the 9t pro – no notch, pop up camera, used to be fast. Oh, except the 2 week unlocking period. What was that all about?! Then the update to 12.x and it slowed down a bit. Very few security updates. Having to set up full screen gestures with 3rd party launchers. And now the past few weeks the phone has slowed down a lot. Also, in -17o the phone will just turn itself off with 45% battery. I’m loving it a lot less.
Your device is MI 10 lite the roms you mentioned are good for mid ranged devices try using siberia, rog os(rog need miui ventor but overall performance is great)
No idea what the complainers are on about, i have a mi 10t pro and since 12.5 it’s close to perfect. Smooth, fast, 2 minor bugs that i know of (sometimes notification sound is cut short).
My previous OnePlus 7 pro was much much worse in the software.
Lol, bad argument, for example Realme 8 is low budget phone, but its Realme UI is just more fluid and smooth than MIUI on higher class Xiaomi phones
Realme phones starting to be more and more interesting devices with very good SW
I also have Mi Note 10 lite, the hardware’s fantastic but I’m also getting tired of the MIUI. For a better half of last year, it’s only been bugs and nothing else.
It feels like I paid for a beta testing program where I’m given the first launch of a software without testing to see how many bugs it has lol.
I’ll probably switch to Samsung in the future.
heyy am interested in roms, can you recommend some roms for my poco x3 pro? mainly i play games in my phone. I have no experience in roms but I glady take your advice:)
Well, AOSP based ROMs do support ANX Camera which is the next best replica of Xiaomi’s stock cam. Majority of the options viable in stock cam is a part of ANX. Actually better in some aspects like EIS and 4k60FPS support.
Tbf, I dont like Xiaomis camera software. But the hardware should still be used to the fullest after flashing a new rom
I’m currently preparing for lineage os
Lineage is great too. The fact that they’re still in business and loved by the population means it’s right on the money.
I wasn’t able to find better software than Gcam and ANX yet but will definitely update this thread if i happen to find one.
Cheers!
Precisely the reason why I sent my Xiaomi phone back, the software is downright horrible
I had a phone rooted and has Magisk hide the root status. Passed safety net.
However, some bank apps could still detect the root status and disable my access.
I need to buy another cheap Xiaomi phone just to use that mobile app.
I swear the software is getting worse! Im furious about it!
