Hi, I’m deciding between the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Besides the camera quality, it’s also important to me how well the AI-based photo editing works. For example, Samsung is said to be extremely good at removing people from photos using the AI eraser. I would like to know how good the Xiaomi is in this regard — both for removing people and for AI photo editing in general. According to some videos, it might not work as well, and how statisfied are you with hyperOS overall but I’m hoping someone can help me with more information. Thanks in advance!
I feel like if you get a smartphone mainly for a highend camera you should just get lightroom anyways
Without a shadow of doubt, after owning and using AI on both, the Samsung is much better.
I’m really not bothered about the AI stuff so I’m happy with the 15 Ultra but if it’s important to you then look at the S25U
I can confirm this, having tested both S24U and X15U.
Regarding the OS itself, Samsung offers more customization options if you only look at the amount of features, but in my opinion Xiaomi’s are more well thought of. I miss some things from Samsung, like the option to hide specific icons from the status bar (Bluetooth,NFS, VPN, etc.), but I’ve seen that hyperOS 2.2 will have that too.
Can’t even compare the animations from OneUI 6.1 to hyperOS 2.1, Xiaomi’s much better.
For Ai samsung is winning. For everything else about the camera Xiaomi take the win by far no competition
Xiaomi is good, you can redo the action several times to get a great result, but the 15 ultra is more than just a few AI gimmicks – Samsung, iPhones and Pixel excel at gimmicks and less so on the camera hardware. Here’s a one take example, if I had gone over the areas again and again it would come out very good. Man in the middle and woman with yellow bucket removed.
