This was taken on my Mi 9T using the stock camera. 16s shutter and 3200 iso…lightly tuned in Snapseed. There is quite a bit of light pollution around me from some nearby street lamps. I’m pretty impressed with this camera and intend on playing with it a bit more.
very nice
Well, if you are willing to work a bit in editing, any camera that support RAW is good. Remember to ETTR, will get more useable data
Omg! Can you post an unedited picture. I’ve ordered a tripod for my 9t pro too. Waiting for it to arrive.
Link to the tripod if you would not mind.
There are a few versions that do, 6.x variants. I’m very satisfied with xcam beta 10 on pie (mi9tpro) with the hidynamic v2 xml config file I got from the k20 pro photography telegram group.
Looking real good, especially if there’s light pollution!
32s is even better
Oh it’s just a placebo cheap 1 or 2 dollar one from Aliexpress. [here](https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/4W3n2EQc) if you have any interest.
Can you share the telegraph grp join link?

This photo is insane! Did you try with gcam astrophotography? And 32s?
What is ETTR?
Usually you underexpose photos to to bring them up in post, no?
That depends on the Sensor, some have more trouble with under-some with overexposure.
In Astro you basically want as much information as you can get and rather tone it down afterwards manually since you can’t create Image information but quite easily erase them.
Holy shit teach me astrophotography
What about ur phone?
Anyone have download link for gcam with astrophotography for mi9?
Well astrophotography feature comes with lot of soft processing tweaks. Sure u can take great pics with manual settings on 16/32sec but with gcam as the processing app. It will be better
Possibly…but I tried like 4-5 different GCAM 7 apps and could not get the astrophotography mode to turn on. I turned on all the developer settings needed, but nothing.
It’s only available on 7.1 as far as I know there’s no port versions so far . At least for Xiaomi . ( I’ve checked last week)
Oh, I am aware…my Pixel 3a does it quite well.
this is amazing BTW can you please provide unedited one???
No stars in my area.. 😭 😭 😭
Not sure I understand your analogy.
I was only trying to show the potential of the 9T’s stock camera. Taking this picture I was not even really trying…I just cranked up the ISO and increased the shutter length.
…by the way, I set the phone on the roof of my Audi A6 Avant Quattro…Not that I have an issue with Honda as I also own two 2nd Gen CRX’s.
I want to avoid editing and just don’t want to waste time adjusting manual control. Can stock cam do that? That’s where gcam works. Reduces the work. Good for point and shoot for most majority of people. For photographers yeah manual control is more good.
I found a GCAM port for the 9T this morning that supports astrophotography mode. I will try it this evening and see if it’s dramatically different.
I just tried it out on my Mix2S. It works through Night sight. Due to cloudy skies, there is nothing to see.
According to various blogs, you must use a stand or it won’t work. You just get ordinary night sight pics.
I just found a GCAM port that has the Astrophotography mode which works on the 9T. I will try again this evening using that to see how well it does.
No, I tried several gcam mods last night and couldn’t find one that supported that mode. I just found one this morning, so I will try it out tonight.
Let me know
It is not about the difference, reducing the work. 🙂 It is phone camera, the difference is eventually going to be negligible. Anyway gcam port with astrophotography released? Is that 7.1?
I understand what your saying…that’s why I said I would try the gcam…just to see if the built in point and shoot method of the astrophotography mode will catch anything different.
Many people who own phones, would never know how to even work manual mode…so to reduce the work and skill required appeals to most.
Most do not, and I have not yet found a 7.0/7.1 port that supports all three…just the 12mp main camera.
One interesting thing I found though…if you open portrait mode then zoom back out to 1X, it takes a 48mp photo. I am not sure if this is by design…or just a welcomed bug due to compatibility.
I’ll try those settings on my Mi 8, hopefully I’ll get something similar.
I mean, I would chalk up a lot of those dots to sensor noise. You can on the tree there are spots that are really sharp despite the tree being blurry, and on the sky there are clearly some “stars” that are really sharp while others are softer. I think a lot of what you’re seeing is phantom static on the sensor because of the extremely high ISO.
Update us!
Which version is it?

Amazing
Gcam link plox
Scroll up, I have already linked it twice in this post.
I’ve just set your photo as my wallpaper. Just to let you know.. 🙂
Where is the setting to turn on astrophotography mode? I’ve installed the apk and don’t see it
I think even better than with stock camera.
