Lol, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max! Sounds familiar? 😛
The first video is cut and mixed horribly:
It’s the equivalent of watching Liam Neeson climb a fence, while being advertised a nicer-dicer on an infomercial channel.
Does that video style actually resound with (I assume aimed at indian) people?
Disappointed not having a NFC.
Back to using snapdragon thankfully. I was going to upgrade my note 4 to an 8 but was put off by everyone saying how bad mediatek processors are. I was going to get the 9t lite instead but might wait for this now instead.
Can it be installed with GCam?
Yep, it can as it uses a Snapdragon SoC 🙂
The next variant could be Redmi note 9t Pro Max Plus Ultimate…
Really? I thought the redmi series had default NFC!

They’re both basically the same phone
That actually stops me from thinking about getting it
There was always the SD version of the Redmi Note
It maybe gets implemented for the European/Global Market tho. NFC usage in India is pretty low, that is why they do not implement it for this market. For the European Version they also have to add the LTE Band 20 to make it work here.
Different primary sensor and better fast charging
Ahh thanks for the great elaboration dude 🙂
The haptics too!
yeah but the camera was worse
Still good enough for the price – the Pro was a premium I wasn’t going to pay for a MTK SoC
>side-mounted fingerprint reader
What a disappointment
Haha no, though it could, Qi too since its no longer metal
And band-4 for NA
And the cpu barely an upgrade at all, even compared to the RN5
just tsaying redmi note 8 uses snapdragon (the pro is the one with mediatek)
Why no oled
Oled is expensive and not that needed
I looked at the specs of the note 9 pro and they arnt amazing over the 8 pro I’ve got the 8 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of storage. The new phone honestly only offers a bigger battery. Or am I missing something?
The mediatek processer is great. I have no issues. I liked it so much I bough my wife one.
Yeah I can confidently say this is my next phone. I’ve been waiting for a worthy upgrade for my note 4 and the pixel 3a has been nice but it’s kinda lacking in customization.
This will make an excellent complement to my 3a and I’m super stoked. Sad there’s no nfc but my smartwatch makes up for that.
Don’t they both have that z axis thing? That’s what I thought…
Interesting what improvement we’ll see in battery time then!

yyyyyeah no, I’m happy with my Redmi Note 8 Pro. I’m gonng wait until the Redmi Note 10 or 11 when there are significantly better changes.
These phones are so huge, 1cm taller than k20. I don’t have giant hands.
I have the note 8 pro, and its a great phone for daily use and hard gaming.
Nothing on just a normal Redmi 9?
My parents need to upgrade their Redmi 4A’s but Notes would be too big for them
Anyone know when the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available on sites like Aliexpress since that’s the only way for me to buy it in Canada?
mediatek is not bad. it just uses a tiny bit more power (thats why it has more battery than non pro) and have close to nonexistent custom ROM
Yeah I’d prefer rear mounted
Am I the only one who’s excited by that? I’ve always liked the idea of side mounted scanners more than any other position.
GCam on the Note 8 more than made up for the gimmicky more megapixels of the Note 8 Pro! The rest of the lenses were the same 🙂
It’s quite an upgrade, actually. The Note 8 uses newer Kryo cores, and is 11nm. Not to mention the GPU- Arduino 612 vs 5 something!
Exactly! At least make the Note 9 Pro decent sized, and the Pro “Max” huge as the name implies. They’re both the same size lol
Pro’s sensor was 1/3 bigger, not really a gimmick. A gimmick would be more megapixels from the same size sensor.
You’re right. The Helio G90t is actually slightly more powerful than the SD 730g! What you’re missing out on is essentially a bigger battery, and a punch hole. You gotta wait atleast a year before upgrading! It’s just a 60hz screen too 🙁
The European version should have NFC 😉
NFC isn’t really widespread in places like India. Same thing happened during the Note 8 launch. European version had NFC (Note 8_t_), and the rest didn’t.
Dope. I’ll wait then!
Not yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They recently released a revised Redmi 8, the Redmi 8a Dual tho
Because the naming is so complex. Can you clarify if you live in Europe the phone to get is the note 9t when it comes out?
I’m also moving from a note 4 this year. The NFC is my one big thing as I can use it for my train pass.
Man it’s 2020 Xiaomi still with the yester year screen refresh rate… I’m pumped up for the revealed only to be left disappointed…will they redeem themselves on RN10..RN10proMax??…i won’t hold my breath though Black Shark3 / 3pro looks promising… Nubia red magic 5G disappointing.. Hope Lenovo legion and ROG phone 3 get it right!!
Had a phone with that, it sucks, way less effective because the sensor is way smaller
Any date for European release of the note 9?
Yep, most probably. Whatever phone they officially sell in Europe should have NFC, irrespective of the naming.

Love the array of amazing features that comes integrated with the Redmi Note 9. Starting with the price of the phone, which I personally think is amazing. Considering the features and the specifications of the phone, it surely is priced quite decently. The camera setup at the back gives the smartphone a rather premium look which is amazing too. Now coming to one of the things that tops the list of priorities with regard to a smartphone; the processor. MediaTek in my personal opinion has never failed to deliver great performance leaving no room for complaints and it does the same the new Helio G85 gaming chipset too.
