Anyone get the update yet?
Yes, but haven’t tested it yet.
No update for me yet
This is the xioamillion dollar question, did they do it?
This was my second China phone (after OnePlus) and was a bit afraid in the beginning but I love every bit of this phone and their updates are spot on and only make the phone better.
Amazing news!
Got it yesterday here in Europe, headphone volume is louder on mine since update
Nope, C Manmohan is just ‘talking’ about it for now… remains to be seen if they are ever able to get Widevine.
I forced the install of latest stable. Can confirm 960fps slowmo (but I can’t seem to make it work fine, it seems bugged to me), improvements on night mode.
On the other side there is no 4k60 recording (I just see 4k30), no touch fix. I still need to test battery, but right now it still seems like it’s draining as fast as latest update.
This worked for me: https://en.miui.com/thread-4770288-1-1.html
The post where you wipe then take out the SIM.
Pocophone Global, 10.1.3.0
Just input your passcode as the pattern. So if your passcode was 1234 you just touch the circles in the same order.
That is fantastic news, it was really low
Hmm can’t remember what to do in that case, I think it may not work then.
Poco fans be like, do you have a spare 300$
I have the update, but half the stuff they were talking about isn’t there yet. We have night mode and 960 fps mode, no 60 fps on any resolution, not sure about L1 since I don’t use anything that needs it.
Edit:. Oh and it completely fixed my touch lag on the screen edges, very noticeable while typing.
When did anyone say the OnePlus isn’t better? It should be better, it costs what? Almost double?
Comparing oranges and potatoes.
The title is a bit misleading, but that is scheduled for the februari update. Huawei is said to add Widevine L1 in a software update as well, so it might actually happen.
So far Xiaomi have delivered on their updates.
How in the world are they going to add Widevine L1 if that can only be done via hardware?
Well from my understanding is it can only be done via certification at the factory. I believe when OnePlus had the a similar issue they replaced them with new ones. So we will eventually see if Xiaomi was telling the truth.
Edit, I said software instead of hardware, my bad.
And yeah, I was saying that because Oneplus had to take a bunch of phones and ship them back to add WVL1, and I can’t see how Xiaomi will add it via software, something Oneplus couldn’t.
Could this be related to the fact that Widevine L1 was cracked little time ago?
Doubt it since that was for L3 not L1. But I am interested in how Xiaomi is going to backtrack from this or how they will pull it off [source](https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/01/02/googles-widevine-l3-drm-used-by-netflix-hulu-and-hbo-has-been-broken/)
This is really the fascinating features of the Pocophone F1
Yeah, it’s going to be interesting to see how this develops.
Same here! Been a great experience so far. The phone feels more complete after every update.
I think so. The camera is much better than the camera of the Poco.
As far as I know, the Poco and the Mi 8 they have the same camera.
Maybe the primary camera but the Mi 8 has an additional 12mp telephoto lens. The second camera of the Poco only has 5mp.
Unless they can alter hardware via a software update, it isn’t going to happen.
I’m guessing they’ll do the same thing Huawei has done with their Mediapad M5? They did some sort of workaround OTA? Not sure tho.
I always just used an app to boost headphone volume.
Man, camera is much better on mi 8, it has better 1,8 aperature, but mainly it has optical image stabilization, which greatly improves video stability and low light photos
no fix for notch hiding yet…. sigh im sticking with oreo miui10 until then
Not sure if they deliberately made the phone ‘incomplete’ to be able to make it better and thus us happier or not, but I’m not complaining!
I wonder if they’re gonna do some updates like that to the redmi note 5
That already had L1, they just didn’t implement it properly.
Those Huawei phones already had Widevine L1, they just didn’t implement it properly.
Haha they definitely didn’t, but it’s the same thing as with the older oneplus devices. They kept getting better and better for every update.
