**Obviously not very practical but I just tried it and it works.**
Both games were running at a good 60 fps on a Redmi K20 Pro (SD 855).
The main window has Battle Prime in it and the smaller window has Sky Children of Light.
It was also the first time I saw an +80% GPU usage on Android which is telling of just how powerful these Adreno GPUs actually are and that most games don’t even make full use of them. Maybe it’s an Android limitation, or maybe developers just don’t try using more GPU cause:
1. The game in the smaller Window ran at a much lower resolution, maximizing the window showed a blurry, pixelated and stretched game. This is likely a MIUI optimization.
2. The phone was super hot within 2 minutes.
Found it interesting so decided to share this.
PS: why doesn’t this sub allow posting/linking images?
Mine is bugged and i can’t use it 🙁
You mean floating windows?
Yes.do You know if there is a Fix?
The way I got this to work was via the Game Turbo in-game shotcut bar. Swipe the shotcut bar from the top left/right corner of the screen, tap on the left side downward arrow and it should show a list of all your apps.
I still haven’t tried floating windows via notifications. Keep forgetting to do try that.
I already tried but floating Windows don’t work idk why. They just Open fullscreen
How do you monitor cpu/gpu usage?
Game Turbo in-game shortcut bar shows usage and fps at the very top in landscape mode
That’s weird. Floating windows are enabled by default and don’t have a setting to disable them.
Check with other people with the same phone as yours and then do a bug report to Xiaomi
still haven’t got miui 12 for mi9t
I have seen lots of games using 100% of the SD 855 GPU. Try playing Fortnite at Epic setting in 60 FPS. LOL. Or a decent 3D game with Anti-Aliasing enabled.
Hm, excuse me? I have tried Fortnite myself in my Mi 9T Pro. The GPU stays at 70 ~ 100% usage most of the time if you are playing the game at 60 FPS. It is a heavy game for mobile GPUs. It looks like to me that YOU have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe you should stop being such an ignorant person, as I was just making a reply to what the OP originally wrote about never seeing the GPU going above 80% usage during a game.
Thank you very much.
Never said ANYTHING about Fortnite being heavier than any other game. Learn how to read so you can proper interpretate stuff and what’s happening around you. You are just aiming to attack “Fortnite fanboys” for no reason at all when I never especifically said anything about any of that. It’s fucking unbelievable LOL.
P.S: Fortnite IS heavy, and it CAN make your GPU go all the way up to 100% usage while you are playing it. Maybe you should test it again. 😉
they did actually release it at the end of june but only for the pro version….bruh fuck capitalism….
Heavier =|= Heavy
I was thinking of replying you further more but you are just too dumb for it. Have a nice day.
Fortnite is on Android? What the fuck?
It has been on Android for a while now
I think the base of the games are more to low-end CPUs and GPUs so more people can play the them.
i think it doesn’t make any sense to release it only for mi9t pro
For those who don’t have Miui 12, you can try using VMOS and play pubg in both your accounts!
Yes, like I said not practical. The SD 855 SoC is quiet powerful but running hot is not good for them! Same for other top end SoCs. So devs don’t actually make full use of the processing power available.
While this is true, clearly the SoCs are quiet powerful. As a PC gamer I think devs can provide preset graphics options (like they do now) as well as a custom option to mess with just about every setting.
I’d like to play my games at 60 fps and full resolution with all other effects turned off. Instead most games become too hot at high settings and 60 fps or lower resolution at low settings and 60 fps or even lock into 30 fps at low settings.
Yeah, that’s true!
You could only download it through Epic’s website for a very long time since they did not want to give Google that 30% cut. But they caved and added it to the Play Store some months back.
Okay. Never heard of it being there.
Ah, seems legit. Probably haven’t heard of it because I uninstalled Play Store and never been to epic’s site
Sorry about the other guy. Fortnite doesn’t even run at a stable 60 fps on my phone (don’t know about iPhones) at lowest quality settings and also reduces the resolution. At max settings it doesn’t even hit 30 fps.
Epic put out a mobile port but it will only run well on iPads. Unlike other mobile games, Fortnite is a proper port of the console/PC game.
So while yes it stresses the GPU 100% the comparison isn’t really worth making since it will run garbage and since you are literally playing a console/PC game on your phone. The LoD and texture detail is surprisingly high. All current and next 5 year SoCs while powerful just can’t compare to a console/PC hardware.
A better example would be Bright Memory. That game is a proper PC to mobile port with reduced textures and LoDs. Runs silky smooth at 60 fps, looks unlike anything else on mobile.
All I’m saying is: it was never my intention to make ANY comparisons LOL. You just commented about never seeing your GPU usage go all the way up to 80%, and I’ve said that there are plenty of games out there (including Fortnite) that can make your GPU go all the way up to 80% usage alone by themselves.
Regarding your phone not being able to reach 60 FPS in Fortnite, that’s not true. I also have a K20 Pro and Epic Games limits the FPS to 30, no matter what graphical setting you use. BUT, my Android is rooted, so I was able to bypass this limit and make my game run at 60 FPS hahaha.
It made my phone really hot and the GPU/CPU usage was always above 60%, so yeah, it’s definitely a PC/console port running on a mobile which is pretty demanding, but our phones CAN run it at 60 FPS! 😀
Regarding that game Bright Memory, never seen it before, but I’m definitely going to give it a try later!
Cool but why will anyone play two games together lol.
That’s a gimmick. Why would anyone want to play two games at once?
You won’t! I just thought it was funny and cool that it was possible 😄
You really even cannot. Just wanted to share that it was possible! On a phone!
Yeah the other guy is just misinformed and a jerk.
And I’d actually like to see more custom graphics options in game since these SoCs are more powerful than I thought. Full resolution + 60 fps and minimum all other settings like you can do on PCs. Sadly most games either have high settings which make phones run hot or low settings which reduce resolution. And either of these can arbitrarily lock into 30 fps too.
As for Bright Memory get it on Steam Summer sale right now if you reallly want to. The mobile version is premium. You can always check out the gameplay on YT or use TapTap to try it as it’s free there.
*Gacha gaming intensities*
Does it stay in MIUI 12? It disappears for me if I input anything in the game in MIUI 11.
It’s not even, Xiaomi release so many phones but in this lineup it’s exactly 1 generation. Mi 9 series – Mi 10 series. So you might want to think before you broadcast your simple mind for everyone to see.
speaking of games, when I open honkai impact 3rd on my phone it devolves into a game of hot potato with my couch, how can I optimize that
Lol yeah that is one place this will work
Try factory resetting your phone. It fixed mine.
Game stays and takes input. Although from the screenshot you can see that on-screen buttons are missing for Sky. They are present where they should be however.
But why? 🙂
Anyway, you could already do two games at the same time with splitscreen right?
I already did that on my Redmi Note 4X (dual app and splitscreen to play the same game twice with two different accounts)
HI3 is one of the most heavy mobile games out there. I switched to the PC version for the same reasons plus the button mashing hurt my thumbs. It now has a dedicated PC game client, not emulator. Runs great.
If you want to play on mobile though keep resolution to high (100% screen res, lower resolution settings reduce it leading to pixellation), set to 60fps and turn off everything else. Doesn’t look good but runs fine.
No, I meant the game boost toolbar with fps. I could only see fps when stationary in the game.
I don’t think all games support splitscreen well.
And I just tried this for fun, not very practical! 😁
Yeah the bar disappears when you touch the screen, it really only works well if there is an automated section in the game (like Asphalt 9 for example since cars auto drive). Alternately, you can view some high detail objects on your screen and then check for fps.
Generally though, the stationary fps will of course be higher than if there is action going on in the game. If you don’t get 60fps when stationary, you need to lower graphics settings. If you get 60fps when stationary but experience stuttering when moving about, you need to lower graphics settings.
Wish they had a setting to always show those stats on top though.
чел ну ты и троллишь конечно
bruv ur skills are awesome
Still no MIUI 12 on Mi 9T global version here in the Netherlands :/
How you gonna see and shoot the enemies on your left side ?
What game is that?
The main screen has Battle Prime and the smaller one has Sky Children of Light
It’s because you debloated.
?. How do i Fix it do i need to install another ROM?
Did you removed some system apps? You uninstalled app that was for Floating Windows. Factory reset will fix that. I do factory reset after every major update.
And if you didn’t debloated or didn’t uninstalled something it’s weird. Then I don’t know fix.
Debeloat is to change ROM? Or to remove fabrica apps.
Debloat – remove preinstalled apps
What do you mean TV? Doesn’t it have pictute in picture?
Even on my mi9t pro I still can’t download miui 12 maybe because of my location idk (French West Indies)
Oh i get it now
I’ll try this on my Note 8 Pro.. It will not run at 60 fps like the SD 855 but I’ll give a try
man that sucks
You shouldn’t be doing stuff that super heat your phone unless you don’t intend to use it for long
Does voice call recording works? I’m on 9t pro, waiting for that feature then ill update to 12.
I factory reset my Mi 9. Surprisingly, it worked. Both floating windows and even split screen (which used to work just fine) didn’t work since MIUI 12. Just remember to back everything up before.
Nice, i Will try it out. Fingers crossed
Very practical for games like epic seven where you have to farm in auto mode
I was able to do this way back in MIUI 9 but using MIUI EU and a side by side window instead of picture in picture. I was able to play Ragnarok Mobile on 2 accounts (A priest for healing and a knight as my main).
Yeah I can see call recording options in the dialer. Haven’t used it yet though
Nah game bar does not work with split screen
Yeah I have the note 10 pro and I still haven’t received it, this sucks.
is the note 10 pro in the first wave of the update?
I don’t think so, they don’t consider it a flagship phone I guess.
Hey there, try to open the developer options you might turn off the miui optimization turn it back on that should do it
I did it on my phone and floating window works now
I did managed to fix it like that a while ago. Thx anyways it may help someone else 🙂
